  1. ^It needs more vomit and litter.
  2. ^To be totally honest, I actually wouldn't have guessed that you were gay myself.
  3. If the Timberliners were undergoing VISIBLE stress deformations during the ride cycle, I'd be just a little bit concerned.
  4. Just be aware that this is only true for DDR2 RAM at the moment. DDR3 RAM doesn't yet come in 4 gig sticks. Also, looking into the possibility of building a whole computer from scratch, here's what I've put together so far: Case: Pixxo CG-8402 Black - $39.99 Mother Board: DFI LANParty DK 790FXB-M3H5 AM3 AMD 790FX - $94.99 Graphics Card: Sparkle GeForce GTX 470 SXX4701280D5-NM - $249.99 RAM: 8 Gigs Corsair DDR3 - $159.99 Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Quad-Core - $179.99 Power Supply: Dynapower 750W - $99.99 Hard Drive: Western Digital 1.0 TB - $69.99 Monitor: Acer G215HAbd-1 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 - $139.99 Disk Drive: Plextor CD/DVD RW Combo Drive OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit - $179.99 Subtotal: $1244.90 Shipping: $30.00 Total: $1274.90 (I'd say that's not a bad price for a built-from-scratch computer myself ) Pros: - Awesome upgradability with my case and power supply - Great graphics card - Sexy case! - Brand new monitor - 1 TB hard drive - Windows 7 OS - >3.0GHz processor Cons: Out of my preferred price range, but for what I'm getting, I'm really not gonna bitch about that. Prices will drop by the time I buy it anyway.
  5. Looks like I may as well just build a gaming computer now... Vekoma "CrossFire compatible motherboard here I come!" Fan Boy
  6. ^Thanks, Ill be sure to check with the manufacturer when I have a chance. As for the ram, it says it comes with 4GB default (2 2GB sticks) and that each dimm can address up to a four gig stick, thus making the maximum 8GB
  7. ^Thanks for all the info on graphics cards! I just have a few questions though, I figure since the computer I'm looking at seems to be such a nice deal, and the graphics card is a non-essential item I can save for and get after the computer, I may as well throw my current Nvidia GeForce FX5200 into the computer, then wait a bit and splurge and get the ATI Radeon Sapphire 6870. But I have a few questions: I can see on the card that it is a single slot card, and is listed as a PCI-Express 2.1 x16 slot. The computer I am looking at is listed as having one PCI-Express x16 slot. Are these two slot types compatible? (If there is even any difference in the first place) Also, the Sapphire 6870 is a very physically large card, how can I be sure it will fit inside the computers tower? And, probably most importantly, how do I know this thing won't rape the power supply? I can't find any information on how much power the card requires, or how much power the computer's supply puts out. If you want to take a look, HERE is the computer, and HERE is the card.
  8. As of now I'm saving up some money to replace my junk eMachine T-series computer. I'm not looking to spend 2000$ on building my own computer, but I do want to buy a decent desktop computer set with Windows 7 and a larger hard drive than my current one, which is 145GB. I'm looking for decent gaming ability. Nothing Crysis-level, but I would like to be able to run games like RailWorks, Garrys Mod, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, No Limits (and eventually NL2), as well as programs like Autodesk Inventor well. My maximum budget is about $750. I have one option I'm considering as of now, but I'm definitely open to new suggestions. THIS HP Pavilion Desktop: Pros: Nicely within budget Whole Package: Tower, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard 4GB DDR2 RAM included, expandable to 8GB Comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE integrated graphics 4 Slots for Graphics cards (1 PCI-Express x16, 2 PCI-Express x1, 1 PCI) Cons: 500GB hard drive. I would prefer a 1TB. Only has room for one extra hard drive. Only 4 USB ports in the back. (I hate using front USB ports for anything but photo transfers from cameras and such) Any help/input would be awesome!
  9. Working on my support arch in Inventor now that I'm familiar with everything again... This will be the arch to support Infineon's massive air hill after the loop!
  10. ^I love you. It would be so much easier to do this in Inventor: Which I think I'm going to go do now.
  11. Okay, I have a real challenge for you here! I need a modern looking dual load/unload station with a perpendicular flythrough for my X-Car "Infineon." I'm willing to leave most of the creative control to you, but I do need it to look modern and stylish, and I need the colors not to clash with the ride's current color scheme, and I also need the station roof to create a headchopper for the train coming through the flythrough, without impeding its visibility to those in the station. Here are some pictures to assist you: The station needs to extend to both of the two yellow lines. [EDIT: Actually, make it extend to the end of the brake run before the unload station, I think a tunnel under the station would be kinda cool now that I think about it!] This includes going around the curve between the loading and unloading stations. (Unload station starts at the origin.) I would like a queue that starts and an exit ramp that lets out somewhere around where the two green lines begin under the brake run, for I (note: me, I'm not trying to kill you!) would like to create a ride plaza between the station and the loop, with the main entrance being under the loop. Here is a picture of the flythrough going over the loading station. The simple station is just there for scale, I'd like it removed for the final product. I know this is a pretty big station to work on, and do not by any means feel rushed to complete it! There is still a lot of work I have to do on it, (Oh, I don't know... supports?) but I'm fed up with trying to 3Ds the damn station! If you are interested in tackling this project or have any questions, go ahead and shoot me a PM and we can get this thing going!
  12. Anyone here pick up a copy of Dimmu Borgir's "Abrahadabra"? I'm thinking about picking myself up a copy but I want to make sure its a good album before I do. Gateways sounds like a good song, but that's just the first single, which is nearly always the diamond hidden within the turd.
  13. Ever since moving to the south, I have to say... (some) Country Music...
  14. I'm a little late in, but this seems fun! WHEE!.bmp Intamin Blitz FTW!
  15. Why are girls such effing idiots? My ex (mentioned above) has finally gotten over me, and now she keeps going out with these fucking douchebags who obviously only want sex, and telling me that they're "nice guys" when I raise a red flag. I don't understand what shes not getting about these guys. I don't still like her, but I certainly don't not give a shit. Its just freaking annoying to watch her set herself up to be hurt when its so easily preventable.
  16. ^Just by looking at the track I can tell you it doesn't. And I'd pay anywhere from 90$-100$. It doesn't look that good to me. That's not at all an insult on your behalf. I'm spoiled by lavishly detailed model railroad stuff. (Seriously, those guys throw FITS over details!)
  17. Don't mean to be a party pooper... but does anyone else think that video has been sped up a bit? Filming the launch from that distance, it just wouldn't appear that fast. For example, this is a video of a TGV train traveling at about the same speed (somewhere around 260km/ph), filmed at closer range so it should appear much faster than Formula Rossa. But I don't think it does. Hmmm... Yes. It is sped up... Ferrari World even paid those guys in the second half of the video to walk in slow motion to make it look real.
  18. Not quite, close though. Its the train's mass that is calculated as if it is a single point, which creates a few subtle changes in how the train would behave in a frictionless environment. The real difference is that in NL, most of the friction from the ride is air friction, which is proportional to the trains velocity squared, so the amount of friction the train must work against is that plus the coefficient of friction created by its wheels. Newton2 uses a single friction coefficient which would act on the train as if it were in a vacuum. Since Newton2 can not account for momentum loss because of air friction, it takes a lot of time and practice to learn to tailor an appropriate friction coefficient for a certain type of ride with a certain number of cars. [/nerd rant] Kinda makes me glad that NL2 will have a more advanced FVD design system... heh.
  19. ^System restore doesn't undo file modifications.
  20. I know you have a legal background, but this is just my 2c. In the defense of the non-idiotic people, cones aren't exactly eye level either. I really don't think it's THAT difficult to pay attention to what is in front of you. To be totally honest, if this same thing had happened to me, I WOULD be pissed. At myself. For being dumb enough to fall into an open manhole. Cones or no cones, a large, smelly hole in the ground is not very inconspicuous. Compensating this girl and her family would be like handing out idiot insurance. Now is the city completely free of blame? No. There SHOULD have been some sort of warning device in place, but just because there wasn't doesn't give someone an excuse to get paid for being an inattentive dumbass. Just because the directions on your bicycle don't say anything about riding it off of the roof of your house being dangerous, doesn't mean its a good idea to do so. What is the moral of this rant? Pay attention to your surroundings and rely on yourself for your own safety, not someone else, because you can only trust YOU 100%. Again, just my 2 cents. I'm not trying to incite an argument or anything of the sort.
  21. Wow. Just wow. Thats retarded. If she can't look up every few seconds to see where shes going, then maybe she should've fallen into a shithole... Sounds like a nice wakeup call. But really, its not THAT hard to look up every few seconds to see where you're going while you are texting. I actually don't even have to look up from my phone to pay attention to my surroundings and what's in front of me. Vekoma "Peripheral vision FTW" Fan Boy
  22. ^I like everything except the "bling" and diagonal lines. Is there anything else you could do with that space? The logo repetition just looks odd, and the diagonal lines seem too distracting (and at the same time uninteresting) to me.
  23. ^Newton2 needs Microsoft .NET 3.0 or higher framework, so I'd guess thats a no go for Macs. I'm not sure about AHG though. I vaguely remember there being a Mac version, but I'm probably wrong.
  24. ^It's working fine for me. It even has the track listed under the video, meaning its one of the songs "allowed" on YouTube.
  25. Pull Me Under - Dream Theater. It's 8 minutes long, and I swear it feels like its only 2 and a half.
