  1. This is the first I've heard of this. I doubt it considering this is the second Charging System ART Engineering GmbH built and BomBora at Lagoon has On Board Lighting and Sound.
  2. Lagoon in Farmington, Utah was one of the First Parks to have a Subway (1996/1997) and has 2 Arby's Locations as well as the Campground Subway.
  3. Looks great... Program seems more intense (Mondial is known for having more intense rides). At least it's not as bad as their other version at Canada's wonderland... It's only focus is soaking riders, and has a horrible program. While I'd rather see a Topscan put in instead of this, at least if this rides sucks, it'll still take some of the lines away from Goliath and my #1 steel coaster, Le Vampire. Mondial SplashOvers are Water Rides First and Foremost.
  4. There is a Cycle Selector Switch that if Programmed, and the op is authorized to change, can choose any one of 6 different ride cycles.
  5. My Favorite Ride SOLD by Intamin and Designed, Engineered, and Fabricated by Giovanola would be the Giovanola 1st Gen Free Falls.
  6. I'd be willing to bet that the purpose of those belts is to keep the riders upright. ^ Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!
  7. The Foundation/Footing/Pier Plans I've seen for Coasters from Intamin, B&M, MACK, Zierer, and ART Engineering GmbH are all basically the same and unless you already know the manufacturer, it's pretty hard to determine the Fabricator. The Cages and Base Plates are where the real Info is. Actually, the PIERS are for the most part round, not necessarily the Foundation/FOOTING. You can't really eliminate any manufacturer/ fabricator until you see the Cages and Base Plates for the FOOTINGS. Also, Considering the Work ART Engineering GmbH has done with BomBora, Wonder Mountain's Guardian, and Cannibal at Lagoon, whose to say Holiday World didn't go elsewhere?
  8. If they are using Soft Wheels (Polyurethane or Vinyl) they just need to be broken in.
  9. I hope not. I hate gimmicky rides like that. Aren't 99.9999% of Rides and Coasters a "Gimmick?" lol I also don't know why people keep talking about Page Footors when talking about a Roller Coaster...
  10. I would imagine the long dispatches on the new waterslide may be due to the water level recovery in the Run Out/Shut Down Lane. Seems maybe there should be additional water flow to fill it to a safe level in a shorter amount of time.
  11. Odd how Cedar Fair didn't market this as a coaster but did for Northern Lights at Valleyfair. Course this means that Cedar Point is no longer the Cedar Fair Coaster Capital. Cedar Fair Parks are Operated as their own Individual Business Units with their Own Marketing Departments.
  12. Production costs are cheaper when you've built so many more. Tooling, machining, engineering, etc. Not sure how it would be cheaper for Intamin for any of those reasons when Stakotra Manufacturing Fabricates the Track, Columns, and Trains. lol Does MACK Fabricate all Track and Columns in house? If so, that could explain the added cost as well as their proprietary track design.
  13. Great PTR _Koppen, as Expected! Great Photos as Well.
  14. ^ Very True. The Maurer Coasters at Lagoon are the same way, where brakes have to be checked and adjustments made in the afternoon, if necessary, and they have a Fenced In Area for Maintenance to do that while the ride is operating.
  15. ^ If you are in an area where you can be struck by a train it is. The first thing I ever did when inspecting a ride was lock out the ride. It's still incredibly sad and another important reminder to always lock out/tag out. That's what I told my ops everyday single day, even the ones I worked with for many many years.
  16. Sounds like another instance of a failure to Lock Out/Tag Out. Very sad.
  17. ^ Stadium Seating is pretty standard now days. I had concerns that the Zamperla Air Race Swats would be uncomfortable, but found them to be extremely comfortable, but add any Vibrations from a coaster and it could be a whole other matter all together.
  18. ^ Yes, I believe it was after the 1997 Season. I'll have to check my CP Huntington List when I get home and I'll let you know if I have a different date listed. By all means I could be wrong as well.
  19. This is a really good point - part of the reason that shoulder harnesses exist is to keep riders in an upright seating position at all times. It is a valid point but if some crazy intense rides like skyrush with up to 5 Gs and forceful transitions (with a few laterals) can have lap bars why can't these new not so intense B&Ms have them too? You would have to ask the Manufacturer and/or Park about why specifically an Overhead Lap Bar only was used on SkyRush. There could be an infinite amount of reasons such as Ride Design or the Park Specifically Wanting no Overhead Lap Bars with Shoulder Bars like those used on Storm Runner and Fahrenheit (to keep riders in the proper riding position). Wicked at Lagoon uses Lap Bars because the Owners of the Park Insisted the ride only use them. That is why Wicked has the Unique "Lap Trays" that it does.
  20. As far as I've been able to determine, it was around 1997 that CPH #241 was removed. There have been a couple photos over the years that show the Locomotive and Coaches in Storage at Darien Lake. I believe the last reported sighting was 2007 or 2009, but it may have been removed since then.
  21. Why would you want to keep a 20 year old "Water" Ride that doesn't get you all that wet? Very Few Parks still have White Water Water Coasters and did Cyprus Gardens ever manage to sell theirs?
