And with that type of car, I'm sure you got home rather quickly Not to mention how many tickets he got on the way home. I do not want to know what he pays for insurance each month! lol -
Ludicrous park food prices
linearinduction replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Great thing about Lagoon is you can still bring in a cooler of food and drinks into the park, including adult beverages. It's not uncommon to see people in the park eating In-N-Out, McDonald's, Wendy's, Carl's Jr., Little Caesar's, Dominos, Pizza Hut, KFC, Jimmy Johns, Cafe Rio, etc., which are just a Freeway Exit Away or anything from Farmington Station on the other side of the Freeway. -

I think it's total crap that these coaster wannabes (i.e. Ring-s Of Fire) are being passed off as "coasters." That's all I got. Grrrr. ^ AMEN! I mean, a Park can Market a Ride as they Choose, but when they go out of their way to claim something that isn't true, it's a different story. I wonder if someone will sue them for false advertisement! lol -

Thanks! I guess this leaves Intamin as the only Company that hasn't used the Flywheel Inverters on their LSM Launching Coasters. I wonder why they didn't use the stators for braking as well. -

RavenMaven, will you guys be using the Flywheel Inverter to Buffer the Power Demand during the Launch? -

An Interesting Article that Ranks Cannibal #2 of the 10 New Coasters featured that Open in 2015. http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2015/03/03/10-new-coasters-to-shake-rattle-and-roll-in-2015/ -
Importance of Theming
linearinduction replied to Hayzle's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know Lagoon's Ownership/Management feels it is important to add theming to new rides to enhance the guest experience, as every ride since 1995 has had some sort of theme to go along with the name. Of course I think Red Rock Rally, Rattlesnake Rapids, Spider, Jumping Dragon, Air Race, and now Cannibal, are the best examples of this. -

If that is true, in that tight area, the ride will be incredible! I wonder what he electricity bill would be with such a powerful launch I still don't understand why not one Intamin LSM Coaster has the Flywheel Inverter to Buffer the Load Requirements when Intamin get's all of their LSM Motors from InTraSys like everyone else that has the Flywheel Inverter. -

^ True, but apparently there is a Petting Zoo next to the Gas Station in Scipio, where the Peacock and Peafowl are from. -

From what I heard, Lagoon, and specifically Dal Freeman, had a say in what the Trains Looked Like. I have to say it's nice on the front row not having anything in front of you at all. I just hope the Lap Trays don't crush. I also wonder if Knoebels is going to have the Booster Seats on Impulse like Wicked, so they can have the Height Requirement at 46". -

Lagoon's Final Day of Operation for the 2015 Season is October 30th, so you have a little more time. -

I'd call it a rewinding barrel roll. One inversion is the barrel roll, one inversion is the rewind... Or maybe a barrel roll and a barrel unroll. I need to remember to sleep at night. Switchback Barrel Rolls was voted on and approved by the LIF board of directors, so -

If Knoebels is Smart, they'll build an Enclosed Maintenance Track like Lagoon first did with Wicked and then BomBora, and Cannibal, where they can do all required winter maintenance and routine maintenance in one place. Hopefully they will build a dual loading station like Wicked's and have an Extra Train as well. I always though Wicked could have used a Cobra Roll in place of the Immelmann Turn, but oh well. -

The LSM Launch Track is Behind the Waterfall after the Diving Loop Recovery and before the Immelmann Turn/Wingover type Turn. There's also Officially 4 Inversions on Cannibal, "Inverting Loop," "Diving Loop," and Back to Back Barrel Rolls (what we are Calling the "Switchback Barrel Rolls" on LIF) -

The secret element is the special helix over the waterfall. It's a inline twist to the left, then it immediately turns to the right. And there's only 3 Inversions. The Immelman loop, diving loop, and special inline twist element. The switchback double barrel rolls (or whatever it will be called) technically was announced with the ride in the renderings. I believe it most likely would be something else, but we will know soon enough. Also, it should be considered two inversions, so four all together. Because it does invert you two times on it (as relation to the renderings.) Inversions in Order are: "Inverted Loop", "Diving Loop", and the Switchback Barrel Roll (Not Rolls) are Each an Individual Inversion. With the Switchback Barrel Roll, you bank beyond 90 Degrees to the Left, then shift to the Right through the Barrel Roll. The Secret Element is the LSM Launch behind the Waterfall. The Garage Door is for Access to the Winch Motors for the Elevator and Crane for Inside the Shaft. -

You could even just ride Frontrunner to Farmington Station and take the Free Lagoon Shuttle to the park, unless you really want to rent a car. -

So that's why Wicked has that loud rattle every track segment. I figured it had something to do with the track segments not having a smooth weld between them. It's funny actually, cuz some seasons have the rattle and some don't. Hopefully it's bypassed on Impulse, cuz it's rather annoying.Actually, what you guys are describing are worn wheels, aka, wheels with nicks and cuts in them and worn rubber in the bogies that act as shock absorbers. Additionally, The Track Joints are also Bolt Together, and the only Rough Spot on the Track is the Lake Turn. The Column Weldments Stakotra screwed up is what led to the Late Opening of Wicked. -

Let's just hope they checked the Weldments in the Columns since Stakotra screwed them up on Wicked. I also hope Zierer has improved the Lap Trays so they don't crush you too much on the Tower Recovery. -

Since These Trains were Designed BEFORE Thunderbolt's and the Gerstlauer Infinity Trains, it's more like those are copying ART Engineering's Trains. Still not cool these plans were stolen from someone. -
