The micro-brew scene is still thriving here, but the red light district and opium dens were done away with long, long ago. Definitely LOVE Hoppers and Red Rock is good too! Wasn't a huge fan of Bohemian, and Uinta and Wasatch aren't my Fav, except for the Evolution Ale. -
Oh, I'm sorry. You're right. I haven't been to the park since reopening and from the aerial view I saw, I was thinking it was centered on the pad like Quassy's. It does seem like a really large ride area, though, doesn't it? That has had me scratching my head since it's installation. I mean, had they used all Diamond Plating Around the Turntable, it might suggest a future purchase of a Full Sized Tea Cup Ride. i can't think of any other Zamperla Ride that could use that small Pit, if the ride were to be re located.

^ Ok, let me get this straight. Kentucky Kingdom spends the money to Install the Ride, Poured a Foot of Concrete around it so it has Ground Level Loading, just to move it in a couple years leaving behind a small pit? If that were the case, they wouldn't have spent all that money on concrete to bring the grade up to the same level as the platform and would have left it like those at Waldameer, Quassy, and Luna Park. In Ground: On Ground:

If you are talking about the Mad Hatter (Zamperla midi Tea Cup), it's a Permanent Mounted Model, like Lagoon's and Hershey Park's. Yes. That one. Notice it in the overhead shot: the Mad Hatter (left side) seems to sit on a very large ride pad (the old Dodgems pad), and I've got to wonder if it may move again some time in the future as they begin filling the park back in. I think the train tracks are going where the car ride was, near the Breakdance on the right: It doesn't make sense to spend the money installing a ride into the ground (Park Mount) when you are just going to move it, when you could have installed it above ground.

Actually it's a Lagoon/ART Engineering GmbH Design being Fabricated by ART Engineering GmbH, unless things have Changed, which I highly doubt, considering ART Engineering is the Main Supplier. -

Lagoon doesn't open until the 28th, which is not this weekend, but next weekend. I'm sorry; I totally missed that. I could have sworn that it said it opened the 20th when I checked before. I still feel like Cannibal might open with the park though. Yes, they just began testing, but they also just put the last piece of track in place. It seems like the final stages of construction on this ride are going by pretty fast and I suspect the park is rushing to get it open. Plus, the park actually has two weeks before it opens, not just one week like I thought. I guess it's not all up to the park at this point, though. I'm not sure how much of a say they get in getting the ride inspected and stuff. I'm going to join the minority (of pretty much just me) and say that the ride will be open on the 28th, but that's probably more of a vain hope than an educated assumption. I leave school mid-April when most people seem to think the ride will open. With finals and everything, I doubt I'd be able to make it up to Lagoon around that time. Cannibal won't be opening on the 28th of March. It may open Mid April if everything goes well. -

The only difference I see in the Wheel Housings are that the Larger Force Coasters have 2 Safety Wheels instead of 1. Otherwise, besides some additional bracing, the Housings are Identical. -

And how having someone next to you would have prevented it? See what happened on New Texas Giant. It will only stick a horrendous picture in the head of the witness - yet I don't always carefully watch for my pal when riding a coaster. Perhaps in the US, but here in Europe you certainly can ride them alone. I rode the two Ferris Wheel at Liseberg on my own (one has closed gondola cabins, but the other one is open-air), and nobody said something. I just tend not to argue with the recommendations made by arguably THE Top Safety Consultant in the Industry, especially when he's on Lagoon's Payroll. Working for a Park Like Lagoon in Management, and at other Parks, kind of forces you to Look at things Differently than those who simply ride. Not many people have had to walk up to a ride to literally see Brains all over the Concrete or someone laying on Concrete in a Pool of Blood. Fortunately, I've only seen the later, but I have heard the first person account of the former. It's also not about preventing what may happen, but so there is a witness to what transpired. To this day, it is still unknown if the girl in the back row of Roller Coaster stood up and fell out accidentally or if it was perhaps suicide. Either way, Lagoon modified the Lapbars on Puff and Replaced the Buzz Bars on Roller Coaster with Individual Lapbars on Roller Coaster the Next Season. Again, when you talk to people who were there and the park owners, it's pretty clear of the lengths they will go to to hopefully prevent a repeat of what tragically happened. -

So this "Safety Rule" is spreading from Six Flags now? I still don't get it. I thought I heard an explanation at one point that blamed some stupid insurance liability reason, but it still doesn't make sense. Obviously riding with two people in front or back vs. one doesn't suddenly make the ride safer. It insures that there will be witnesses in the event of an accident. This is the same bull$h!t that SFOT uses. Just because there are two people in the last row, doesn't automatically mean they're good witnesses. It's an absolutely ridiculous policy, but at least Lagoon (from what I see on this forum) actually TELLS people that this rule exists, unlike SFOT. Make sure you both tell that to the Teenage Girl and Little Boy that were Seated Alone in the Back Seat of Roller Coaster and Puff who Died and to the Manager that had to walk up to Puff to see a Little Boy's Brains all over the place. If you were in their shoes, you'd do the same thing! It's also quite SIMPLE. The Riders in the Front Row See the Track ahead and those in the Back Row can see the Entire Train. I mean, all Ferris Wheel Manufacturers now have a "No Single Rider" Policy that Lagoon has had on SkyScraper since it opened in 1991. RC Fussner is also on Lagoon's Payroll and has been for many years, so perhaps RC or his Son Consulted with Six Flags Over Texas. -

The Seats in those New Trains look a lot like the ones Zierer used in Lagoon's Jumping Dragon and OdySea, Lagoon's Flying Fish. -

Not going to lie, they're extremely uncomfortable. This is due to them tightening during the launch though, so hopefully Impulse won't have this problem. Obviously Knoebels didn't have a problem with them when they were at Lagoon Looking at Wicked and Spider. I think it was in 2013 they were there. Interesting they changed from the Big Rotors on Wicked's Trains to These Ones. -

The Elevator Lift was one of the Elements Listed in the Press Release. The LSM Launch and Reverse Barrel Rolls were Not. Lagoon is Not "Single Rider Unfriendly," they just have Certain Safety Rules for the Front and Back Rows of Each Coaster that require there be 2 Riders in the Front and Back Row of Each Train (Roller Coaster, Fire Dragon, BomBora, Bat). For Wicked, Spider, Wild Mouse, there must be at least 2 Persons in the Car. There are No Single Riders on Jet Star 2. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find someone or even a group to ride with over on LagoonisFun.com. -

Third pic, look in the trench. That screams Intamin to me! Both Gerstlauer and Premier Rides have also used Flywheel Inverters on some of their LSM Coasters to Buffer the Peak Electricity Load. While Wicked, Fluch Von Novgorod, Blue Fire, Helix, Karacho, Takabisha, etc. have the InTraSys Beilim Stators set up for the Energy Recovery System, I have not heard if anyone has installed the necessary and expensive storage components to power the Flywheel Inverter. -

Wicked also has lapbbars. I believe he is still Confused by the Original "Overhead Lapbar" Design and this Alternate Design being used. -

Yup, Fox is not a reliable source as always. 3rd Steepest Drop in the World, Tallest Beyond Vertical Drop in the World, and Cannibal being a Turnkey Project is Legit. There's been a lot of these types of lists that have Cannibal high on them for New 2015 Coasters.
