And that isn't going to happen either. How would proper drainage possibly function with that proposed solution? The immediate concern is that simply placing sod over an impermeable asphalt surface would almost certainly result in a significant problem, creating a large, soggy, and unpleasant mess whenever there is any rainfall.
ryder Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I remember once the management jokingly said they were going to repaint the parking lot lines there to keep up the theming. They obviously weren't being serious. but they did really say that... so they're fully aware of the reputation of the ride in that regard.
A.J. Posted January 24 Posted January 24 17 hours ago, rba13 said: The "mocked coaster" you’re referring to is Scream!, a Bolliger & Mabillard floorless coaster that opened in 2003. It is famously (and relentlessly) teased by enthusiasts because Six Flags literally built it on top of a former parking lot without removing the asphalt or the white parking stripes. Even after a 2015 repaint into its current blue and orange "Screampunk" colors, the ride still sits over a sea of sun-cracked pavement. To transform this area and separate it from its "parking lot" reputation, Six Flags could move beyond simple landscaping and try these "outside the box" concepts: We appreciate your contributions, but please don't use an LLM to write your posts. Thank you! 4 1

It’s the only coaster where the 'floorless' experience refers to the fact that they forgot to put a floor over the 2002 Corolla oil stains.

Doppel Looping Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM For what it is worth, i really liked scream when i rode it in ~2010. 2
prozach626 Posted Thursday at 03:14 PM Posted Thursday at 03:14 PM No doubt. It's a great ride. I was just referring to the themeing relevant to the conversation. 1
Doppel Looping Posted Friday at 02:11 PM Posted Friday at 02:11 PM It’s not you specifically but i often hear people complain about the ‘parking lot coaster’. Maybe it’s just my fondness for travelling schwarzkopf coasters but i almost didn’t even notice the parking lot lines. I was just glad to ride the coaster. Of all of the irritating things about 6 flags parks, themeing under the rollercoaster is towards the bottom of the list. 1

Honestly, if the ride delivers, I usually don't care what's under the track either. But with Scream, it’s just such a meme at this point because it’s a B&M—you kind of expect that "premium" feel, and then you look down and see a literal parking spot. It’s definitely a Six Flags classic move, though. As long as the ops aren't a total nightmare and the rattle isn't too bad, I can live with the "parking lot" aesthetic. Plus, traveling Schwarzkopfs have way more soul than half the stuff being built today, so I get why the lines don't bother you.
Nrthwnd Posted Friday at 08:50 PM Posted Friday at 08:50 PM ^ I always thought that maybe they should hire a 'street artist' or some painting company, to create a 3-D painting, underneath that coaster. It could be quite something. And be able to be refreshed when needed. 2 1
DoinItForTheFame Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago You know.... I think it might FINALLY happen! I might finally get out to this park this summer. Been wanting to go for decades, just never have had the time, nor chance. Looks like that might be changing!!! - Any other parks near by that we should do??? We won't have a rental car, and we are flying into LAX. So transportation will be limited. (Unless we rely on Ubers.)

Universal Hollywood. There's a small FEC (John's Incredible Pizza) that has a credit in the form of a SBF Visa figure 8. And Santa Monica pier if you want the smallest Morgan credit ever built. Castle Park, about an hour drive from the LAX airport, has a Vekoma Junior coaster. Everything else will be farther. May I highly recommend flying through Burbank Airport (BUR) instead of LAX? It is a much smaller scale and thus less crowds and nonsense.

Or even better: make it look like a bunch of 2002 Corollas are parked beneath as you ride by!
