  1. ^ Yes, save all the files you want to keep and reinstall RCT2. It should solve the issue. Then put the saved files back in the game. If you were using any custom music/sounds leave those out until you have everything else put back in. Then try to install the custom music/sounds.
  2. ^Going to try the simple plan this time, just restart your computer and see what happens. Have had this issue myself and sometimes that is all it took to fix it.
  3. ^ What do you mean by "moved the map objdata into the folder"? You shouldn't have to "MOVE" anything in the objdata folder. There is only one exception to that and it would be non-exporting custom rides. Everything else should move automatically into your game. You don't even need to take the park out of the zip file. Just double click on it and it will load while still in the zip.
  4. Love the look of the old Arrow Shuttle Loop and it's placement. I can't say the same for the Impulse though. It is a good space filler but in this case I don't think the space needed filled. It is also a bit short on the take off end. I do like the way you supported it though. I suggest moving it to another location and making it's launch track longer before the front spike. Those kinds of coaster (Heartline Twisters, Impulse, Shuttle Loops) do make great filler rides so save that one till your in a spot that needs a coaster but you don't really have the space for it. This spot really doesn't need another coaster and it's just too small of an area even for an impulse. Great update and the park is really starting to look good!
  5. Speaking of that, just where have you been? Hope all is well on the personal side. If you didn't notice it check out my post that mentions you HERE. I have that beating stick around here somewhere and am not afraid to use it. And in case I missed anyone who is "NEW" and didn't give you a big WELOCME TO TPR sorry about that.
  6. ^ Does 2000 have the options to change what version of Windows to use with programs? Usually you can find that if you right click on them and hit Properties. If so try to run it in 98. It is much more stable than 2000. ^^ I have had that problem in the past, the only way I could fix it was to totally remove RCT2 from my computer. Just make a backup of your RCT2 Objdata folder, saved games, and anything else you want to keep and do a complete removal then reinstall. Move your saved items back in and you should be good to go. Make sure when you copy the DAT's from your saved Objdata folder back into the new one you hit NO every time it asks you if you want to replace an item. You will be hitting NO a couple of thousand times. You do not want any of the corrupted files to overwrite the new ones. It will only take you a few minutes of clicking NO. It goes really fast.
  7. ^ I totally agree. That Better Than Batman contest was a good one. It's a shame it failed. I really think the type of contest your wanting to do is just to much to expect. Maybe try something much more simple if you really want to have one. Check out THIS topic from back in 2006. I really think a small park build like this would make a much better contest. It is something that could be done in a week or two. Granted the one I linked to had WW/TT items in it so it is not a good choice but I (you) could fix it so it doesn't or just make a new version with custom scenery or without. Something super easy but fun for anyone to give a try.
  8. ^^I don't think putting happy pills in the water at NE would help much, that would take full strength direct injections. ^^^ I like the new name for the Rapids Ride. *Wash Away Creek, or *Flood Valley Driftwood was the direction I was headed for in my thoughts and Flash Flood: A Survival Adventure is right along those lines! *Water ride names mentioned by me are copyrighted so if you like one or just need a name for your rapids or log flume they are for sale for. Usage rights cost on average $19.99 per day reoccurring every hour until a **cancellation order is in received in writing with postage stamps from at least 3 nations in the Middle East and notarized in Bangladesh. **Failure to follow these simple cancellation rules will cause an increase in the per day fee jump to $39.99 every hour reoccurring every minute until the above agreed to terms of cancellation have been met in full or death whichever comes first. Thank you for using the DMAXSBA name my ride database system.
  9. That will not work, you will only get ghost track and that is not good. What part of lowering down is not working right?
  10. Everything looks great, I do agree about the rapids ride seeming forced. What about leaving the area a lake and using the Pirate Barrel Bumper Boats instead. I also think that castle needs a little ghost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9R05-gRRDDo GHOST.DAT
  11. That makes me very happy! Not the 8cars issues but the fact that it works.
  12. WOW, rough crowd today. Well, just wanted to say I like the looks of TNT. The supports for the Cobra Roll are just great! I agree about changing the name on the Rapids ride. The area this park is in is subject to flash floods and dry rivers beds are called washes. So maybe try to bring those elements into the name of the ride. Anyway good luck with the park, your off to a great start. *where did I put all the happy pills, need to find them and put them in TPR's water supply.
  13. ^ I agree about the path type. It just is not working for me either. I don't know what all types you have available in your game but maybe try out a few different version. ^^Child swap location? Never thought of that. I think the placement of the Carousel is perfect but the whole child swap thing just made it even more perfect. The teepee's and wood junk along with totems all are working well together.
  14. Like the Arrow coaster. It fits in nicely. Everything fits in nicely. One of the best parks here at TPR at the moment and definitely the best Gotham area I have ever seen in any RCT2 park anywhere.
  15. I think they look wonderful. While I am a RCT2 guy I still look and sometimes comment on RCT3 and NL topics. I have both games and while I have no desire to play with NL (enjoy seeing others tracks) I do wish I could play RCT3 but it is just to much for my computer to handle. So here I am still playing with RCT2. Am doing a little train work myself for RCT2 at the moment. Making an Arrow type mine train for RCT2. There are quite a few players here into RCT3 including this forums main MOD. He has shown some very nice pictures in the past. I need to get the beating stick out and whack him again to get him motivated to work on his park some more. It's weird around here one week it's mostly RCT2 players posting then the NL will show up and then back to RCT2 then RCT3 and so on. Anyway, like I said the train looks great. Get it out into the public and lets see who shows it off first in their park.
  16. I can only see one thing I would change and that would be the building covering the track all the way to the loop. I think it needs to be backed off about 3 more track sections before the loop. I do like it, it's just a little long.
  17. Welcome to TPR! You have yourself one nice park there, it is very impressive in size and detail. So many items to comment on... going to keep it simple and just say I loved the Steeple Chase ride and the lighthouse at Kayaking the Pacific is very nice. So is the park basically done or is more work still needed? It looks finished from the overview. If it is done will there be a download for it soon so we all can check it out in-game?
  18. It sounds like another conflict between your operating system and the trainer. What version of Windows are you running the trainer in? If possible and it should be according to posts above ^^^^^ & ^^^^^^ even in Windows7 to operate 8cars in WindowsXP mode. The trainer was designed to run best with XP so if at all possible that is the system to run it with.
  19. Am loving the look of that MCBR. The whole coaster is very nice, and I also would like to see a full park shot.
  20. ^ Did someone delete a post? Anyway, really like the look of that Impulse.
  21. I like the first one allot. Would like to see you use it as a starting point for a park. The other one I don't really care for, however you really did use the land around it very well.
  22. I am liking the look of the new Nitro, not often do I care for double lifts like what you have but in this situation and through good use of banked turns it looks really good. Can't quite tell what kind of twister you are using but if it is the standard sit down you might want to try using the Launched Lift Hill. It would be very cool to have it shoot quickly up the first hill into the curve and then shoot again up the second one but only enough to get it to crawl over the top.
  23. Sweet you brought it out... I already told you in private that I like the one with the teepee's better than the other but thought I would make it official by saying it here. I do think the flowers are nice and I really like how you got that path out there I also like the added building under the coaster. It continues the look you have at other points on the ride. How about a little bit of both by keeping the building teepee's and path and adding in some cactus, wooden junk and a just a few flowers and if that path is really connected to the park how about a bathroom inside the building under the coaster. The flower and statue grouping you have by the rides station house and line area is almost perfect just needs a few of those 1/4 tile flowers replace with a few 1/4 tile cactus to give it a bit of a roughed up look.
  24. White Castle? Better put in more restrooms! I like everything you have done except for one thing. That is the Junior Steel Enchanted Journey. I really think having that second lift killed the ride. Made it bigger than it needed to be or should be.
