Intimidator 305 - KD 2010 [NL]

Looking forward to this very much. -
^ I agree, though I have to say and have been meaning to say it in many other threads. Please don't take it too personally but these TINY screenshots are getting to be annoying. I by no means want you to give up all your surprises but this tiny teasers by you and others are just... I don't know how to put it without being a jerk so I won't. The little picture does look nice though. On a side note, you mentioned that you want to keep this park NCS and there for do not want to use custom rides. I really don't think using custom rides affects that decision. Rides are not scenery. Any type of ride that fits an area you plan on recreating should really be considered as not scenery but part of the park itself. It's an apples and oranges hind of thing. It would be like making a recreation of Port Aventura and using an "X" train for the Furius Baco instead of the JA's version of the real thing. Just my opinion though. Given what we have seen so far your park is going to amazing either way. Looking forward to your next update!

Goliath513, I must have misunderstood what your were talking about in Pirates Bay thread. If you still need the rafts they are at RCT-Mart. They were made by Methusalem. There is also an other version located in RCT-Marts lost and found area. If I would have known that was all you needed I would have just directed you to the file(s). Sorry. As for Maze Mode, I just tried it. It ran just fine when it was a complete circuit, so then I tried the just the water slide part by raising the cover slide up. Made the invisible slide visible and removed the lift. In maze mode the ride did not error trap but did however crash. A picture of the ride crashing when set in Maze Mode with the lift removed.

Lands of Enchantment [RCT2]

Thanks for the coming release of your latest version of EA. Looking forward to it. Just want to give you a heads up in case you haven't had it happen to you. The link on the first page of your EA thread has been taken over by a Spy-ware site. When you click on it they infect your computer and then want to sell you the fix for the problem they started. Sorry, I had to report it to TPR. I didn't want anyone else to have the problem I just got. I am currently doing total system scan trying to get rid of the problem. -
^ That would definitely be a really cool addition to this kind of ride and for that matter every RCT ride, I am going to have to give that a try very soon. Wish I would have found that before I made the water park. Really would have come in handy. Also at ^ there was a post you made in my water park thread mentioning how you wanted to take apart my Lazy River and try to see how I did it. I was thinking about doing a how to on in a few weeks, it is very complicated. Are you still wanting to figure it out on your own or would you rather me just show you and everyone else. If you would like to try it on your own I will wait till the park is released in a month or so and then post a "How To" about it after you've had a go at it. For the sake of not making these "How To" topics any more of a challenge than they already are for people trying this stuff for the first time I think I will not be adding in that entrance/exit trick into these topics. I think it was at NE that I learned how to rotate the entrance/exits for the first time and I used that several times in the water park I sent to them a few weeks ago. I didn't share any of those pictures with anyone though. Everyone will see it soon enough when the park comes out. The 6 racing slides entrance area is something to see. It confuses me every time I go back and look at it. Being able to remove the entrances would have made it a lot less crowded in that area and a lot easier to see what I was doing.

The "Preview" Thread

^ Is this going to be the origanl layout for the coaster at Kenny Wood? I have always wanted to ride it but it was gone before I ever made it to KW. I did enjoy the Revenge though. -
Hello RCT2'ers, in this "How To" I will be showing you how to make a basic water slide so you don't have the return lift showing and the slide will run a full capacity. In other words there is not just a single raft that slides down and then slowly reverses course back to the start. In this "How To" you will also be shown how to edit your slide after you thought you were done with it and how to build the tight paths down from the loading station and shown what happens when you try to build a path that crosses an invisible track and how to fix the issue. Also the basics of putting senery in at the loading and unloading stations. This is probably the EASYEST hack you will ever do. With this ride/slide version there really is no merging involved. There is however the laying of track on top of invisible track. Slide merging to create racing slides will be in a different "How To" and so will Water Coasters. What you need: Amazing Earls water slide ride (available at the bottom of this "How To") The Dinghy Slide from the RCT2 game itself Most current version of 8cars-v132 (page 13 in the RCT help thread) SOB (Son Of Beast) trainer (optional) Any water scenery items you may want, quarter tile waterfalls and such (available at in the download) WARNINGS: Always save your game before you start any hack and save often under different names while hacking. Never try to edit any invisible track EVER!, you will crash your game! Always make it visible again. Never try to edit any track that has be laid on top of an invisible track, your game may crash. Raise it back up first. OK, here we go, first I will show you how to make a normal waterside from there you can skip ahead to the finish or stick around and learn how to edit you slide once you thought you were done. Next will be how to put paths to the entrance and exit and show you how to fix the invisible ride/path conflict problem and finally putting in some splash down scenery. This is all so easy your going to love it and I hope to see working slides in every park that includes a water play area. Step 1: Build yourself a water slide. I always find it easiest to build backwards from the ground up. You can make it with as few as 1 station section at each end or as long as you want it to be. I have found that 3 works really well. Here's the break down, 1=1, 2=2, 3=3/4, 5=5 and so on. The reason I like 3 station sections is that it gives me 4 sliders and a decent gradual slowing of the guest on the slide when he reaches the end. With shorter stations the quest stops very hard and with longer ones the guest slows down to much to soon. You will also notice I a really build this with AE's Water slide not the Dinghy slide from the game. The reason for this is when you change track types or vehicle (in this cast the raft) in RCT2 you get lots of breakdowns. If you use the right track and vehicle in the first place this does not happen. Step 2: You need to connect the top and bottom of the ride. Do this in the shortest way possible you need to get the invisible rafts back to the top quickly. In this picture you can see the lift. You will need to put a tunnel on at the crest of the hill in order to keep the invisible rafts from flying off and crashing. You will notice that the crest is 5ft taller than the station. That is in case of a breakdown it will give the raft some momentum to get back to the station if it stalls on the lift. You may be wondering why the rafts would fly off the hill? Well I will explain that later. Step 3: This is what you should have when you are done. If you have several slides grouped together of course it is going to look a lot more crowded. Just try to keep them all straight by using different colors. Also if you your slides are really long you may want to put in FLAT section of lift right at the end of the exit station to give the rafts a boost to the lift hill. In this case the slide is short so it really is not needed. Step 4: You need to get a second waterside started 10ft above the first. Once again make sure you use the water slide not the Dinghy slide. This time DO NOT put any kind of station on at either end. This track will be the one you see in the game. Step 5: At this point you will need to exit out and get 8cars started. Once you do, Select "0" clearance in the miscellaneous tab and them select absolute. Go back to the game. You need this running because your are going to be hitting the original slide while you build the second one. Even if your slide never crosses over itself you will still need it when you hit a steep drop area. Once you finish following the slides course make sure you stop 1 tile space away from the station. You need this area to be blank when you make the ride invisible so you can put in water senery. At the end of the slide you can make the splash down area as long or short as you want. I usually leave about 4 sections off and start the splash down one section before the rider hits the beginning of the station. To keep things simple for this "How To" I made it only one section long. Step 6: Once again exit out to 8cars. Go back to the miscellaneous tab and restore clearances. Then while your still out of the game hit the rides tab and find the first slide you made. Change the track type to Crooked House and then change the vehicle type to Dinghy Slide (the only reason we are doing this is to see the ride working). Next we need to adjust the speed of the lift. Set to at least 35. We want that raft to get back to the top as FAST AS POSSIBLE but at the same time there really is no need to go crazy about it. Regaurdless this is why you MUST put a tunnel at the crest of the lift hill. The tunnel will keep the raft on the track. Now chechmark make ride invisble and hit apply. Go back to your game and you should see what's pictured. Go ahead an test it. If you made a 3 section station you should have 4 rafts but only see 2 once the ride is testing. In this picture raft 1 is on the way down with a support pole in the middle of it and rafts 2,3 and 4 are all stuck together going up. Don't worry about the rafts being stuck it will fix itself when the ride is open. Step 7: Exit back out to 8cars and find the second water slide. Set color to MAIN (unless you used a different color) and then set height offset to -2 (negative 2). Next put a check mark in raise or lower and uncheck make invisible if it is still checked. Then hit apply and go back to your game. When your done the slide should be at the same level as the station buildings. Step 8: Test it out again. This time the rafts should be in the slide and only floating when they are on the lift going back to the top. If all looks good, exit back to 8cars and find your first water slide. All we are going to do is change the vehicle type back from Dinghy Slide to Water slide. Once you have selected Water Slide make sure nothing is check marked then just hit apply. YOU DID IT, you are technically DONE! From this point the ride should function properly and you can add you senery and footpaths. But... Step 9: What if you are not happy with the slide you want to add some tunnels that you forgot to put in. Whatever you do, DO NOT try to edit the ride while it sitting on top of the invisible track. You will CRASH your game. We must first raise it back up. Simply exit back to 8cars, find your second slide. Set color to MAIN (or whatever you used), set the height offset to +2 (not ZERO (0) but POSITIVE 2). Check mark raise or lower and hit apply. Go back to your game an make your changes. One thing you will notice for the first time is you will see height marks floating in space. That is your invisible track. It is of course still there and still has clearances. So if you change some part of the ride were it will make contact with the invisible slide you will need to exit out to 8cars and "0" clearance absolute again. Step 10: First thing you will notice about this picture is that the Dinghy Slide rafts are back. I did that on purpose. If "I" had changed mine at this point the rafts could not be seen so I left my as Dinghy Slides just for the pictures. Anyway, now that you have your new visible slide altered to suit your needs we just need to lower it back down. So exit back to 8cars and find Water Slide #2 again, set color to Main, height offset to -2 (negative 2) and put a check in the box for raise/lower. Hit apply and once again go back to the game. Your newly altered slide it ready to go. Just put on some paths and open it up. But... Step 11: Now we have PATH ISSUES. You will find that when you make a slide it is a huge challenge sometimes to get the path down to the ground, a super challenge when you have more than one slide. This is the best way to get down in the least amount of space. You need to find the path you want to use and attach it like what is shown in the picture. The reason you do this now is because we are about to do a lot of "0" clearance's. One you "0" clearance it will be almost impossible to attach to the entrance. So if at all possible do it first! Step 12: Now exit out to 8cars and "0" clearance absolute again. Why absolute you might ask since we can use relative instead and not get all the glitches. Well the reason is you have an invisible track out there and if you hit it with relative the game will not allow you to pass through and in this case you may have noticed from the last picture the I did hit the invisible track. Go check the picture again if you didn't notice. The path makers next square is lit up in the ground but the ghost path that is pictured here is missing indicating that I hit something and can go no further. So save yourself some time and just use absolute. Since we already attached a section of path to the entrance we are ready to go. Start on your way down. Step 13: Once you make it around back to where a path you have laid down while in the current "0" clearance mode you will be stopped by the game. Guess what, it's a clearance issue. You will have to exit out to 8cars each time you hit this spot on the way down. in this case I had to "0"clearance 5 times to get to the bottom. But it was well worth it because of the amount of space I saved. Step 14: As you can tell we made it to the ground. Now we need to go work on the exit. You will notice that the game is still set at "0" clearance. Keep it that way and move to the exit. Step 15: Now, being on the ground even though we are "0" clearance it is easy to attach to the exit and I did. HERE'S THE PROBLEM!. When we try to pass through the invisible track of the water slide a gap appears in the pavement even though I have the footpath selector set on continuous build mode. Why did this happen? The answer is... I have NO IDEA! It has something to do with being at the exact same level as the invisible track and BOTH are FLAT. If you recall and if you don't you will see a picture next of what I am talking about. That very spot is where the water slide track finishes it's curve back around and is about to head upwards. It is FLAT, just like the path that is trying to cross through it is. And like magic what was so simple turns into a mess. Guests can't get out, mechanics and handymen can't get in. Step 16: Fixing this issue. I want to start off by saying this may never happen to you and I could have avoided it if I would have just turned and went the other way or built the exit building on the other side. Here's the big BUT... chances are at some point your paths are going to cross something that is you made invisible and this issue is going to happen. Don't think it only happens on the ground either it can happy at the entrance also while you are trying to get your path down to the ground. The simplest way to avoid this is to just ALWAYS build your paths BEFORE you make your ride invisible and lower the other one. Then you will never have this problem. However if for any reason you go back and change any path near an invisible track years later in the game, it can happen then. So here's how to fix it. We need to raise the top water slide back up 10ft. So exit out to 8cars, find the water slide 2 and set color to Main, height offset to +2 (positive 2) and check mark raise/lower. Then hit apply. Next we need to find water slide 1 and make it visible again. So we change the track type back from Crooked House to it's original state of Water Slide and hit apply (make sure that both raise/lower and make invisible are NOT checked). Go back to your game and this is what you should see. Step 17: Now we can fix this stupid path issue. If your still at "0" clearance just build right through if not you will need to be. Once done you can get rid of the footpath maker. I strongly suggest you give the area a good look around and think about what you might do in the future so you can lay out your paths before we have to go through this again. In the next picture you can see I did make a change in the paths. I added a water slide viewing area. Believe it or not even though really didn't alter the path we just fixed expect to connect to it, if the slide was invisible the gap would have shown up again. Step 18: We need to make water slide 1 invisible again so exit out to 8cars and find slide 1, change the track type back to Crooked House and put a check mark in the Make Rides Invisible box and hit apply. Remember I am keeping mine vehicles Dinghy Slides just for the pictures, you should have switched back to water slide vehicles a long time ago. Next up is lowering Waterside #2 back down. Set color to Main (or whatever your used), set height offset -2 (negative 2), put a check mark in raise/lower (make sure make invisible in not checked) and hit apply. Now everything should be back to normal. In the picture I am showing you once again that when testing you get 1 raft and then the rest are stuck together. I took this shot because the one's stuck together were a little off and thought you might like to see it, of course yours should be invisible at this point. Step 19: Since we are using the Crooked House to make the ride invisible the ratings you will get will be that of a Crooked House so this is were you will need to use the SOB trainer. So exit your game and start it up. Step 20: Once the SOB trainer is up and running select the rides tab and then modify rides. One in, you need to find your water slide. So locate water slide 1 and it should have ratings similar to what was on picture above. Change the Excitement, Intensity and Nausea to whatever you want and put a check mark in the Freeze Ratings box for each that you changed. Keep SOB running and go back to the game. We have a few more things to do. Step 21: At this point you really need to get the ride running so either keep it on test or open it up. Doing this helps hold the ratings you set with the SOB trainer. Ratings are a unpredictable with SOB. Sometimes they stick and other times no matter what you do they just won't. Don't worry about it. Guests still like to ride Crooked Houses and will still ride your slide. There will just be less of them than what you may want. In this picture you can see where we need to do some work. Right now the guests are starting their ride floating in mid air and ending with grass in their teeth. Like I stated before, I usually make the splash zone at the end about 4 sections long but in this case I only used one. Step 22: Find your water senery and arrange it at the end of the ride, use as much or as little as you want. Put up a wall to simulate keeping the water contained. If your not still at "0" clearance you will need to do so in order to place your senery. Remember there is still a station there you just can't see it. Step 23: Putting the senery at the rides start. This can be a bit tricky and you may be tempted to just hit construct on water slide 1 and make the construction box show up under the station so you know where to go. DO NOT DO IT! You will CRASH your game! You just have to eyeball it and since you have to be in "0" clearance mode it just makes it that much more difficult. Keep raising and lowering your senery items till you get the right spot. Once you have one scenery item in place the rest should be easy. Just use the "control" key to place everything else at the same height. Of course if you were to build a slide complex like I did several times in Pirate Bay the challenge just increased, just as the challenge to get paths down from the uppers stations became a huge hassle. YOU ARE DONE! The only thing left to do is enjoy watching your creation and some major custom supports if your into that kind of thing. If you want to see this slide in operation for yourself there is a download of it below. Of course I fixed up the place quite a bit. I have no idea why, it just happened. Enjoy and Good Luck with your water slides! If you need any help please speak up. I will try to help you anyway I can. AE-WSLID.DAT AE's Water Slide, if you do not have this in your game already you will need it to make water slides. It is non-exporting so you have to put it in manually. Basic Water Slide.SV6 Here is the small park with this version of a water slide. The park is open and also has food, drinks, restrooms and 2 coasters running to keep the guests busy and happy.

^ Now those are object I can't recall ever seeing anywhere, but I will keep an eye out for them, I am in the middle of a complete ObjData overhaul and have about 20,000 new objects I need to go through, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't something RRC related in there somewhere. For the time being I would just focus on the main structure and it's surroundings until some items are found by you, myself or one of the members of TPR. EDIT: after doing a Google search I found nothing for RCT2, found some for RCT3 though. However according to the Object Data Base there are 4 RRC items out in the world somewhere. D-DRO1 - Disney's Rockin RollerCoaster Wall 1 (wall/simple) ...that's an O not a zero(0) D-DRO3 - Disney's Rockin RollerCoaster Wall 2 (wall/simple) ...also an O not a zero (0) RKROCKN - Rock N RollerCoaster Poster (wall/simple) RRCLOGO - Rockin RollerCoaster Logo (2x2 large) A few other items you might find interesting are: LCHDRCGU - Hard-Rock-Cafe-Guitar (small/full) DK2CDS - Rock N Roll CD Sign (2x1 large) ricmus15 - Rock Band Tour Bus (3x3 large - converted TT scenery item) EPCOT - Disney Epcot Sign (2x1 large) DKDTOUR - Disney Productions Tour Sign (wall/simple) I would suggest putting up an ad for the items you want in the Lost Objdata topic: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53557 And I would also suggest joining the forums at RCT2 Objects Data Base. When I need a few items they found everything but 1, couldn't have been more pleased. http://www.rct2objectlist.com/ -
Wow it does look good, well done, goes to show that you really don't need the waterfall scenery if you plan it out so the drops are a single lane wide. Now the only thing you need to work on is angling the ends of your lifts and drops so you don't get the block look when they start and end. It's just a matter of continuing the slop instead of leveling off and at the top of the hill/lift angling it back down. Then it will look seamless in the water. The other way to do it just raise the land up at an angle to hide the ends of the rapids track. If anyone else out there is giving this a try it would be great to see how it turned out for you. Please post some pictures and if your having any problems please don't hesitate to ask here in the thread. I will try to help you as soon as I see your post about it or I'm sure anyone else (like hydra) that now has it figured out sees your question they can help you also.

That looks fantastic, love the dormer windows (think that's what they are called) in the building on the right. If you think you will not be returning to Epic Adventures would you be up for putting it out for download so we all can see how far it is along and enjoy some time in your park. Even if it's not done or up to your current standards I for one would love to spend some time in your Epic Adventures park. -
Cool, am so happy it worked for you. Wasn't too hard to do after all was it?, of course the more you do it the faster it goes and less you really have to think about what your doing. Please hold on to that older 8cars trainer, the older one(s) can come in handy for things. Just put it somewhere safe. If you get a chance would you mind putting up a few pictures of your test rapids for everyone to see and also were there any points where my directions got confusing and need to be adjusted? Did you try the underwater version first or go straight for the proper/finished way? Anyway, thanks for the update, you made my day. ...mcjaco (if you see this), is there a problem with the meter that tells how many times a download has been done, for example the small park I have posted in this topic says it "has yet to be downloaded" and I have noticed in other threads I have downloaded items from also say "has yet to be downloaded" when I know someone did, that someone being me. No big deal was just wondering.

Such a simple little building and surrounding yet done so NICE! -
That would be very nice, so far there are at least 3 more being asked for so we will see how far this goes. Just to make clear to everyone... there is always going to be another way of doing things, the way I may do it is not always going to be the best way or the only way to get it done, it is just the way "I" know how "I" do it. No one showed me how to do what I showed you in this thread, I had to figure it out on my own. The lack of people willing to share information about things like this is why I decided to make this topic in the first place. I want anyone who wants to be able to do even the smallest of hacks to be able to see how it can be done.

^ No rush good man, quality always over quantity... whoops, I forgot I work for GM it the other way around. Will you be using the Cadillac Ride from WW to make the trains with? I do hope so. They would look more like the real coaster train used on the ride. If you don't have WW I found a site that has a non-WW version. http://www.rct2objectlist.com/index.php?/files/file/147-limousine-coaster/ ... you might have to sign up to get access to the downloads, so if so here is the home page. http://www.rct2objectlist.com/ Speaking or this site, It gives me the chance to make my Thunder Lakes park WW/TT free, is there any interest out there form anyone who wanted to see the park but couldn't because of the use of the expansions? If so I will get to work on it. Oh yea, almost forgot. ^^^^ Is that what I think it is? Loch Ness Monster and Alpengeist? EDIT: Sorry The ScooterGuy, didn't see you already had a thread going and you already had the coaster. EDIT (again) Lone Rider asked about making a Deja Vu clone quite a few posts back and I ment to respond, so I sent this information to him via PM but I figured I would share it with all of you just in case you ever wanted to make a coaster like this. So from the good people over at RCT Space here is the step by step information on how to make one of these great RCT2 coasters. Give it a try it's a great way to get in some practice. http://rcttutorials.bizhat.com/hack5.htm -
^Correct me if I am wrong but what your talking about is what is located on my 3rd picture. Just the normal River Rapids with the water pulled up over it. That is not what this "How To" is about. It is about getting rid of the River Rapids track altogether and making it so the rafts seem to float on the water without any track at all. Yes it is a long way of doing things but that is only because I wanted to show what would happen if you did it wrong before you did right and the cause of the problem. That is how I got the picture of the rafts underwater. Fixing the problem is part of the learning experience. Whatever happened to that park anyway it looked so nice? ^^ Yes I was planning on doing a "How To" for traffic also. How to merge multiple types of cars onto the same track and make it look like they are just driving around. Your ideas are great and should work up to a point. I don't know how you can time an effect to go along with the traffic or make them crash into each other and cause an effect, but I do like the use of reverser to simulate an out of control vehicle

^ You'll get it done sooner or later. But until then a little update would be nice to see especially if it is a beautiful as the last one. ^^ Great looking start, one of the best NCS Kart tracks I think I have ever seen! -
NOTE: If anyone is going to do this and they prepare the land so that it is ready to go before they build the Rapids Ride and then build ride on top of the water in the first place they can of course skip the hole rafts underwater problem and get right to the finished product. However the raft underwater issue is a GREAT learning experience for all. ^ You are referring to the Water Coaster from Pirate Bay, correct? If so I can do that "How To" next. Well not next but second to next. A basic part of the ride construction requires instruction for a normal water slide first. So I think I will do that "How To" before I do the Water Coaster just to make understanding the construction of the Water Coaster easier.

Well I took your suggestion and made a step by step guide on how to do an invisible River Rapids. Just because I did it doesn't mean I expect your park to change. It is GREAT the way it is! It all really goes back to my water park. I had so many people ask in the thread how I did this or that and about 15 PMs about it. I said I would explain everything so this "How To" is just the start. If it gets some positive feedback I will make more. It took me over 6 hours to get that one put together so I won't do it again if no one is interested. I just needed a little push and your comment was it. So thank you. I know that a lot of other people have made this type of River Rapids before (mainly at NE) but no one ever bothers to really explain how it's done, what can go wrong and why it happens. So there you go a complete "How To". -
Hi everyone, while my ObjData folder is in shambles I figured why not do the step-by-step "how to" mentioned by hydra so here it is. 30 pictures with specific instruction along with each one explaining everything. To do the Invisible River Rapid w/Single Rail Coaster bumpers you will need to have the most current 8cars trainer available (version 132) on page 13 in the RCT2 help thread and as an option that I will explain when the time comes you may want to have the SOB (Son Of Beast) trainer as well. FYI - There is no MERGING of any kind to do this trick. But you must follow these instructions or you may crash your game. So save often and under different names. There is a MERGING version of River Rapids, it is very difficult and aggravating to try but it allows for the use of large curves on rides like this. I will have a "How To" on this one of these days. OK, here we go. PS... A download of this little park is available. So grab a copy and use to practice what was shown in this "How To". Always better to practice before you take something like this in a park that really matters to you. Just for fun I opened the park and put in a few Stock Coaster and Food and included a cool little park map dispenser I came across the other day. What better way to see the River Rapids working than with guest on it. Enjoy. In this first picture we have the area where the rapids will go fully landscaped to fit the ride and the ride is in place. Note the steps at the rides drop areas, they are for the water fall slope senery pieces. Second we have the senery items in place and are ready to put the water in around the ride. OK, this is how we get the water around the ride, first open the 8cars trainer and select the MISILANIOUS tab at the far right. Select 0 Clearances and then ABSOLUTE. Go back the game and raise the water to the proper level. Now we are going to put in the parts of the River Rapids ride that will NOT be invisible when the ride is complete. Since we already 0 Clearance the game for the water there is no need to do it again (unless you went back out and restored them). Put a starter piece 10 game feet above the under water ride. In my case it was at 15 because the other is at 5. Make sure that BOTH rides are going in the same direction! Now that you have the second River Rapids going, follow the old track. You don't have to follow it piece for piece just so long as you get to where you need to be and are still going in the same direction as the original ride. The four sections of track in this case that are important are circled in the picture. After you get the sections you need remove all the other track from the game and you should be left with what is pictured. Just for fun we are going to do each down slop differently. One will have the in-game track sections for the down and the other will use water fall scenery. In this shot you will notice that the water fall scenery is in place but the track above has not been removed yet. To get the scenery placed on top of the track should not have been an issue since we are still at 0 clearances... RIGHT!?! If not you will need to go back out of the game to 8cars and hit 0 clearance ABSOLUTE again. Now remove the section of track you no longer will be using and you are left with this. If you plan on always using senery items for the down slopes on River Rapids rides you never need to put the track piece in over top. Like I said before I am just showing you how to do both. Now the fun begins. The installation of the rails that keep the rafts from going off course. In the game that will never happen it is just for looks. Even when the track is invisible the rafts will follow it as if it was not. Go to the coaster menu and open the Single Rail Coaster. Start the track anywhere you want. Keep it just outside the course of the ride or if you prefer make the path wider in places to add scenery in places like fountains. In this picture we have made landfall with coaster track and can go no further. To make the track look like it went into the ground, raise the land and make a tunnel. Now build the track like usual. At this point your game should still be 0 clearance right? RIGHT. Well that doesn't matter any more, exit back to 8cars and 0 clearance ABSOLUTE again. With the fresh O clearance done you can lower the land over the track and replace the water. For those who don't know, when you build something (anything) while in either 0 clearance mode the newly built item is not affected so you must 0 clearance again. We need to get the track across to the other side, so find a good spot and remove a few sections. Cross over and stop once you get a start on the other side. Now delete the track you used to cross over with back to where came from. You should have a section of track on one side of the ride and the rest on the other. Reconnect the original track and click on the piece that was left alone on the other side, once we get this side ended where the other one did a few pictures back we will be building both sides at the same time. This time the track ends in a curve. To make this work we need to lift up all four blocks and make the same kind of tunnel we made for the other side. And here is what it should look like, put in the track piece and exit back to 8cars, I know were are already at 0 clearance but like I said before we have to do it again. When your done pulling the land back down and bringing the water up this is what you get. Now take both sides of the Single Rail Coaster track and follow you River Rapids ride all along it's course until you hit a lift section again or run into land and need to repeat the process. In this picture we have both sections of Single Rail Coaster already in tunnels and are ready to 0 clearance it yet again. All better and now we need to get the coaster track down the hill and back to the start of the ride, in the case of this River Rapids it was done by just lowering the land one notch and going down the hill on each side, your park will be different just get it down there somehow. What you want to avoid is having to start another Single Rail Coaster for each elevation. You are only allowed so many rides in the park so don't waste them by being lazy. Use the same one over and over if you can. Here we are at the little area where the ride starts and where the first lift is. We just came down the hill and using the same raise land tunnel technique we made four more. This time all at once. When you get confident in what your doing you can save all the 0 clearances to the end and lower all the land back down at one time. All this was just to help get you on your way. So in the next shot all will be back to normal and we will be DONE with the Single Rail Coaster. At this point you can exit out to 8cars and RESTORE CLEARANCES. We will no longer need to use that funtion for the rest of the build. In this picture you will see the two down slope areas one with the River Rapids over it and one with nothing over it. You can also see I have highlighted the staiton area. WHY? Things are about to get bad and then GET WORSE. FOLLOW THESE INSTUCTIONS! Exit out to 8cars and if you haven't done it yet RESTORE clearances. Find the RIDES tab. In the rides time you will need to find the ride you are wanting to work on In this case it is the origanl River Rapids Ride. Depending on how may rides/stalls you have in the park this may be easy or hard to do. They are listed in the order they were built in the park and if you named them then the name you gave will show up if not sometimes it is blank or says coaster1 or pizza stall4. If you deleted a ride/stall at some point after building many others, the latest one put in the park will fill the now empty spot so let me give you an example. You have 75 attractions in your park right now. The 18Th ride/stall you put in you no longer want. So you remove it. Now there is a blank space at the number 18 spot. The next attraction you put in the park will not be number 76 it will be an new 18. So keep that in mind when searching for your ride. ---------- OK step one after you find your River Rapids ride is to change the "TRACK TYPE" to "CROOKED HOUSE or CIRCUS SHOW". If you want the ride to have music you must use Crooked House. Circus Show does not allow music and as you know guests love music. Step two put a "CHECK MARK" in the box that says "Make Invisible" and hit Apply. Go back to your game and this is what you get. Do you see a problem? I do the station went away and now I have a huge problem. Even though it looks empty it is not the ride is still there. So here is one solution... while the non invisible track is still raised ad several sections of normal straight track pieces. DO NOT USE STATION SECTIONS! Station sections will not raise or lower so don't do it! Once you have the track section in place it is time to lower the track(s) down to ride level. Step One - Exit back to 8cars and select the RIDES tab again. This time find the "OTHER" River Rapids ride. Step 2 - Set "COLOR SCHEME" to MAIN (unless you colored the track sections some other color). Step 3 - Height Offset, set it at -2 (negative two). That is the height difference I told you to use many pictures ago when the second River Rapid Ride was placed above the first. If you went with something different you will need to make that adjustment yourself. Step Four - CHECK MARK "RAISE or LOWER" and If by chance "MAKE INVISIBLE" is still checked you will need to UN-CHECK it. Hit Apply If all when well you should be looking at something similar to the picture above. The main track should be invisible, the single rail coaster should be unharmed and the sections that should be seen are lowered to the proper height. All is good right? LET'S TURN IT ON TEST! WHAT THE... Why are the rafts under water? Well here's the deal. You had to have noticed that the River Rapids ride is the only ride in the game that when at ground level is really 5 feet off the ground, by that I mean the track for the rafts sits on the ground but the rafts are really 5 feet up. So how did they end up under water, simple really when we switched the rides track to CROOKED HOUSE it lowered the rafts down 5 feet. So how do we fix this. Get ready to roll you eyes. We have to reverse everything we just did! Step One - Exit back to 8cars and find the second River Rapids ride again. Step Two - COLOR SCHEME set to Main again. Step Three - Height Offset raise it up to +2 (not "0", but POSITIVE 2) Step Four - Check Mark Raise/Lower once again and hit Apply. That should raise the visible sections back up. Go back to the game and make sure it happened. If not try it again. After you get the track raised back up we need to make the invisible track VISIBAL again. The trainer says it's can't be done but it most certainly can. Step One - Change the track type back from Crooked House to River Rapids. Step 2 if Raise/Lower is still checked, un-check it and if "MAKE INVISIBLE" is checked, un-check it also. Hit Apply and go back to your game. Everything should be back as though nothing happened. WARNING!!!!!! NEVER TRY TO CONSTRUCT A RIDE THAT IS INVISBLE YOU WILL CRASH YOUR GAME! You must always make it visible before you can alter it in any way. Also if you have any track laying on top of invisible track you MUST raise it back up before you make the invisible visible again, not doing so may also crash your game. I know it sounds like a lot of work but once you do it a few times it really is easy and fast to do. Now what we need to do is raise the original River Rapids track up 5 feet. We can do this two ways. One way is to just click on it and start construction again. To do this you will need to 0 clearance ABSOLUTE again. Once you remove a section raise it up 5 feet and remove and replace the entire ride until it looks like the picture above. The track should be sitting on top of the water!, and right below the raised sections. Option Two and by far the best way and fastest way. Remove the station area of the ride only. Angle up from one end and replace the station 5 feet higher than the rest of the ride. Replace the angle up section with the normal section. Now you should have a station that is 5 feet higher than the rest of the ride. Exit out to 8cars. Find the origanl River Rapids ride. Set Color Scheme to main and Height Offset to +5 (positive 5). Put a Check Mark in Raise/Lower and hit Apply. Go back to the game it should look like the picture. Just an up close look of what you should be seeing if you did everything right. If this is what you see go get a cookie and take a break! Here we go again. Exit back to 8cars and Set Track Type to CROOKED HOUSE, Put a check mark in MAKE INVISIBLE. Make sure Raise/Lower DOES NOT have a check mark and hit Apply. It should look like it did the first time we did this. Note this time I filled in the area where the station was with water. It really is your choice as to what you do with this area. I suspect most of you will build a station around it and it really won't matter what it looks like because no one will see it. Now lets lower those other sections back down. Exit back to 8cars and find the River Rapids #2 and Set your color scheme to main (or whatever you used). Height Offset to -2 (negative two), Check Mark Raise/Lower (if Make Invisible is checked, UN-CHECK IT). Hit Apply. Once done go back to the game and this is what you should see when you turn on the ride. Rafts on top of the water instead of under it. You will notice that I circled one of the rafts. Well to be honest it is not just one raft it is 5 all piled up on each other and they are no longer called rafts they are Buildings! This is the Crooked House part of the trick. When rides are set to Crooked House they will pile up at the station and when in test mode will all leave at once. It will not hurt anything. Just let it go. You will also notice that no matter how exiting the ride should be it's ratings suck! That's because the ride now has the ratings of a Crooked House. Once the ride is open and you set the dispatch times the rafts will separate but the ratings will still stink. In order to fix this you need the SOB trainer. Here is how it's done. Exit out and open SOB. Give it a few seconds it loads slow! Once you are able to get it working hit the RIDES tab. Then MODIFY RIDE OPTIONS. Next find your ride. Once again they are in the order you placed them in the park just like it was with 8cars. However SOB does not always follow the fill in the gap rule like 8cars does. Once you find the ride you will see it's ratings at the bottom. Should be something like 2.15/Excitment, 0.62/Intesity and 0.34/Nausea. Change them to what ever you want and check mark FREEZE for each one you changed. Leave the trainer running and go back to your game. After the game runs for a while save it and your made up stats should be set permanently. Now you can exit out and close SOB. These next 2 pictures are just me showing you a other way to make the lift and drop sections of the River Rapids look a little better. It is just a matter of angling the sections so they go down into the water rather than just being there. If you decide to do this after you have made the ride you can. I did it while it was running. Raising the sections back up will not affect the ride or any guest on it. The ride will continue under the raised areas as if floating in space. Once you change the angles you simply lower them back down. This is the finished look with the sections angled down. It is a much cleaner appearance when compared to what it looked like up a few pictures. Hope you have enjoyed this installment of "HOW TO"! Just a little something I picked up a French RCT site the other day. It is the best non obstructive Map dispenser I have ever seen. LOVE IT! River Rapids (invisible).SV6 Invisible River Rapids
