The Six Flags: A Roller Coaster Superhero Comic

This is great. You absolutely must have Flashback be frozen in something, just barely hanging on to life. -
The stormtroopers decided to take down Robb while he was looking especially stoned.

Claustrophobia Rides

Oh, I forgot about Roll-O-Planes! Even more scrunched up (and even more fun) are Rock-O-Planes. -
7:50 to 2:43!?! I go from 7:25 to 2:40, have no 10 minute break, and only have a 30 minute lunch. Stupid Ohio. (By the way, since I forgot before, Great TR!) Indeed this is unfair. We go from 7:40 to 2:35, we don't have a break (I remember when we had breaktime back in 4th grade), and we have 30 minute lunch with sickenming food. However, Roosevelt isn't hard to figure out. I think I'd be lost for three out of four years at Buchanan. What is the basic layout of the school? Roosevelt is a big "I" with a horizontal line through the middle and two catwalks leading to the gym from the back.

A few weeks ago at Adventureland, we had a group of six. Two of us had never been to Adventureland before, so we decided to take them on Sawmill Splash. http://www.coastercommunity.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,76/?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=6023 We waited about twenty minutes, the longest wait of the day, as usual. During this wait, I told the others that you don't really get wet on the ride unless you have strange weight distribution in the tub (which is true), but just to be safe, I told them we should ride three and three, instead of six in one. Twenty minutes later, all six of us end up piling into the tub. The right operator said "lean back at the top, you'll spin faster," but we all heard "lean right." So we got to the top and we all leaned right. We didn't spin at all, but we did "swing" back and forth on the slide. Enough to push several inches of the tub off the side of the slide. We survived, of course, and we got tremendous airtime off of that double-drop. And of course, since no one would listen to me, we all got completely soaked. The End.

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Then let us explain it for you. Woah, hold on. 131 feet shorter? That would put High Roller at about negative 27 feet tall. It used to have airtime. Then they put trims at the end of the turnaround. Actually, that's pretty much the reason. There are many parks that have more than one wooden coaster. Hersheypark in Hershey, PA has two twisters, Wildcat and Lightning Racer, and an out and back, Comet. Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, Maryland has a twister, Roar, and and out and back, Wild One. It's very common and makes for a well-rounded park. You are right, but steel coasters and wooden coasters have completely different feels. Excalibur sucks fantastically nowadays. I remember when that drop actually got you a speed of over ten mph. Actually, VF! isn't duplicating at all. Renegade and High Roller are VERY different rides. You make a very good point, but this is the coaster world, not a college library. Think of it this way: if a college already has a library, does it mean that the college in question can't have a campus book store? Of course it doesn't! That's more what Renegade and High Roller are when compared. First of all, I think you mean GCI, not CGI. Valleyfair! most likely decided to get Renegade about two seasons ago. If you ever get the chance to ride a GCI with Millennium Flyer trains (all but Roar at SFA, Gwazi at BGA, and Wildcat at Hersheypark), you will see what a huge difference there is between High Roller and GCI. Go ahead and call their Public Relations department if you want. They'll give you any information they can. Good, now that's out of your system. I hope that helps. -

Has anyone else noticed that all the major 2007 coasters have odd drops? Mystery Mine - Eurofighter Griffon - Dive Machine Maverick - 95* drop Renegade - twisted drop. SKULLY, I really do hope you were being sarcastic. -
Claustrophobia Rides

Chance Toboggans make me feel really claustrophobic. And yeah, Looping Starship at VF! is awful (those restraints are nightmarish when they stop you upside down as well). -
Not funny.

[rant]Will you people please shut up about it not being a twister?! The coaster world has been complaining FOREVER that GCI hasn't made any out-and-back coasters! Now we get one and everyone feels the need to explode because there aren't enough crossovers? That's almost hypocrtical. Make up your mind![/rant] -

^Patriot at WoF and Avalanche at Timber Falls come to mind. -
I forgot Deja Vu. I was so sure that that restrant would fail at any second. Also my first time on RipCord. I was absolutely terrified and was positive that the wrong cord had snapped and I was freefalling to my death.

^Don't jusdge all American schools from that one. My school doesn't even have a German class, let alone robotics of any kind. The most interesting on-campus class we have is probably Play Production. There are off-campus classes at a different location, but it clogs up your schedule (though you do almost invariably get out of PE, so I'm looking into taking German there next year).

Never a real "I'm going to die" moment, but I've had several experiences on Mamba's lift hill that initially feel like a wheel coming loose. In the words of Li'l Robby Robb, "MORGAN ALERT!" EDIT: Oh my goodness, me. I've forgotten the classic "first airtime" excuse! High Roller ten years ago. It was my first pre-48" "big" coaster, so I was really nervous. Now you must remember that this was eight years before they added those murderous trim brakes to the turnaround, so we were bombarded with airtime. I was completely convinced that the train was about to fly off the tracks every time.

Yes, in fact, Lightning Racer is my number five coaster. Renegade looks like it will be a fast-paced coaster with some intense floater air (I say floajector because it looks like you'll be thrust upward at the pace of ejector, but stay up at the pace of floater). Honestly, you people complain forever that GCI hasn't done an out and back yet. Then we get one and you complain that it isn't a twister. Am I the only one who thinks this doesn't make any sense? *snort* Nice. But I have to admit, Flying Trapeze is pretty much the coolest thing ever. -
^Same here. Four-minute passing makes no sense. I am also curious as to how your schedule works. Are you sure you don't go to college, because that high school is enourmous. My high school is nice and old, with wood paneling, etc. I've been thinking about recreating it in RCT2. Yes. I am that much of a dork. Look! It's Theadore Roosevelt High School!

DenDen - a lot of coasters have drops that twist slightly in both directions, such as Viper at SFGAm or the infamous Cyclone, but never this defined and obvious. I'm confused as to why people are saying this. I can find a lot of places that will have a substantial amount of air. -tiny hill after first drop -tiny hill after turnaround (looks to have insane floajector air) -hill after second turnaround -air hill -station flyby -hill after station flyby The speed taken over these hills indicates major air to me. -

New theme park related movie coming out...

I mean a good one, a well-researched one. Like a lot of the new movies coming out about old crimes that haven't yet been solved. Sort of Cold Case meets the coaster world. -

Looks insanely stupid. I could stand to miss that. It's a teenage death movie, just like Final Destination. Why can't they make a movie about coasters that isn't filled up with blood, gore, and bad writing? I would love to see a movie about a police agency investigating an accident on a coaster. More of a procedural than a horror movie.
