Photo TR: Vegas, Knott's, TPR Party and more!

^You're just jealous because you aren't Tatsu. Great TR. Very nice pictures. I need to go to SFMM before it's flattened for housing. -
Beauty and the Coaster...
steel replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wish those lights changed more gradually, like Power Tower's. That would be way better looking, IMO. -
Does this have anything to do with the musical? If so, the tagline needs to be "Defy Gravity."

Beauty and the Coaster...
steel replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Good question... Patriot at night is beautiful - the white stripe seems to glow, and the lights make it look like a long string of peppermint. Millennium Force also looks very nice. Mean Streak is always pretty with the lake in the background. The coasters at Valleyfair are always lit up well - Skyscraper was a little better at night. Villain looks really nice. Too bad it isn't. Thunderhawk at GL also looks great. IMO, Big Dipper has lost a lot of its beauty now that there's a clogged up wave pool next to it. Thunderhawk at DP! I forgot about that! It's so pretty in that walkway through the trees. -
favorite inverted coaster

Thank you. I love you. With all my heart and soul. You are the coolest in the world. I agree. Talon isn't forceless. Whoever said that should have bricks thrown at them. Talon is too forceful to be enjoyed. And don't say "There's no such thing as too much force." I could barely walk after Talon. -

Idlewood Park-UPDATE: 11:30 PM

^I agree completely. Constructive criticism is fine, and a very good thing, but you did sound a little harsh, e.g. "I don't know why you post unfinished stuff." Not everyone has to post park updates and build parks the exact same way you do. -
I loved Steel Force, even with the trims. It gave great airtime on every hill. Even a little better than Mamba. IMO, it was the best ride in the park. That picture of Talon with a full queue is heart-breaking. I feel sorry for every single one of them. Wasting their days to ride a waste of space. Back to the topic... My favorites - Raging Bull - looks long, but moves like no other. Patriot - never too long, and very fast moving. Great views of the ride and of RipCord as well. Disaster Transport - There! I said it! Granted, it's the worst queue in existence today, but when you catch it in the evening or on a cooler day, when no one cares about the air conditioning (which is the only reason people ride it to begin with), you can *almost* enjoy the theming, you get a walkon, and you realize that the ride itself is a lot of fun. Skyhawk/Xtreme Swing - moves about every three minutes, but when it moves, it moves a long, LONG way. My least favorites - Spinning Dragons - Moves about every three minutes, making for a VERY long wait for a mediocre coaster. I'd rather wait for Timberland Twister. American Eagle - what insane mind came up with the idea to have a queue that's longer than the track length of both sides put together? They at least need a shortcut through it all. Great Bear - I never would have found the enterance had it not been for a bit of dumb luck. maXair - moves SLOW. I know most of you would disagree, but it moves WAY slower than Skyhawk. Yummy. Basically, this is the line if you go on a Tuesday or a Thursday. You can sort of see Patriot's main queue here.

Mt Olympus & Timber Falls 8-15-06
steel replied to a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No, see, Mt. Oly employees LOVE to walk all over the station track. Every chance they get, they're on the stuff. I think Mt. Oly really needs to rethink the way their park is run. Much of the staff is very unfriendly - that "I'm only doing this because I get paid" sense is everywhere. The safety standards are at the bare minimum - they have gates along some of the paths and they check harnesses every once in a while. I can't wait until there's a huge accident there that's the fault of the employees and no one else. That should straighten them out. -

^Not all parks have trees like that at their enterances. Worlds of Fun is a great example its enterance is pretty much surrounded by woods. Looks really good. I'll be following this one. -

^This after they gave us ERT on it at CoasterCon AND they let anyone ride it all day. Bad luck. Then again, it's Mt. Olympus. What do you expect? Oh, come on! You broke my Avalanche record (40 rides in about 2.5 hours). Great TR, though. Glad you enjoyed the coasters, especially Avalanche. -
Russia's Screaming Squirrel

http://ex-magazine.ru/news/publ/divo/Zel.jpg Sweet. That ride looks really strange. Sort of like those scribbles that four-year-olds draw, saying they're roller coasters. -
B&M Track seen at factory
steel replied to TheKlockster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Patriot's first t-shirts had clear pictures of WoF's Boomerang on them. http://www.cfmarketplaces.com/acb/stores/3/Patriot-Blue-Patriot-Tee-P65C0.aspx?UserID=395914&SessionID=29 -
First of all, there's not nearly that much terrein. The layout is a little off, but I could care less, since it is my least favorite coaster.
-
Oh come on. Iron Wolf really isn't that bad. I rode it four or five times in a row during CoasterCon without a problem. Mantis, on the other hand, was secretly designed by TOGO. B&M just did the track.

No. I will give you a cookie if that track is actually for Valleyfair!. -

Ride ops don't know anything. They aren't informed until we are. Astat - genius. Pure genius. I'll laugh until I cry. -
How about you scrap that idea and get them to make a suspended coaster instead. I would love you forever.
