Cooking TR: A cup, a cup, a cup, a la Steel Magnolias.

I so wish I could have some of that for lunch right now. -
First off, thanks to everyone for your kind words. I apologize for the overall lack of great quality to the video, but it's really the best I could do with what I had. Also, a big thanks to Robb for helping with the technical issues! Thanks, Larry. Yeah, I was hoping for some of the Top Gun soundtrack, but I'll settle for some Footloose I guess. Indeed. A typical wave swinger tops out at 27mph. Kick Boodie was once clocked on the radar gun at 45mph! LOL. C'mon Joe, you didn't really think I'd steer you wrong, did you? Hopefully, you will. Hehe. Yeah, certainly an interesting choice of soundtrack. It creates quite a dichotomy from the ride's early years to its later years, when the owners had accepted God in their lives and vowed to use their ride as a tool of ministry, playing mostly church festivals, etc. I'm curious if the video helped the ride live up to your expectations? I ask because I know you've been a big fan and supporter of the ride along the way. Like it? Hate it? Would you ever ride it? Have you ridden it in the past, and would like to share your memories of it? I'm anxious to hear everyone's thoughts on the ride. And any positive feedback will certainly help concerning the ride's future. So please, feel free to post your comments!

Great report, Adam. And Renee, that dole whip looks heavenly! -
As promised..... Here's a description of what you'll see in the following video: NOTE: For starters, all footage was transferred from old VHS tapes to DVD, edited, and then uploaded to TPR. As you might imagine, unfortunately some quality was compromised along the way. However, to my knowledge, it is currently the only existing footage of the ride on the internet. I hope you enjoy it, and it gives you an idea of the awesomeness! - The footage starts out showing the first level of interaction. It was always like the "starter," or "novice" level to get new riders accustomed to the ride. You'll notice as the video progresses that the owner/operator would occasionally slow the ride down after the first level to reconnect the "meatballs" that failed miserably. You should also be able to notice how the speed and height of the swings increases at different levels. - Footage from inside the operator's booth starts at 4:24. - At 6:51 you can see the owners demonstrate their skills on the ride with no other riders present. They make it look effortless. Something to notice though is perfect spacing of the swings. Even with empty seats, you were never in danger of really slamming into an open swing in front or behind you. - POV begins at 12:05. Disregard the two kids in front of the camera. They were young and disconnected early. Thus, they had to swing alone the whole ride. ENJOY!! Like it? Hate it? Would you ever ride it? Have you ridden it in the past, and would like to share your memories of it? I'm anxious to hear everyone's thoughts on the ride. And any positive feedback will certainly help concerning the ride's future. So please, feel free to post your comments!

This sums up my thoughts on the park, except for Dinosaur. I never forget they have Dinosaur. -
That drop looks a lot like a drop to me. Maybe not so much of a drop, but quite possibly a drop. Also, the Beastie Boys are known to let the beat drop, Demi Moore's character in One Crazy Summer played a gig at the Dew Drop Inn, and Doug Flutie executed the last successful drop kick in the NFL for an extra point after a touchdown on January 1, 2006. So, in conclusion, it would appear to be a drop.....or possibly a drop. Still tough to tell though. I think we need more pictures for confirmation, or at least another page or so of the word "drop."

Certainly. Yoko Ono is another popular choice I haven't heard from yet....although I couldn't care less about that either. -

Or even Bam Bam from the Flinstones. I mean, he was able to shake the ground and stuff, right? He must be an expert on earthquakes. And where's Aquaman when you need him? Yep. By the way, does anyone know in what order Captain Sulu was interviewed by rank of celebrities? I had him as "Famous Japanese representative #3" in my office pool. -
Really? Hmmm, over 100 years huh? Well, in that case you should probably have had plenty of time to realize hockey's violent. Period. Unless you, Satan (Bettman), and the rest of the pansy owners wanna bubble wrap your players, you'll just have to deal with the fact that freak accidents will continue to occur every now and then, regardless of how you "try" to improve players' safety. Bottom line: You want examples of unacceptable violence? Google McSorley or Bertuzzi.....not Chara. Sheesh, I f***ing hate Montreal. Quit overreacting like little bitches. It doesn't help the game any.

When did they start serving lobster rolls at Tomorrowland Terrace? And if it's been a while, how did I miss that?? -
Ask Travis Roy, freak accidents happen. I do wish a speedy recovery for Pacioretty though. Go B's!

I think the weather really plays a big role around that time of year. It can be pretty unpredictable, which is probably why, like Joe, we've also seen varying crowd sizes. And nope, nothing new other than DDD, except I don't think that's supposed to open until Memorial Day weekend?

Boomerang Cactus Coaster Half Pipe Mind Eraser Sidewinder Twister II I'd call it "The most undesirable park visit in America." EDIT: Aw, crap. It seems as though Elitch Gardens beat me to it. -

Why doesn't the blonde have her own page? -
^ I believe the technical term for that is actually just "noise." I don't think there's any music involved. For me, okay, I'll admit it......Katy Perry. Hi, Tyler.

^ I agree....well maybe not with the marriage part though. It may be the best looking Porsche ever. Even though I'm usually not too keen on modern convertible or targa top supercars, this one just kinda works....really well. And I'm sure Joe loves all that carbon fiber on the interior. Meanwhile, I'm liking the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 as well. And check out the F1 concept below it. Thoughts?

Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
BeemerBoy replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I keep my lists simple. I have three categories for both steel and wood: "Great" / "Meh" / "Will never step foot on it again." And it really doesn't matter to me where they end up in the polls, because for instance, it's not like I'm sitting around waiting for the steel poll results to determine whether I'm going to Deep South Bash or anything. -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
BeemerBoy replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Are repetitive discussions about wooden coaster rankings? And for the record, I rode Voyage again this past season at night during Holiwood Nights. It was brutal, and it sucked....unlike several years ago. If I would have bothered to fill out a poll, Raven would've had it beat by a mile or so. -
Like this example involving Toyota?
