Mark Shapiro himself tried to downplay the new SFMM Coaster. I'm sure they'll announce it soon, but like has been discussed, it's really not a big deal or something to fret over.

"No, we actually talked about our families, kids and other stuff. Didn't really talk about the park at all!" (Robb)

WUT'S TEH MATTR WITH U?!?!21?! You could have gotten some good inside info!

Seriously, whenever I run into Jay at SFMM, we talk a little about our families and non-park stuff, too.

Information about the new ride will surface soon enough.

Found this on ThemeParkInsider...

I bumped into Six Flags CEO Mark Shapiro this morning, and he's trying to manage expectations for Magic Mountain's new roller coaster. We've known it will be a family coaster, bur Shapiro said to think even smaller than that.

Looks like GoldRusher 2.

Sorry about that. Just looked at a Gold Rusher Pov and that actually looks fun...dipping and diving along the mountain.

How about, Goliath Jr. 2 or maybe Thomas Town is getting a small coaster.

^Honestly, you should probably be a bit better informed before posting in threads like this.

You didn't know what Gold Rusher was before making an analogy about it, and now you're suggesting that Thomas Town may be getting a small roller coaster when they already have one.

Please, no.

^ Well, regardless of the manufacturer, it looks like a mini mine train. I'm sure I've posted this before, but look at this picture from the SFMM Family Rides page:

Mini mine train coaster

I can't tell what manufacturer made that, but that's what I was getting at.

Okay, but just because a ride is featured on a website doesn't mean that it's going to be the one that's going to be installed. How long was the pic up there, do you know? It if was recent (i.e. after announcement) then maybe it ties in with the new coaster.

I figured that, but I was just illustrating a possibility. Chances are, no, that isn't what's coming. That is just a stock photo used on the various Six Flags park sites.

Yeah, I'm not even worried about next year. It's not going to be a year for thrill seekers, which is fine.

Next year I'll be spending most of the summer in Ohio anyway. Lots of thrills there!

Because we wont get a record breaker next year So Cal will be thrill deprived! Oh please! Enjoy Ohio as there is soooo much to do there when compared to Southern California

Who said anything about thrill deprived. But I've been there and done that. Sorry, but a trip through Ohio, St.Louis and Indiana sounds more fun to me.

First time on Terminator since Termination Day.

Please let us know if the effects are working. We were there on Sunday and the fire didn't work and you could barely hear the audio.

Here's where that argument is flawed and everyone if finding conflict with.

As of the 2010 the park will have the following in their thill lineup

*X

*Viper

*Deja Vu

*Terminator

*Tatsu

*Superman

*Riddler's Revenge

*Revolution

*Goliath

*Scream!

*Colossus

*Batman

12 of the parks 17 coasters are designed for the thrill market. You cant get that kind of ratio just anywhere. Just because the park isn't getting a *dive machine* doesn't mean they neglected the thrill seekers. The park offers 12 high-profile, thrill oriented rides, some of which are recognized the world over.

No big coaster...Boo Hoo. You have 12 to choose from to help ease the pain.

I was there on Saturday, the 14th, and just about everything was working. The only thing not working were the cameras in the queue and the mist. They even had all 3 preshow rooms doing the full 'movie'.

I find it interesting that you conveniently left off the last part of my statement where I said it was fine that a new thrill wasn't coming to SFMM next year. I'm well aware that the park has lots of big coasters and it's time to focus on the little ones. I'm okay with it, and will be busy visiting parks in other states next year.

^I don't think that claim necessarily validates your argument. That's like saying "I hate *insert race here*, but I'm okay with them living in America"

But yeah, I think SFMM mayyyybe shouldve gone a bit bigger with their ride, but they are obviously in the know more than an idiot like myself.

I'm still surprised they havent bothered turning the Audio up on Terminator, they managed to turn it down in a couple days, yet they've had the whole summer and then some, and it's still inaudible. At this point, the onboard audio is relatively useless and a total waste of money.
