  1. I had that damn thing in the claw once, but dropped it.
  2. Admittedly, I'm slightly biased towards WDW because I basically grew up there, and have visited countless times. With that said, I can still look at everything objectively. I consider myself a Disney dork (although you'll never find me on DisBoards or anything - I'd rather shoot myself in the head). I'm well versed on the history of Walt Disney, Disneyland, and WDW. I've made three visits to Anaheim, a ton to WDW, and here's how I see it. First of all, anyone who's comparing DL to the MK in minute details is missing the whole point of the visit. With the obvious certain E-ticket exceptions (Matterhorn, Indy, etc.), the parks are similar enough. In my mind, I've always viewed DL with a sort of "museum-like" quality. It's where things started. And by things, I mean mostly everything concerning worldwide amusement parks as we know them today. To make an omelette you gotta break a few eggs. To me, it's somewhat sad how, as the generations go on, the original idea of DL gets a bit lost in the shuffle. I think a lot of folks look at the place, with its current surroundings, and think, "Ugh, I can't believe they built it here." Truth is, it was probably lucky to have been built anywhere. Even with his name and immense success in the film industry, funding for what was then an unproven park concept proved tough. So I always choose to visit DL with the mindset that I'm visiting what was simply the foundation for greater things. As Robb suggested, WDW is basically just DLv2.0. With more money to play with following the eventual success of DL, Walt transformed another "wasteland" into what he wished DL was to begin with. And naturally, no sequel will ever capture the same unique charm as the original, but regardless, it's unmistakably still Disney (with a less cramped, overpopulated feel to it). Like I mentioned before, if you're visiting with the desire to constantly compare things, then you're probably shorting yourself and missing the whole point of the visit. Still, if I'm someone in the middle of the country debating which to visit for a true vacation, it's hands down WDW. Not even a couple unique E-tickets and the charm of a castle that Walt walked through could sway that decision. Disneyland, for most people outside the tri-state southwest region, should be nothing more than a weekend stay at the most. And heck, even as big a Disney fan as I am, I have never visited Disney's California Abomination, and really don't have any huge desire to either. That doesn't say much for a place that's trying to pawn itself off as a "resort." To add to this, it rains in Florida.....a LOT. Having that outdoor portion in the MK would've been one more thing effected by weather, which was unnecessary. I'll never forgive 'em for it. It was seriously one of the coolest rides ever. Check this out, if you haven't already.
  3. Wait, so why the hell don't you just change your whole objective altogether then? If saving a stupid coaster (any coaster) seems to be so friggin' important to you, then why can't you just man up, admit trying to "Save the Big Dipper" was a stupid idea, and refocus on blowing whatever money you still have in the direction of Blue Streak and CLP, and leave complete strangers out of this! Instead, you're still claiming to the news, So what if, by the beard of Zues, that actually happens? Does that mean the magical "Donations" button is once again relevant and important to you? Make up your damn mind.
  4. ^ "Maybe"? In related news, WSTFU is reporting places like these would like to personally thank Kat Jones for her misguided and selfish attempts to try and save a rotting pile of wood that only a few Ohioans care about, rather than doing something proactive and admirable with her money.....like helping humanity. Great job, Kat! Stick with it. You only become more irritating by the day.
  5. Upon further review, I think #4 is absolutely a definite lock. It just hit me as I clicked the back button a minute ago, but the white border really catches my eye and brings my attention to the title, whereas in the past I think the title got "lost" or blended too much. I like the boldness of it.
  6. They (or any park in the future for that matter) should just leave it nameless. I think that would be kind of cool, and funny.
  7. I voted for #4. I kind of agree. I think the font is okay, but perhaps it needs a little more space below "TPR"? I kind of agree with this too. I love the line, but not quite sure it works there. I tried thinking of different ways to incorporate something that relays the jist of the site's disclaimer, since that's always been an awesome, and pivotal part of decoding our humor for outsiders or newbies, but I keep coming back to the simplicity of the original tagline.
  8. It's kind of crazy that Gwazi would finally get Flyers, even before Voyage's TLs go into service. I'm with Zach. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this move is what the ride really needed, and I can officially consider BGT's coaster lineup the best, and most complete in the country.....even before Poacher:The Ride opens.
  9. James, I believe this is the only part you had wrong. Somehow, there will always be at least one Ohioan who cares more than they should about this pile of wood, whether it's still standing or not.
  10. I'm rooting for Atlanta to lose as quickly as possible, just so I don't have to hear the name "Matty Ice" one more effing time.
  11. I'm for the Canes, er, Ravens now.
  12. This is a tough one because the only thing you have for comparison's sake is actually a fairly "tame" ride (Test Track). In reality, Test Track is designed to appear much faster than it really is. It's actually no faster than traveling down the interstate in a convertible. Sooo, when it comes to whether you'll enjoy an actual roller coaster, albeit a tame one such as Big Thunder or Space Mountain, I'd say it's just really up to you. We could try and explain it a million different ways to you, but you'll have to just suck it up, take a deep breath, and try it out. Just think of it this way, it's 3-4 minutes of your life to find out if you enjoy it or not. Go for it! And just for comparison's sake, I'd rank your three examples like this, in terms of intensity (#1 being the most): 1) Mummy 2) Space Mountain 3) Big Thunder
  13. I wonder if Jeff still has that car?
  14. Watching the intro video again totally made up for missing my second chance today. Scott "LOGO!!" B.
  15. I would've had my second crack at it today around midnight, but my cat evidently does not want that to happen. One step on the power strip under the computer desk was all it took. Thanks, Mia.
  16. ^ Could you point that out? I have no idea what you're talking about.
  17. This shirt is all kinds of awesome. http://www.shoprealmart.com/shop.cfm?category=2&start=1
  18. It'd be cool if they gave TPR a shout out the next time they slide one of those signs on a stick through the glass.
  19. Awesome! Great work, guys, and thanks so much for providing countless hours of fun, mindless entertainment. Any word if those are a$$less leather chaps?
