^ Chance Built a New One for Moreys a Couple Years Ago, One for Galvaston Pleasure Pier, and Huss Several for China over the last several years. I wouldn't call it a "Revival" as much as New Parks and those that didn't have one previously are adding a Classic Family Friendly Attraction. -

Want to "Be Sombody's Rockstar?" Who else better to learn from than Utah's own Elaine Bradley, Drummer for the Neon Trees? Lagoon and Struck, and Advertising Firm, teamed up with Utah Native Elaine Bradley for Lagoon's 2014 Advertising Campaign "Be Somebody's Rockstar." The Campaign Features the song "Living in Another World" by Bradley's Band, Neon Trees , from their recently released Album Pop Psychology. So how will you "Be Somebody's Rockstar?" -

Since the Lap Bars are Hydraulic, and those are a pain in the but as it is anyway, adding yet more moving parts seems like a lot more trouble than they would be worth. People pushing up on them or pulling them down cause enough problems as it is. -

I'm thinking more of Entering and Exiting on the Same Side. Complicating a Simple Ride like this would be a Headache! lol -

Is it just me, or does it appear they had to pull a "Sierra Sidewinder" here when the Column ended up a little "short?" -
Sounds like a Work and Travel. lol Also, Rattlesnake Rapids has an hourly capacity of 1,200 persons per hour. That is with every boat filled with 9 Riders and without stopping the turn table. Most times, the ride is lucky to hit 600pph. If you would rather wait in a 90 Minute line in 106 Degrees, be my guest. lol I know it is rapids in general. I should probably just bring my own group of people with me. It's the only ride that I like that doesn't really bode well with small parties of people. :/ and it isn't that big of a deal, but the ride ops lady being rude was inexcusable IMO, you don't need to say "you, up" when you are speaking to adults. If you ever visit Lagoon and experience something similar, stop by Guest Services when you leave the park and fill out a "Suggestion Form" or E-mail the Park. Every Suggestion/Complaint is Read by Lagoon's Owners and the President of the Company, David W. Freed, who also responds to them. The Director, Managers, and Supervisors of the Department Involved will also review it and All Front Line Employees of that Department will be made aware of it as well. On the Flip Side, and this is another thing that is on my "List of Things that Must Go," are Guests who Only Complain. Ever since I began working in the Industry, whenever I visit a park, I keep an eye out for Park Employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. At Lagoon, they are called "Star Employee" Forms, and Other Parks "Guest Compliments." I fill at least one of these out every time I visit a park, and every time I see one deserving at Lagoon. I've never visited a park where I haven't seen someone go above and beyond, and it takes just a few minutes at the end of the day to stop in and write about my positive experience.

This whole thing wreaks of a Management Decision, not a Safety Bulletin from a Ride Manufacturer, as that would have required the Safety Belts to have been installed and in use before the ride opened to the public for the Season. -

Lagoon has an actual Roller Coaster Designer On Staff who has Successfully Designed 3 Steel Coasters for the Park, so I doubt Lagoon would go for something that is unproven. Lagoon could ask Knoebels to work with Dal Freeman to bring a wooden bobsled coaster to Lagoon. Knoebels is getting one of Dal's designs next year, why can't Lagoon ask for the same? Knoebels is Getting a Zierer Coaster not Designed by Dal Freeman. -

^ I doubt the decision to remove a major attraction like this was made in haste and it sounds like this decision was a long time coming. It's possible they were waiting to find a buyer and found one or didn't find one yet and just want the darn thing gone, and who could blame them. lol -

Weird Coaster Facts
linearinduction replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lagoon was asked by Magic Mountain to change the Name of Colossus, their Schwarzkopf Doppel Looping, after it opened in 1983 to Avoid Confusion with Colossus at Magic Mountain. The Colossus Sign came with the Ride and Lagoon bought a "Fire" and "Dragon" Sign from Zamperla to Change the name to "Colossus: The Fire Dragon" in 1984. The "Dragon" Sign is actually the same one used on their Dragon Wagons. Bogies on Older Schwarzkopf Coasters are known as "Wheel Housings" and Columns on the Transportable Coasters are known as "Uprights." Lagoon calls Brake Fins "Brake Knifes" because an Operator had her Arm Severed by a Brake Fin on Fire Dragon in 1983. GCII's Second Project was Rebuilding the Middle Hills of Roller Coaster during the Winter of 1996/1997. Lagoon uses TREX Composite for the Top Layers of the Stack on Roller Coaster. Lagoon's Vice President of Engineering and Former Arrow Dynamics Coaster Designer Dal Freeman Designed Wicked, BomBora, and their New 2015 Coaster Cannibal. Lagoon insisted on Lap Bar Only Restraints for Wicked. Wicked is the First and Only LSM Launched Coaster with Horizontal and Vertical LSM Launches. Wicked was the First LSM Launched Coaster with a Flywheel Inverter. Wicked was the First LSM Launched Coaster to use LSM Motors for Braking. Wicked was the First LSM Launched Coaster capable of Collecting and Storing Energy by Capturing the Energy through the LSM Drives Used as Brakes to Spin the Flywheel Inverter to Store Energy to Launch Trains. Jet Star 2 Moves so much, the Wood Blocks under the Ride are checked every 2 Hours. The MCC on Maurer SC-2000s are called a "Vessel." -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Cedar Point is on the High End of Up Charges, so I would imagine the cost being $25-$30 with a Re-Launch $20-$25. I can't believe they are still Charging what they are for Single and Double Flyers on RipCord.
