  1. What in the world did you type to get the 'I like small boys in tights' to show up, your not the first post I've seen that on. It is a forum funny like typing LOCK3RS = lockers. No, I like RCT3 better than RCT2. I just can't play it. I own it and it sits on top of my computer desk collecting dust. As for the water park, the funnel element was something I was working on but could never get it to function right so in the end it was scrapped.
  2. I wish I could but my computer will not handle RCT3. I was going just off the pictures.
  3. ^ that really did make me Laugh - Out - Loud
  4. WOW, that woodie to the left is huge! I just picked on you (jokingly) in the Help thread and mentioned looking forward to seeing the pictures you were trying to find and ta-da here they are. On your racers, how about using some 1/4 wide turns to bring the return part of the ride back toward the outward part. Then using the same turns to bring it back out for the ending. It will help break the ride up a little bit and give it some excitement for the riders and the eyes. The double loop-er looks great wouldn't change a thing with it other than adding in more scenery. If you raise the land around parts of the flume ride it will also fit in better with is surrounding.
  5. ^ Good, don't be stupid again! I look forward to seeing the pictures you were trying to find in the Preview Thread or your own park topic.
  6. Just a heads up, next time don't make a new topic just to do an update. You can go back to your first post and edit the title and put new information about your park there and then just post below everyone else to move it back to the top. The water park looks pretty good concidering how long you said it took you to do.
  7. ^^ Go to the screenshots folder and at the top of the window, there should be a "Compatibility Files" button. Press it. Photos magically appear. Anytime you don't see files where they should be, chances are they are just in the Compatibility Files area. It's Vista being more complicated than it's supposed to be. [the actual location of the Compatibility Files section is extremely obscure...which sucks]
  8. Honestly I don't think it is too small, kind of reminds me of the indoor section at Mt. Olympus in the Dells. All it has in it is a few flats and a spinning mouse along with a some food and drink. Or maybe on a bit larger scale Circus Circus in Vegas.
  9. I can see nothing to offer to you in any of those pictures, really like what I see. Well Done!
  10. ^ Agree, Oak Land is much better than Oakland.
  11. That is quite the tangled mess of track you there on the Ravager. These types of tracks really are not my kind of things but they are fun to look at. Hope you scale it back a bit and try your hand at building something a little more realistic in size. Good luck with your future coasters and as always HAVE FUN, that's what it is all about after all!
  12. Well, it is clear you need to slow down and think about where you are placing items in your park. Putting in items like a Burger Bar facing the exit path of a ride is never a good idea. Rides and even more import stalls need to be placed with a purpose behind it. This is how you control where your guest are going in the park. Place new items in with older ones, make the guest have to walk to specific place to get something to eat/drink preferably past rides so they will stop and ride them on the way to the bathroom that is located down the path somewhere away from the food. This type of set up keeps them moving from place to place giving them a reason to explore the park. You have nice start to what looks like will be fun family park when finished. Keep going and just take your time and think things out before you place them. Look forward to what you post next.
  13. Just want to toss this out here for anyone interested, there is a site called The Definitive RCT Reference Guide and it has all kinds of information about RCT. If you want to know why you can't get the ratings up on a Swinging Ship even though you put all kinds of scenery around it the explanation for it and all other rides is available from the site. Ever want custom music for you Carousel or Dodgems? Well you can find things like that also. The site is aimed at RCT and it's two expansions CF & LL but 99% of the information is the same for RCT2.
  14. It can be a simple but not always. Really depends on your computer system. Your computer should have came with a "Paint" program. BMPs are made for paint. When you view a BMP there should be a tab or option somewhere to get into paint with the picture(s). Once there you can re-save the picture as any type you want. JEPG is recommended. It loads really fast and has a good quality. Looking forward to seeing your Easton Gardens park.
  15. Welcome to TPR! That building and rail line looks great! Just wondering if maybe a tram would have been a better choice. Looking forward to seeing more of this park and if it's done a download of it.
  16. What ^ said. I really enjoyed that. The park was so alive, almost too alive. Has to be one of the most crowed parks I can ever remeber seeing. Have to hand it to you for keeping that many guests happy in such a small space. I stuck with the #7 vote, if the coasters would have been a bit more thought out it would have jumped up 2 spots for me. FUN PARK! Looking forward to seeing more from you. If you can, next time change your pictures to JPEGs before you upload them. They will load faster for everyone. Loved seeing a log race the coaster down the hill.
  17. ^All three versions of 8cars should be fine, I use them myself. I think I'm the one who uploaded them here right off my computer. You have to remember these trainers were never intended to be used on systems running Vista, or Windows 7. Those systems were not around back then. I am running XP and I can set any program to run on any version all the way back to 95. I would think you should also be able pick what version to run it on. If Windows 7 will let you right click on the icon for 8cars and hit properties. From there find the compatibility tab and set it to XP or earlier. If you can set it to an earlier version and it is still crashing out your game try setting the game itself back to run on an earlier version of Windows. Please let me know if it works so I can pass it on to others if the question comes up again. ^^ The only thing I can think of is that while you were using a trainer you hit the wrong ride and changed it's settings causing the second train to launch, giving it the speed it needed to hit the other one stuck on the lift. As mentioned before the best way to keep coasters from crashing in RCT2 is to treat them like "real coasters" and use block brakes and if there is no way to get block sections onto the ride use only one train. I even use Block Brake Mode on coaster versions in the game like Side Frictions that don't offer it by setting the mode using 8cars. With the use of 2 stations and one lift hill you can get 2 trains on any type of coaster even if that type doesn't have block section track pieces. If you don't like your coaster trains sitting at the top of lifts waiting for the other train to finish it's course set the dispatch time so it doesn't happen. Once again, set it up like a real coaster would be.
  18. ^Cold weather should have no effect on the games rides. When you say crash do you mean a brake failure crash?, or trains valley-ing and being struck from behind or both? In either case if you run the rides in block brake mode they will not crash. You will need to change dispatch times and or reduce the number of trains to keep them running efficiently. Ride break downs are random acts, weather has no effect. Age however does. With that said a station brake failure can happen at any time even if the ride is new. The only defence against is to have a mechanic assigned to the exit of any coaster that arrives into the station at a fast pace. If he gets the call fast enough he can fix it before the crash happens.
  19. ^What you have is a bad file in your objdata folder. One that is conflicting with another or just plain bad causing the game to read invalid data. If you made a backup of your objdata file the easiest thing to do is just remove the one with the issue and replace it with your backup. If you have the DataChecker utility you can use it to check your folder for any bad DATs and remove them. They will have RED or YELLOW flags in front of them. Removing these flaged items may or may not solve the problem. If the options above don't work then try the next two options. They are not so easy. If you know what new files came from the park remove them and load them back in a few at a time till you find out which one is the bad file. Last resort take your bad objdat folder and make a copy and put it on your desktop. Make backups of your tracks folder, scenarios folder and saved games folders and put them somewhere safe. Uninstall RCT and what ever expansions you have. Re-install the game and put your saved folders back in but do not put the bad objdata folder back. Once have everything back where it belongs start loading in all the objects from your bad objdata folder one section at a time. Sort them by name and load back in all the A's and start your game to let them load in, then all the B's and start your game again, Rinse and repeat until you have everything A to Z back in your game. While copying the files back into the games objdata folder it will ask you if you want to replace files with versions from where your are copying them from. HIT NO! Do not replace any items! You will have to hit NO over and over again! When your load a "LETTER" group and the flashing load bar of death comes back you will know what letter it starts with. Remove them all and load them back in 10/20 or so at a time till you find the ONE problem DAT. Sometimes you will be able to load them all back in and never find the problem DAT. That is because when you hit "NO - do not replace" you stopped the bad DAT from taking the place of the good one and the problem was stopped before it started. Hope this helps. DatChecker.zip
  20. Can you attach a download for your park? I would really like to see it in game. From the pictures it looks like you've made yourself a nice non COS park in the this is just fun to play style. < That these days is rare and I am happy to see it! It's still my favorite way to play the game. Just from the pictures I would have to vote it in your poll #7, chances are that will go up if the tracked rides are smoth and well made.
  21. ^ & ^^, what operating system are each of you running 8cars with?
  22. The best trainer to use for editing ride stats is SOB (Son Of Beast) trainer and you will need RCTReliable to help keep the ride going after altering it's trains or other attributes. There are also other versions of 8cars on page 12 of this topic. Keep in mind that anytime you alter a ride stats the will usually reset after you exit your game and need to be altered again. Sometimes you get them to stick but don't count on it. These issues are where RCT2 fails compared to RCT. No one has ever came out with a Drexler type patch for the game to keep it stable while using trainers. Reliable_SOB.zip
  23. lol, just had that happen to me two days ago when I downloaded a bunch of stuff from the RCTobjectdata site. Had to remove everything I put in, now I need to find out witch one of the files caused it by loading them one group at a time.
  24. Well that pretty much takes care of the easy ideas. I really can't imagine a scenery item(s) causing this issue but have you tried removing them from your objdata folder yet? Can you put up what items they were or a link to where you got them? If you would like to, send me the park and lets see if the problem happens to me when I load it up and try to build a coaster. deltzroth@woh.rr.com
  25. I am not aware of any kind of scenry that would cause that issue. Questions? Do you have a cable lift coaster in the park? Do you have a launched lift hill coaster in the park? Are there any rides in the park that you used a trainer to alter the way they work? Did you download any new Rides?
