  1. Wow, I really can't believe all the improvements MM made to the ride! I mean, sure, I've been reading about them for months now, but they implemented them AMAZINGLY. It looks like it adds a whole new experience to X2. I can't wait to get back down there again. EDIT: Any opinions on the new loading system? Is it any more efficient? Great coverage Robb, and hats off to Magic Mountain for doing a GREAT job to relaunch -one- of their signature rides.
  2. Here's more coverage of the event if anybody is curious. Apparently it was Nick that had the idea for the reception. Snagged from Hip Hollywood. Cute idea. Not totally opposed to it myself.
  3. I cannot tell you how much I am stoked about this movie. I like that this trailer (opposed to the December version) actually gave an outline of the plot instead of just showing a bunch of crashes and explosions and demented clowns. Speaking of demented clowns, it is going to be very hard to watch Ledger in this. He's completely unrecognizable, and call me a wimp, but hearing his crazy clown laugh sends chills down my spine each time I hear it. July can't come fast enough! *watches it yet again*
  4. After being a member for nearly a year and making a grand total of 3 posts (but lurking far too much), I figured that I should do the honorable thing and make an intro post. Good idea, no? I'm horrible at keeping things short and concise, but here's a shot. My name is Rachel and I love books, coasters, chocolate, Disneyland, and penguins in no particular order. Even though my home parks are SFDK and CGA, I've been them less than I've been to SFMM and DL. I'm currently enrolled at SJSU studying to become a nurse, and when I get my degree I know where I'm moving. I've been a coaster junkie for years, ever since I was dragged onto the Pepsi Ripsaw coaster. I have an odd style of riding as I hop into lines with absolutely no thought at all, but the closer I get to the train the more nervous I get! I'm proud to say that I've never actually chickened out of a ride and that afterwards, I'm the person who's begging to hop right back on. I'm a very easygoing person and I can carry on conversations on almost any subject (except politics - don't go there). I'm almost always online on AIM (ignore the away message if you see it, I throw that up because I'm too lazy to change it) if you want to hit me up. Have a nice day! -- Rachel
  5. I got into coasters when I was 10 or so and my sister dragged me along onto that Pepsi Ripsaw coaster at the Mall of America. From that moment I've been an unrepentant thrill junkie.
  6. Ahahaha, I remember going on those slides! I was with a group and I randomly lined up for it, and once I was done I was thinking "What the heck was that?!" I got so disoriented inside. I'm sad to admit that I'm terrified of speed slides. I went on a speed slide at Waterworld Sacramento (it was a dare, and if I did it I'd get points for my team) and I was scared to the point of crying. I'm scared that I'll fly off of the slide halfway through and then POOF- no more coasters or slides for me. I've made it to Hurricane Harbor and Raging Waters without going on any others. I love enclosed body slides, especially if they're dark. Drop slides are also lots of fun.
  7. I hope it's okay to post this, but yesterday I found a Flickr album of somebody who went and really took some beautiful shots of the ranch at night. And yes, it's being auctioned off (or maybe it has happened already?). I'm not entirely sure how to post photos, but some rides that I picked out was a pirate ship, Zipper, ferris wheel, swings, bumper cars, carousal, and a train that went around the ranch. They all looked like generic seedy carnival type rides to me though, haha.
