  1. There's a reason why many coasters are Painted Red:
  2. The Faux Finish on the Columns and Track to make it look "Rusty" SCREAMS theming to me. If the way a ride is painted screams theming to you then I'm guessing you honestly haven't seen much good theming. If someone is going to pay the money and spend the time to go the extra mile, then I commend them. I've seen plenty of good theming, but Big Thunder Mountain should have as much theming put into it's track as Nemesis. Here is my reaction to this conversation. I know, right? lol
  3. Puff has NO Minimum (Must Ride with a Responsible Person) or Maximum Height Requirements or Restrictions. As long as the Lapbar and Seatbelt Lock, you can ride. The only answer you will get from Lagoon is "Cannibal will open during the 2015 Season." Fire Dragon, Roller Coaster, BomBora, Bat, and Puff do not permit Single Riders in the Front or Back Rows of the Trains; there must be two riders in those rows.

  5. Perhaps this is where the Neon Green Premier Track and Blue Columns are going?
  6. Cedar Fair does not allow filming on any of their coasters, regardless of the mounting device. In fact, this is the policy at most corporate parks. To my knowledge, the Busch parks are the only ones that do (other than Disney, of course). If you try to take pictures or film on a coaster during an enthusiast event, Don has no qualms about escorting you out. (I've seen it happen.) I know someone that has a Letter from Kings Island's Marketing Department that permitted a Chest Mounted Go Pro on the Coasters, "As long as it doesn't interfere with any safety device."

  8. The Control Console was installed and the Ride Power On on Opening Day.
  9. It wouldn't be the first ride Canobie adds in the middle of the summer. Are air racers any good? Air Race at Lagoon is my Favorite Flat Ride in the Park. Samurai (Mondial Top Scan) used to be my fav, but it takes so much work to rock the Gondola to Flip a lot. On Air Race I can just sit back and relax.
  10. Sounds like they threw some worn wheels from last year on it. lol
  11. It's more than likely the problem with the Column was discovered and removed some time ago, only making it appear it was "quickly" fabricated.
  12. When did Kings Island remove the Net under Diamondback's First Drop? I remember a lot of cell phones and stuff caught by that net in 2009 and 2010.
  13. Manic Monte is correct about Cycle Time, which is Dispatch to Brakes. This is how the PLC counts the cycle time.
  14. It could be an issue on ART Engineering GmbH's Part. At least with Wonder Mountain's Guardian, they had BomBora to base the System on, but this time they don't have anything to base it on.
  15. I'm guessing manufacturer, but, and I know its a wiki page, that page said Giovanola fashioned steel for Intamin and B&M behind the scenes, so that makes me wonder if they manufactured their own stuff too. Which now means they've got to get it done by a third party. There are many companies out there that supply Lift Chains for Coasters, including Rexnord, Renold, Webster, and who knows how many else.
  16. Yin, you win the Cookie! http://www.3dscv.com/en/references/roller-coaster-rides-scanning-in-switzerland-connyland/
  17. I know this, was just stating that putting Lagoon and Silverwood into one trip wouldn't be easy. I understand that Silverwood pulls from a huge geographic. Really does have me hope they get the rumored RMC or at least another marquee coaster. The coaster line-up is really good, just small. There's also a LARGE Majority of Idahoans that are completely unaware of Silverwood.
  18. The Funtime versions are usually a lot taller, so that is most likely the reason. Patent/Trademark Infringement would the the Other.
  19. Agreed, although it's worth noting that WOF already has Captain Kidds (a medium-sized, themed kids structure) and Paradise Falls (a modern, full-sized play/spray structure). King's Dominion has Soak City Splash House (full-sized structure) and Canada's Wonderland has a close to full-sized play structure. Splash Pads are not Water Play Structures and are for the Smallest Guests. I would imagine they would install a Water Play Structure for the bigger kids in the Future. There's not one little kid or parent that's going to whine and moan about the Splash Pad, cause the kids and parents are going to love it!
  20. I don't think there are any other Premier Rides Projects being Fabricated at Intermountain Lift, so it shouldn't take too long for them to Fabricate a New Column, as long as they aren't booked with other work.
  21. Lagoon's Press Packet states that Cannibal will have a Maximum Hourly Capacity of 1,200 Riders Per Hour. Lagoon's Operations are Excellent and Capacity/Efficiency is important. This is why the Night Wicked opened to the Public with a 46" Height Requirement, it was Changed to 50" later that Evening, because the Booster Seats were cutting Capacity too Much. After that, Lagoon started Sending Smaller Riders who needed the Booster Seats up the Exit Ramp. Lagoon then built separate Single Rider Line and Booster Seat Line to Get Maximum Capacity. I'm pretty sure Cannibal will have a Grouper, but like with Wicked, if you ask the grouper nicely, they might just assign you the row you want. If not, just thank them anyway, and go to your assigned seat. Because Cannibal has a Dual Lift Platform System, it will go something like this: Lagoon will Load Train #1 and Train #2 at the Same Time and Dispatch them Together. Train #1 will load on the First Lift Platform, while Train #2 waits in a Waiting Zone behind it. Train #1 on Lift Platform 1 will lift to the Top while Lift Platform 2 comes to the Bottom of the Shaft. Once Lift Platform 1 Locks in Place at the Top of the Tower, Train #1 can Exit the Tower, meanwhile Lift Platform 2 can Load Train #2 onto it for the Ride Up.
  22. If it's anything to do with a Gearbox and/or Large Bearing, it's that way for Every Ride Manufacturer, as China has complete control of the Large Bearing Market and they keep production low to keep the prices up. It took 9 Months for Lagoon to get their Rebuilt Gearboxes back from Mondial for Cliffhanger (2) and Samurai in separate years.
  23. That's the Special Thrill Element. That seat is a horse saddle with a seat belt designed for it. For true thrill seekers only! Julie Freed, Lagoon's Director of Special Events, posted the following on Instagram regarding the removed seat on the back row of the Cannibal Test Train, "One of the seat frames in the back row was temporarily removed in order to sculpt the padding. The padding manufacturer requested it and we were pleased to oblige. ALL Cannibal vehicles are configured with 3 rows of 4 individual seats."
  24. I'm the exact same when it comes to traveling. I want to visit a park sooner, but circumstances don't allow at the time. But then I think about the benefits of waiting later because the crowds will be less. I thought about a trip to Lagoon this year, but I already have other trips planned. Hopefully next year I will get out there to experience Cannibal. This coaster looks FANTASTIC! I could probably go in July, but I'll wait until August. I can be patient...especially if it means lighter crowds! August is usually the Busiest of the Summer Months at all Parks, including Lagoon.
  25. That would have put the Storage Track towards the Inside of the Park instead of the Back where it is.
