  1. ^I do that too whenever I hand build. It works much better when you have smaller segments. Just don't forget to replace the node you deleted after smoothing the track. And let1gre, this was great for a first time track! It had its bad spots, (I don't have time to write an in-depth review right now, but I will once I get home) but it was overall very nice! I *really* liked the layout. It reminded me of iSpeed. (As in, a rocket coaster thats more than a one-trick-pony). The only things about the layout I didn't like were the inverted tophat and the inclined loop, which are out of place on an Intamin.
  2. Also, remember this: Entropy's tutorials are NOT(!!!) the end-all-be-all way to make an element! I've seen many people copy and paste exactly what he does in his tutorials into their ride, and don't understand why it doesn't make a perfect cobra roll or corkscrew or whatever. Your element WILL be constructed differently than how Entropy did it. His tutorials just give you a (very smudgy) map in a brand new world. It's your job to fill it in and learn the ropes.
  3. http://nolimits-exchange.com/news/20/newton2 First link in the Google search mightbeawannabe posted.
  4. Definitely. While I don't think Bonham should have been #1, (His work just never seemed incredibly amazing to me, but it was damn good!) he SHOULD have been on the list. Indeed, speed is not everything. Granted, in my musical community, it is a big part of the equation, but if you play crap at 260 BPM, you're still playing crap. The reasons I admire drummers like Samus (above), George Kollias, Derek Roddy, and Tomas Haake, (and to a lesser degree for this particular situation, Mike Portnoy and Danny Carey) is that they all can play incredibly fast AND on beat/in time, while playing some really eccentric patterns, and on top of that in very difficult time signatures. (For instance, Haake is known for playing in 23/16 on occasion) But, like I said, if your playing crap at 260BPM, its still crap. Amazing drumming at 100BPM, is still amazing drumming. This is where drummers like Peart, Portnoy, Bonham, Carey, etc, come in. Some of the stuff they do is just absolutely amazing and confusing.
  5. ^Uhm, B&M doesn't have ANY selection of launched rides. Vekoma "Hulk's launch was done by an outside firm because B&M refused to do it." Fan Boy
  6. ^Dude, Joey's drumming is JUNK. He's alright at best, but definitely not #1 material, not even close. Portnoy or Peart should have taken the #1 spot. I also think Samus Paulicelli (Ex. Abigail Williams, Current drummer for Decrepit Birth) should have been on the list, not in the #1 slot, but definitely ON the list. He is one of the best new drummers in the metal community, but he is extremely far from the public eye, so its not surprising that he is not even mentioned. Here's Samus playing "Empyrean" by Abigail Williams.
  7. ^Please do ask! I would put my money on the on the increased speed/forces situation, but confirmation from engineers would be awesome.
  8. ^Dude, you're gonna get chewed out by the mods if you don't start posting with proper English. Just warning you. And as for the coaster, it looks good, but you need to keep working on your transitions. They're still really weird and uncomfortable looking.
  9. I tried this, it almost worked, but I "woke up" because I scratched that itch I was warned about.... Try, try, try again.
  10. ^All I got out of that was Source, and I highly doubt they would be at all involved with the RCT series. Vekoma "Heavy Weapons Guy has given your park the "Best Sandviches!" award!" Fan Boy
  11. Looking at the sh!tty quality of my really old posts makes me cringe. A lot.
  12. ^^Slow down, just stay where you are with learning custom supports. Once you're good at that then I would say move onto .3ds objects. Tackling all 3 things (Newton, Supports, and .3ds objects) at once is a big bite to chew on and is just asking for mediocrity.
  13. ^^Both is usually the best way to go. But its kind of difficult to rate his use of Newton2 without seeing the .newt2 file. (It wouldn't be a bad idea to post it if you still have it, inflameswetrust21) I will rate the ride itself right now, and I'll critique your use of Newton2 later if you post the file. Technical: 7/10, the track was (obviously) very smooth, but lacked flow and pace, (this is a common problem when people first start using Newton2, just keep practicing.) and also had some really wonky transitions. (The one into the main brakes most notably.) Adrenaline: 6/10, the first drop was pretty damn exciting! (Even for being trimmed!) But that was about it, the rest of the ride was kinda "meh." Nothing bad, but nothing that really set it apart from the crowd either. Originality: 9/10, Well, I've never seen anything much like it. Prototypicality: 4/10, The ride deviated pretty far from real life practices. This ride should not have been running 3 trains; 1 or 2 would have easily been sufficient. Running 3 trains caused there to be undesired stacking on the lift hill. Also, neither of your brake segments should have stopped your train; magnetic brakes can not bring a train to a halt on their own. They need some sort of friction brake or drive tires to stop the train. Also, your second brake run should not have been magnetic for the reasons stated above. Average: 6.5, Not bad, but not great either. Keep practicing, you have the potential to be really good!
  14. This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDWxJMhKRzo Is officially the best song ever.
  15. ^If thats the case then explain why Ole added in the modern Schwarzkopf Looper Trains in the 1.6 update.
  16. ^Haitus. Since school started I have very little time to work on it. Trust me, this thing will be done at some point or another.
  17. Better, but I don't like the wide-to-small turn just before the brakes. If you could do something to get rid of that, then it would be perfect!
  18. A 21 year old in Algebra? Yeah, that's a little odd. Especially considering I'm 16 and in a Pre Calculus class.
  19. ^Computer got reformatted. Why do all of my projects get necroposted? EDIT: To all who are interested, I've started rebuilding the ride (with some slight variations) in Newton2. Nothing picture worthy yet, but I'll 2 or 3 pics when I get to about where I was in the last picture in this thread.
  20. Really, thats about it. And to be brutally honest, TPR is at the bottom of the list as far as this is concerned. I really hope that Robb expands the game section to include a whole database for these kinds of things. Dedicated forums for RCT, NL, etc. would also be really nice. Anything having to do with NL here just gets ass raped and hidden by the massive amount of RCT stuff.
  21. Props, dude! That was an awesome way to use the (pretty much mediocre) Togo Heartline coaster!
  22. ^It probably wouldn't hurt to expand upon the flyer. I actually think it would be cool to do an egg turn over the lake next to the brake run.
