After what just happened with Maverick, I would be completely shocked. Well, the announcement is pretty much going to be tomorrow. -

Parks With Insane Rides
steel replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Adventureland has the best run Falling Star in the universe. It's wickedly fast. Sooooooo much airtime. My arms hurt from slamming into the other side of the seat when I exit. Valleyfair! used to have two of the wildest coasters in the world: Excalibur and High Roller. Excalibur's drop was absolutely insane and High Roller's airtime was unmatched. And wouldn't you know it? Excalibur's drop is now trimmed more than Mean Streak's and High Roller has the slowest trims I have ever rolled over. OMIGOODNESS! How could I forget WoF's Scrambler?! I swear I was on that thing for six minutes! My dad had a full conversation on his cell phone. Also worth mentioning is Geauga Lake's fast-moving Scrambler (as opposed to El Dorado, which should be subjected to a flaming hedgehog of doom for being slow and uncomfortable, IMO). -

That actually happened to me with a previous version of No Limits. Unfortunately, I still don't know what happened or where my screens went. -

I was actually only intending to list the new tracks. Also, strike everything I said before. Target view makes up for it all tenfold. Iwould have paid $40 just to get target view. CP_rules - My Computer, then Local Disk, then Program Files, then NoLimits 1.6, then Screenshots. I'm currently attempting to get some photos onto Photobucket, so expect some screens soon. EDIT: http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/-steel-/no%20limits/ Viola. -
I still don't see how that could be misunderstood. "U-Turn curved drop out of the station" It doesn't get much clearer than that. On top of that, it's a very good question. Why create a turn at the beginning when the same amount of space could be used with a turn at the end, a la Apollo's Chariot?

Or look at Patriot, which was finishing up its footers when it was announced. -
I think you're overreacting. This question posed is very simular to the following: "Why do coasters (in particular B&M's) have bends/turns?" See that's a ridiculous question. Anyone here knows the answer to that question. A coaster with no bends should be a freaky long one (more then 40.000 km). Some questions are just questions most of us know the answer of, and those questions look silly in OUR opinions. Hope you understand! That isn't at all what he said. He said "What is the point of the U- Turn curved drop out of the station on most B&Ms before the chain clanking marathon begins?" That is worded as well as it could be. It is obvious to me that he is asking about the drop-curves that are present on many B&M's.

It's a little sucktastic. The new brakes and trains are cool, but there isn't that much to it. I'm in love with the new steelie tunnels, and the Hydra recreation is a godsend. The spinners are okay, but there aren't any recreations. The flyers are over-rated, IMO. Here's what you get: Custom B&M invert Doppel-Looping - Shwarzkopf lap bar only Flying Dutchman - Batwing recreation Custom B&M hyper (fps-eater) Custom Maurer-Sohne spinner Custom Gerstlauer bobsled Custom Gerstlauer spinner Hydra recreation Custom Vekoma flyer The water isn't showng up for me and I can't figure out the zoom feature. It's pretty much just the previous version with spinners, flyers, and brakes. I must admit, I did have fun turning Euro-Mir into a Maurer-Sohne spinner. -
You guys are being absolutely cruel. There is no harm whatsoever in asking a question, and there is no such thing as a dumb question. If everyone knew everything, there would be no point in living.

Christopher Sundet It's true, I am amazing.

^With Millennium Flyer restraints? Wicked. -
Perhaps the greatest perk of the UK trip was the chance to dismantle everyone's favorite coaster.

Is it me or is Patriot's drop several notches above the other invert drops? B:TR's is the only one that comes remotely close, IMO. Alpengeist's was actually a huge letdown for me. Everyone hypes it up as this incredible, amazing speed drop that catches you by surprise, but it really didn't do much for me, like the rest of the ride. -
Dark rides at Cedar Point
steel replied to live2tell75's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You hit the nail on the head there. Let's see, we've got Force, Dragster, Skyhawk, Raptor, Magnum, and maXair. Then there's Disaster Transport, Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, Wildcat, and Cedar Downs. And, yeah... that's about all there is to do at Cedar Point. Mantis and Mean Streak suck. A lot. Wicked Twister is boring for some reason. Corkscrew was the Dragster of its time, and it hasn't aged well. Can someone explain the Disaster Transport hate to me? All you seem to complain about is the line, but the ride itself isn't half bad. And after all this complaining you still haven't figured out that the line is only long because of the air conditioning? Come on, guys. You have brains. It isn't that hard. Just go in the evening when NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONING ANYMORE. We got several walk-ons during our trip this year. The only thing I dislike about it is the theming, and only because it's a shadow of its former self. I'd love to see those two robots and all the effects back again, but you don't see me complaining. -

1. Millennium Force, front row - WOW. 2. Millennium Force, back row - Again, WOW. 3. Patriot, back row - Overly under-examined, IMO. This drop has everything a drop (great air, laterals, positives) should and even beats out most straight drops. 4. Hydra - Please don't hurt me for this. Hydra's first drop is insane air in the back row. 5. Top Thrill Dragster - Can't even describe how cool this feels in the front. -
I'm sorry, but I must respond to the closure of a recent topic: "Anna Nicole-Smith's Son Dies." The reason for its closure was this: "no link here and no one cares... yup that makes my decision easy." In response to the first section, I can provied a link. http://winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/OtherEntertainment/2006/09/12/1829341-sun.html And in response to the second part, that is one of the cruelest things I have ever read. No one cares? Did you ever stop to think that maybe Anna Nicole-Smith might care a little bit? And what about is friends and family. Even the people who didn't like him care. What gets me more is that we have an 8-page topic going about Steve Irwin. Yes, he is more famous, but it is the same basic concept. In my opinion, there was absolutely no good reason to close that thread, and I would appreciate it if it were re-opened.

Still looks just like it did in '98. That's a little sad... -
This could be the most awesome piece of CP history I have ever seen. EDIT: Lol, I just noticed this. http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/2001/sfgam2001_2.html "Opens later this year"

I am so, so sorry. Please go spend time with family now. That is much more important than this. I know how awful death is, especially when it's sudden. My favorite aunt died suddenly from a prolapsed valve in her heart a year ago last August. It was the worst thing I've ever live through, and I wish I never had to do it again.

Funny you should mention him. We met him at CoasterCon XXVIII. He was really, really nice.
