I would love to have something other than what I have. I trust your incredible Elissa-filled instincts can help you think of something brilliant, seeing as my incredible non-Elissa-filled instincts cannot.

Attempted kidnapping at Worlds of Fun

^Didn't you know that there's a civilization of pedophiles living in Space Mountain? -
How often do you ride coasters?
steel replied to Jumboshrmp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_members/member_previousvisits.asp?id=100140 There was also a trip to Como Town in there somwhere. And Little A-Merrick-A. I guess I try to get to one of the "Big Three" ACE events every year. We did CoasterCon last year, we're doing PresCon this year, and we're doing CoasterCon again next year. -

^Yes, and they do search bags quite thoroughly. -
Photo TR: Adventureland (Iowa) 7/5/06
steel replied to pvcoasterguy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Yet another nice Adventureland TR. I'd get a season pass but it's way over priced, as is admission. $30 to get in would be great anywhere else, but it just doesn't work for Adventureland. Bigstevet07, this is pvcoasterguy's second and I posted one a while back. I bet Dragon would be a better ride if we put got some dynamite to go off in its helix. EDIT: Pvcoasterguy's most recent Adventureland TR http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26042&start=0 My Adventureland TR http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25614&highlight=adventureland -
I'm fine standing in lines at all of these parks. I've got plenty of time. I'll probably be riding Dominator over and over and over and over and over... By the way, I'll be reaching my 100th coaster at Dorney Park. I'm thinking either Talon or Steel Force.

Bad Color Schemes and/or Just Ugly Coasters
steel replied to MattJackson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Whoa, that one's awful. SFGAm's B:TR. Batman simply is not yellow. http://rcdb.com/ig5.htm?picture=9 The black was much better. http://rcdb.com/ig5.htm?picture=1 -
Totally. Vegemite is delicious.

Thanks for all the help, guys. Does anyone feel like talking about Geauga Lake?
-
Okay, so here's the itinerary: July 14: Drive from Chicago (initial vacation stop) to Muskegon, MIA July 15: Family event July 16: Drive to Gettysburg (ugh) July 17: Gettysburg July 18: Drive to Allentown, Dorney Park July 19: Drive to Sandusky, Cedar Point (evening) July 20: Drive to Aurora, Geagua Lake, Drive back to Sandusky July 21: Cedar Point MIA I have not been to MIA since before CF owned it, and I was only tall enough to ride Zach's Zoomer. I'm planning to hit Shivering Timbers first. Is this wise? Will I be allowed to ride Big Dipper? Any other info is awesome. Dorney Park Never been to this one before. Will I be allowed to ride any of the kiddie coasters (Little Laser, Woodstock's Express, Dragon Coaster)? Where should I sit to get the most intense ride on Talon? And on Hydra? And on Steel Force? Any other info is awesome, again. Cedar Point Last visit was in 2004. Am I allowed to ride Woodstock's Express? Should I wait until the 21st to ride Skyhawk, or should I do it right away? Again, any other info is awesome. Geauga Lake Never been here either. Will I be allowed to ride Beaver Land Mine Ride? *snicker* Any other info is awesome, as usual. Thanks for reading. Please comment.

^That's exactly what I thought as I looked at that picture. Very nice pictures. I especially like the one of Demon.

^Your second post in this thread, second paragraph, last sentence.

^Dude, djrappa has been on it. I think he knows what he's talking about.
-
^Exactly right. There's no reason to judge a coaster like that without riding it. I think it looks like an awesome ride with a lot of ejector air and a great layout. BTW, I don't know if any of you saw this, but... It looks A LOT faster in that video. It's a better view of the coaster and the quality is better.

The Official "TPR 2006 UK Tour" Thread!
steel replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Whoa, Robb looks a lot like Drew Carrey with those 3D glasses. -
^You sat in the second most painful row on the coaster. It's a possibility that the train you were in was having some issues that day, too.
-
Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, this simply will not do. You forgot to ride Whizzer?! Unbelievable. Glad you had a nice time though, despite missing the last remaining Schwartzkopf Speed Racer in the United States.

Spinning Dragons is best with two average people or one overweight and one underweight going up the lift backwards and no one on the other side, or with two average/ one over and one under going up backwards and one skinny person on the other side. EVERYONE rides Patriot wrong, despite constant assurances that the back is better (okay, not EVERYONE, but you get the idea). You ride in the front seat and get off saying it's forceless, aside from one or two places. Well, guess what? That's true with a heck of a lot of inverts. Alpengeist, for example only felt forceful (to me) at the bottom of the first drop and after the vertical loop in the front seat. Every invert I've had the pleasure to ride, impulses not included, is better in the back. There's more than a little difference between the front and the back on Patriot. The front is probably a top twenty ride, but the back is a top ten, if not a top five, ride. I'm glad you did get a chance to ride in the back. You judged Timber Wolf too quickly. It was a lot worse two seasons ago. Also, you almost definately made the stupid choice to not sit in the front row the first time. On top of that, you probably sat in the second row of the car, which is almost invariably rougher on any coaster. You're right, Timber Wolf is rough, but so are woodies in general. You have no idea how much rougher it was through the first turnaround and through the helix. And in two more seasons, it will be even smoother. Timber Wolf actually has one of the best first drops on a woodie, IMO. Wait... you enjoyed Boomerang? Nice job kid, but I hate to say that you got lucky. I've had an occasional semi-smooth ride, but usually, that boomerang is a crap hole. Congrats on the luck, though. Aside from those things, nice Photo TR.

I was on a mid-lift e-stop on Wild Thing years ago. It's not that big a deal.

Favorite NL pre-created track?
steel replied to Superdasher's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I love River Raid. I'd ride it in a second in real life. I also think the terraformed version of Loch Ness Monster is pretty sweet, even though the track isn't totally accurate. -

Rollercoaster study
steel replied to coaster mad's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Lyke, why doesn't the Boomerang have lyke more than lyke one lyke train, 'n' stuff?" Seriously, "What are the safety features of a common roller coasters, do they function properly, and where on, in, or around the ride are they needed?" -
^I know, I was asking if it was meant to be a clone.

Is Spinning Dragons a clone of the real Spinning Dragons?
