  1. Your Welcome RCDude! I also got my Funtime Club e-mail yesterday, but you need like 6 people to make it worth the effort. I'm just sorry I won't be there and help you save $40, but have Fun! RollercoasterRider, Lagoon removed 4 small picnic terraces and relocated Ruby's Tubes to build BomBora, so nothing of any real worth was removed.
  2. Rumored name, yes. If you had seen what I have, you would know it's not a Rumor. Lagoon will not be removing Lagoon-A-Beach and it's been rumored for a while that they've been looking at a "Bowl" type Slide. Lagoon has actually replaced their old Ripcurl Slide with a New one from White Water West. Lagoon spent most of last summer, when not working on Cannibal, to Modify the Support Columns and Install the New Slide that will open in May. I wish Lagoon would rebuild most of LAB and replace Outrigger, since it LEAKS like a Faucet, but that may be a few years out, since the New Slide was delivered in 2011.
  3. Does B&M still manufacture their own Trains or does Stakotra or someone else?
  4. That sounds like a Good Plan of Attack. Did you join Lagoon's Fun Time Club for Discount Tickets? Also don't forget some of Lagoon's other Rides, especially the Dark Rides (Terroride & Dracula's Castle), Samurai, Flying Aces, Rocket, Dino Drop and Lady Bug Bop, and Sky Scraper for a Bird's Eye View of Cannibal Construction. Also, LagoonisFun.com is having an Opening Day Meet Up in the Ensign Terrace, so feel free to bring in a cooler with food and leave it there. If anyone asks who you are, just tell them you are from TPR. I joined the Fun Time Club, but haven't received any email yet and I don't know if I'll have printer access between now and Saturday. If they'll take it, I can always show the coupon on my smartphone but worst case scenario I'll just pay full price (it's still cheaper than my local parks). Don't worry, most of those rides you listed are on my to-do list (not Flying Aces since I've got a flyers at my local park and Dino Drop/Lady Bug Bop are low priority), along with a few others (Centennial Screamer, Air Race, the Wild Kingdom Train, and the water rides if they are open and temperatures are acceptable). Unfortunately, I don't have a cooler and am pretty much trying to maximize ride time, but I'll have a TPR shirt on in case anyone happens to see me and wants to say hi (planning to be there from about 9:45 to 2:30-3:00). If I was going to be there, I would have gotten you a $6 Employee Pass from one of my Friends. Also, the Zierer Family Drop Towers are better than The Rocket and most Drop Towers out there 10xs the size, and the Only ones in the Country. Our Flyers are also Actual Bisch Rocco Flying Scooters, the only Flyers still at their original Park, the only one that Travels Clockwise, and is on the National List of Historic Places. Swordfish and Fokker CV are the Snappiest.

The LagoonisFun Facebook Page has some recent Photos.
  6. Most Parks' 5 or 10 Year Plans are more like Guidelines. Sometimes they happen as planned and other times they don't. Lagoon has always pretty much stuck to their 5 Year Plans. The last one they released in 2005 included a New Thrill Coaster (Wicked - 2007), Family Coaster (BomBora - Originally 2010), Water Ride (OdySea - 2008), and an Interactive Dark Ride that never happened, although the Two Existing Dark Rides got a Refresh several years ago.
  7. There is Never really a Crowd on Opening Day and I've never waited any longer than 30 Minutes (for Wicked) on Opening Day. You should be able to do pretty much the entire park by 3pm no problems. I can't think of one Opening Day since 1998 that the Major Rides (unless it's Brand New) hasn't been open. Even the Log Flume and Rattlesnake Rapids is open on Opening Day, Weather and other Factors Permitting, of Course. Heck, Wild Mouse wasn't even completely put together last year at Opening, but opened at 2pm. I would recommend Joining Lagoon's "Fun Time Club," as they have been doing a Promotion for Opening Weekend for the past couple of years. I'm not sure if Costco has Tickets yet either, as Costco is the Cheapest for Tickets.
  8. Considering how much Coke Gives Away to win Contracts, I'd love to see what exactly PepsiCo and their Chinese Partner gave away!
  9. Knoebels has a 16" Gauge Crown and a Couple 16" Gauge S-16s.
  10. Hey Joey, I have an unopened 2 Liter of Crystal Pepsi and some 7up Gold you could buy off me! lol I prefer the more citrus taste of Pepsi, but don't have a problem drinking coke, and prefer Cheery Coke to Wild Cherry Pepsi. Speaking of the Dr. Pepper 7Up Distribution, it's really wierd here in Utah because Pepsi (Admiral Beverage) has those Distribution Rights North of Salt Lake City (Including Lagoon....you have to settle for Mr. Pibb) and Coke (Swire) Salt Lake City and South.
  11. Wicked Most Definitely has Ejector Air on the Top of the Launch Tower and the Air Time Hill. Nice Floater out of the Safety Brake and into Reduction as well.
  12. Actually Gerstlauer's chain lift is more like Intamin's cable lift. Just let the chain replaces the cable. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only vertical lift coasters with traditional lift system might be Toboggans(including knock-offs), HRRR, SBF's tower coaster(Including the knock-offs) Actually, Gerstlauer's Chain Dog System for their Euro Fighters is the same type of system employed by Schwarzkopf on their Looping Stars, Double Loopings, etc.
  13. There's been something with that one Track Joint on the Lake Turn since the day it opened. That just chews up the Guide Wheels and then makes the Half Pipe Pretty darn rough.
  14. Wicked is only rough when the Wheels are Worn, like when most coasters are rough.
  15. When Wicked blows an LSM Drive, it only takes a week or so to get a new Drive from InTraSys in Germany. I would imagine a Lift Chain is more of a Problem. It does indeed seem odd there is what could be used as a Launch Track. Perhaps the Power Requirements and Cost of Infrastructure was too great. Even with the Flywheel Inverter being used as a Buffer on Wicked, it still sucks a lot of Power. When the Flywheel wasn't working this summer, you could actually hear every launch through every electrical transformer in the park. Let's also hope the Weldments on the Columns are Good this time.
  16. The Immelmann is an Immelman Turn, after the Loop. Contrary to popular belief, the Immelmann Turn is the Original Immelmann (Named after Max Immelmann from WWI) not the Modern Inversion. Also, the Airtime Hill is just before the Vertical Loop, after the Cobra Roll, if the Concept Art is correct.
  17. ^ Pretty Sure Skyscraper at Lagoon is the same Bussink Wheel.
  18. ^ It's never been confirmed, but is believed to be the Same Bussink Wheel that was at Boardwalk and Baseball. Did the Gondola's Spin at Boardwalk and Baseball?
  19. ^^ Well, that depends on if you are just doing a Credit Run or want to Experience the Park as a whole. Either way, Costco is always your best bet for tickets (Unless Lagoon is doing a Fun Time Club Promotion), you can bring your own food and picnic inside the park, Roller Coaster and Wicked are different animals after dark, Pioneer Village will give you a little History amongst the thrills, and Lagoon is home to the Second Largest Zoo in Utah. Where else can you ride a Mondial Top Scan, Mondial Splash Over, Zamperla Air Race, Two Bill Tracy Dark Rides, Two Kick Ass Schwarzkopf Coasters, and one of the Oldest Operating Wood Coasters in the World in one park? lol ^ If so, that would make Lagoon the First Park to Design, Engineer, and Manufacturer a Major Steel Coaster wouldn't it.
  20. ^ If you are referring to the Bottom of the Drop before East Curve, it's been like that for about 15 years, even with the Trex. lol
