TheRapidsNerd Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 ^Batman Begins was essentially establishing everything (like the first few chapters of a book). Now that the audience is familiar with this series' way of telling the story, the energy can go into better bad guys since Arkham let a bunch of people loose in the first movie. They were also establishing Scarecrow's origins and I'd bet he returns somewhere along the line. Translation: Groundwork layed for franchise, now comes the good stuff. Just noticed that Morgan Freeman is in The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger as Joker. Freeman is also in The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson, who was Joker in the last Batman series. Cool huh?
SixFlagsTexas Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Has anyone been following the viral marketing for this movie? It's been insane! There have been several scavenger hunts, websites, and events set up during this marketing campaign. http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=7005
alpengeist04 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I like the trailer, but it's still creepy knowing Heath Ledger is no longer with us.
Bucket Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 ^ That's quite a good trailer. I really got the feeling that Batman Begins was really struggling with finding good villains. I thought the Scarecrow villain was great in Batman Begins. I never really knew that much about his character and was glad chose a villain like him over Mr. Freeze, the Penquin, etc. As I've already said before, I cannot wait for this new Batman film. The new Joker portrayed by the late Heath Ledger looks brilliant!
jackskellington101 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Has anyone been following the viral marketing for this movie? It's been insane! There have been several scavenger hunts, websites, and events set up during this marketing campaign. http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=7005 I have been and I absolutely love it. It's crazy, it really draws people in, and it's massively creative. The whole campaign is created by a company called 42 Entertainment. Their past campaigns, like "I love bees" for Halo 2 and the recent "YearZero" for NIN, are extremely creative and this campaign, really two campaigns called "I Believe in Harvey Dent" and "why so serious?", seems to be their magnum opus. To bring this back to parks, two of members of their top management structure, Joe DiNunzio and Susan Bonds, are former Imagineers, the former being one of the creators of DisneyQuest and the latter being creative director/senior show producer of rides like Mission:Space, Alien Encounter and Indy! Anyway, the stuff they've done to play this game; online puzzles, online to real world scavenger hunts through major cities to places like bakeries and, on this one for April Fools Day, bowling alleys, contact through special cell phones found at the end of the hunt, it's amazing. I can't wait to see what happens when this is all said and done.
SixFlagsTexas Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 The new trailer has been bootlegged on YouTube, look for it before it goes down. If not, the high quality version will come out this Sunday anyway. The trailer is AWESOME by the way.
Bucket Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 ^I am sure the trailer is amazing, but I don't want to watch it, because a lot of trailers give out or ruin scenes for me! I can't wait till this comes out! And since I am in the States already, I don't have to wait 6 months later to see it!
mcjaco Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 ^ Argh. That was a terrible recording. I guess I'll wait until Sunday. Between this movie, Iron Man, Indy, and Hulk, I may see more movies this summer than I have in four years.
trcg721 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 It wasn't attached when attached with Iron Man when I saw it last night.
mcjaco Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 The Dark Knight trailer and the new Indiana Jones trailer were attached to our showing of Iron Man last night. Those are definitely my 2 most anticipated films this summer. Not to derail my own thread....But, how was Iron Man? The Chicago Tribune guy gave it 3 1/2 stars.
alpengeist04 Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 The Dark Knight trailer and the new Indiana Jones trailer were attached to our showing of Iron Man last night. Those are definitely my 2 most anticipated films this summer. I had the Indy and Hulk previews today. ...no Batman. Oh btw, Iron Man kicked arse. 9/10
trcg721 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 http://www.whysoserious.com/happytrails/trailer.htm There you guys go, the new trailer.
SixFlagsTexas Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Kind of a spoiler, but... [[[WARNING: SPOILER!]]] If you pause the trailer at 2:02, you see Harvey Dent as Two-Face
trcg721 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 You should edit your post. some people might not want to know.
RoseMarie Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 I cannot tell you how much I am stoked about this movie. I like that this trailer (opposed to the December version) actually gave an outline of the plot instead of just showing a bunch of crashes and explosions and demented clowns. Speaking of demented clowns, it is going to be very hard to watch Ledger in this. He's completely unrecognizable, and call me a wimp, but hearing his crazy clown laugh sends chills down my spine each time I hear it. July can't come fast enough! *watches it yet again*
mcjaco Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 Finally watched the second trailer last night. The more I see of Ledger's Joker, the more amped I am about this movie. It makes me wonder how on earth they would continue the series, without the Joker. If this goes longer than a trilogy, which I don't believe it will. I'm thinking this is the second, dark, good guy loses, chapter of the three.
SixFlagsTexas Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 The first clip of Two-Face has been revealed thanks to the Dark Knight viral marketing today. - MAJOR SPOILER - http://www.whysoserious.com/myhero/ I must say, this is epic for a comic book movie. But then of course, Christopher Nolan has taken this franchise further than just "superhero movies".
kraken613 Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I didnt know Two-Face was even in it! I guess I just didnt put it together! LOL
kraken613 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I know I just never thought about it or put it together.....
DarkStitch626 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Well for you spoiler haters don't scroll down but for those who wanna see Two-Face.. This image was released on an MTV spot.
kraken613 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Thats..... ummmm..... Freaky!!!!!!!!!!!!! It fits with the mood of the movie for sure!
DBru Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 DANG! This is turning out to be more of a horror movie... Who ever thought Batman would become of this?!?!
