  1. ^ Maybe he and Latrelle Sprewell could start a support group for these kind of matters. I'm pretty sure Sprewell's family is going hungry by now.
  2. Nothing is worth that. I'm rooting for a lockout at this point, because I wouldn't mind seeing the league self destruct a bit. It'd honestly be quite amusing if both sides end up suffering as much as possible. Hmm, maybe they should consult Gary Bettman.
  3. If you look close, you can still see the Grauman's Chinese Theatre replica hidden behind that stupid hat.
  4. Calling out other sites kind of disproves your theory. There's plenty of sites that suck. Just let 'em be.
  5. It's always gonna be a case by case scenario, but attempting to put constraints on human emotion in times of dangerous situations is a slippery slope no matter how you slice it. Suspension....yes. Immediate termination.....no.
  6. Thanks for those videos, Robb! - V12 is utter crap. Hell, even I'd rather volunteer to clean the roof with a toothbrush than sit through that atrocity. - Speed of Magic is also pretty lame......except for the sounds of the engine. I could listen to that all day. - Racing Legends was simply full of awesome. I'm in love with the World of Motion/If You Had Wings: Ferrari Edition aspect of it. Bellissimo!
  7. No, it's really not. I just pulled about 3.5 g's of acceleration when I coughed. Seriously. If I put any amount of thought into it at all, I could probably give you the names of about 50 "family friendly" coasters that pull 4 g's momentarily at some point in their circuit. That's technically good enough to mention in the press release. As for the description and artwork, I LOVE it.
  8. Interesting comparison. Never thought of it that way, but the more I see of it, the more it really does seem like that. This is true. I can't get enough of this place! Thanks for the report.
  9. Ditto. From their website: Translation: this place has got to be 100% gold.
  10. I actually checked out the website earlier today, and just from the looks of that, you're right, it certainly does look miles ahead of the old days. The mention of "big cats in small enclosures" (^^) seems a bit disturbing to me though. I'm kind of anxious to see a report from the place now. I think Vizcaya is also a must see. I'm not quite sure it lends itself to "Oddventure" status, but it's certainly a great tour of history. Wait, what am I saying? Erik and Smisty could make a trip report of just about anything amusing.
  11. I naturally assumed you knew of Parrot Jungle as well. It honestly amazes me that these places still exist. I lived down there for 28 years, and never once visited either "jungle." I did however find some satisfaction from Monkey Jungle following Hurricane Andrew. Evidently, a bunch of the monkeys that managed to survive were on the loose in the days and weeks following the storm. It was somewhat humorous to hear the news reports each evening documenting the efforts to wrangle up the lost primates. I was secretly hoping for a post-apocalyptic "Planet of the Apes-style" ending to the story where our new mayor would be a large smiling orangutan with an army of laser-eyed alligators at his disposal. It didn't happen. SyFy, are you listening?
  12. Do I spy a 599xx behind that Daytona?? Seriously, that's one of the most well rounded private supercar collections under one roof. There's close to, if not a little more than $10 million worth in that single line of cars! And considering the neighborhood, it makes it even that much more impressive.
  13. ^ Same. A bad business model will almost always kill off the weaker competitors. This isn't really news.
  14. I'm pretty sure the FXX owners have the option of housing them at either their own location, or Maranello. But since it's not street legal, he can still only drive it at private track sessions, and those sponsored by Ferrari, where their techs will be on-site to capture the data from the car and driver. I'm still disappointed that I missed seeing the FXX at a Road Atlanta Ferrari event several years back. Here's the owner. I've heard that he's crashed an Enzo before, but have never been able to confirm it. Love the report! I still shake my head at the fact that this guy won the 24 Hours of Daytona with A.J. Foyt, and placed 2nd at Le Mans. It boggles the mind.
  15. Loved this one! I'm anxious for more.
  16. Some of the larger private megayachts have had these for awhile. It's a great look, and definitely nice to see them make their way to the cruise lines! Great report, Reed!
  17. Are you sure you were looking at the same map as the rest of us?
  18. Pixar is the gated community, and Dreamworks is the trailer park. How is this even a discussion?
  19. How many times have you been to Hard Rock? Have you been to Hard Rock more than once? That's a very strong statement to say - that it's the most disappoint casino - I would hate to hear what you have to say about Imperial Palace or Casino Royal. I use to live across the street for a year, only saw it under normal capacity in the casino....once. Maybe twice. So how many times do you need to visit a place before you can form an opinion on it? My friends took me to the Hard Rock casino once back in '03 during its busiest evening hours. Unlike Larry, the place gave me the creeps, and there wasn't a single redeeming quality about any of it....including the clientele. Basically, they could relocate the restaurants and implode the rest. It'd be doing a great service to Vegas......and the CDC.
  20. ^ The flip side is that there's still plenty of terrible, pissed off humans handling our food in sit down restaurants too. I think you roll the dice no matter where you eat these days. ^^ Yeah, I know you were. It's all good. I was just suggesting worst case scenario strategy. The WSOP is obviously the worldwide attention grabber for the property, and Caesars Entertainment surely has no plans to relocate the event or sell off the Rio anytime soon. BUT, things can change. In the long run though, I think the Rio has more upside than the once trendy, chic Palms.
  21. Caesars Entertainment owns the World Series of Poker brand, and they own and operate the Rio. I imagine they could easily move the WSOP to Caesars Palace if need be, since it's the only hotel/casino on the strip that has hosted a WSOP circuit event.
