What I dont understand is, what's the point of having waves that big if you cant surf them? I mean, I really think "bobbing" in the water looses its purpose once the waves start breaking. Now you have an attraction whose only real marketing draw is all and all rather pointless. Just my thoughts. -Jahan

I hear a lot of Forrest Gump hate out there, but I have always enjoyed that film. -Jahan

What is your next park?
arrowfanman replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guess Magic Mountain, but I dont really enjoy myself while I'm there, so I'll have to say Disneyland. -Jahan -
My Ongoing Spain PTR
arrowfanman replied to RaptorBoyASU's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You must be mistaken. Louise does not take "bad pictures". Great PTR Kyle! Honestly, great pics! I LOVE the one of the drop tower between the queue shader-thing! Cant wait for more! -Jahan -

$20 on-ride video + crappy pizza restaruant cost = enough for one ticket to Disneyland to do a quick lap of the e-tickets. Just playin. Anyway, nice video. I really enjoyed it. To bad the YouTube quality sucks pretty hard. Look forward to a forum-uploaded video! -Jahan

^ If you read the thread, you would have realized that particular crappy joke has already been posted, thank you. -Jahan

^^ LOL at the landscaping in Scream's mural. What I dont understand is they skipped "X" and "Dejavu" on the "Greatest Coasters Every Built". ...oh wait. Not really. As you can see, even Coaster Realm was only able to milk out about 8-10 photos to put in an update. I've made my way down to the park several times, I just havn't seen anything impressive-enough to take pictures of. Sorry! -Jahan

Great Coasters on The Discovery Channel
arrowfanman replied to Evan1127's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The show was better than most coaster shows, in my opinion. Just didn't like how they sort of "left off" at the end. I think a proper ending would be follow-ups of the rides open and such. -Jahan -
Married on Tatsu?!
arrowfanman replied to GMAN962's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I cant decide if saying "We'll cover the cost of your wedding--if you get married on our ride in front of cameras", is generous or cruel. -Jahan -

PTR: SF Magic Mountain for the 4th of July!
arrowfanman replied to arrowfanman's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thanks for all the great comments guys. On the night photos: Trust me--those are like the 5 that actually came out! I literally took about 150 photos last night and what you see is what came out! I'm glad someone picked up on that! Awww....dont blame yourself. -Jahan -
Hey everybody! Well, tonight my sister and I decided to head over to SFMM to catch the fireworks show to celebrate the 4th of July. We called Mike and he joined us too! This was basically our short night! In the interest of time, I'm doing the PTR "traditional style". Enjoy! -Jahan And that final ride on Goliath concludes our night at SFMM! Thanks for joining me for this short PTR! Bye! We had a bad upstop wheel or something, as the entire ride felt like we were riding on a square-wheel or something. Always heard of "bad wheels"--never experienced one until then. After the fireworks, we had about 9 minutes left before the park closed and decided to speed-walk over to Goliath. Why Goliath do you ask? Well, it was approximately around this time last year that Elissa rode Goliath as her last-ride-before-KT! We wanted to honor that! Love you Elissa! Dont kill me. ...and NOW we're done with fireworks. Not a "OMFG my head's gonna esplode!" finale, but a good, long one, none-the-less. Unfortunately, the firework audio kept fading in, back and forth across the plaza, for some strange reason! It would literally be audible and then, clearly present, but not loud enough, and then audible again! Weird and lame! Is an upside-down smile a frown? ...and on that cue, the fireworks FINALLY started! Yay! Everyone loves confetti! Yay! Despite being late, I'm happy to say that the parade was surprisingly very coordinated! Holy sweet inflatable Gossemer! Yay! The parade is FINALLY here! SFMM's plan was to conclude the parade at the entrance with a grand finale which transitioned into the firework show. Unfortunately, they were 10 minutes late today. At least they had this guy trying to maintain crowd-energy. Awww...doesn't it look purdy? After Rev, it was time to line up for the fireworks! Yay! ...too bad it raped me. ...in the ears, too. Being that it's Independance Day and all, we all figured it would be fitting to ride the Great American Revolution. Vault Icees are coming BACK! :b Robb, I have a treat for you. Must be a Sea-Man's Semen. BTW...our ride sucked. The crew let people wander around the platform, fighting for their own boat, the attendant on lift 1 was smoking and the attendant before the drop was on a cell phone. SFMM, we rode at 8:50. Since Mike missed out on Log Jammer, we thought we'd treat him to some Arrow-flume action on Jet Stream! But it does still look pretty damn sweet at this time of the evening! *sigh* Exactly 1 year later and it still just says "Revenge". =( Although this was cool! A broken sprinkler pipe spraying out where the train flys by! It felt REALLY good as it was still reasonably warm outside! Unfortunately what should have been a 3-5 minute wait turned into a 13-15 minute wait. They stopped boarding, didn't speil why, and didn't resume operation for another 7-8 minutes. And the crew flat out sucked, as well. Now it's time to try our luck at Batman! BIFF! Here's me and my ride-op friend! Here's Mike. He finally showed up. Everybody applaud Mike for finding his way to Magic Mountain. Yay Mike! A random shot of the skater-show. The new skater-show was blasting rock music, so Bugs, Daffy, and I rocked out! Of course, I still look like I wet myself. =/ Awwww...Superman ACTUALLY looks purdy this time of day. Unfortunately I came out looking like I pissed myself! Being as late as it was, I dont think I ever dried, either! =/ I dont know what came over me, but I felt like riding Log Jammer, which is pretty much the AWESOMEST ride ever, BTW. For some reason, it looks like they paper-mached an "S" onto the SkyTower. I dont know why. It looks really tacky and as if it is being held up by masking tape. You have also never seen THIS photo before either! Yay...now the PTR can OFFICIALLY begin! You have never seen this photo before! If you say otherwise, I will kill you! We pulled up to the park around 7:00. It actually didn't appear to crowded for being the 4th!

I'm sure the reason the video makes it appear slow, is because the video is absolute CRAP quality, and because it would appear that you are pretty high off of the ground. I mean, when you're landing in an airplane and you're high above a city, the ground seems to be moving slowly below you, until you get much closer to the ground. Same idea, IMO. Anyway, it looks like a "unique experience", but a bit out-of-the-way for me. -Jahan

2011 USA Suggestion Thread
arrowfanman replied to Norcal Twists's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You really are trying to encompass too much in one trip. Look dude. I dont want to put your trip down, because I've been in your exact shoes planning my graduation trip 4 years in advance. But it's for that exact reason that I say to not worry about it right now. My trip was always changing and eventually simply didn't come to fruition! A LOT changes in 4 years. I highly recommend saving $2,500 to $3,500 and just doing the coolest TPR trip out when you're 18. That's probably the smarter thing you can do. And if you dont want to do any of them or they dont have them in 4 years (or you dont like coasters as much in 4 years, which is HIGHLY possible), well--then you have $3,500 dollars, which is certainly enough to do a kick ass trip. -Jahan -
^ You'd be surprised. TopThrill's story is actually decent, as he had it in his pocket (I assume). You see, iPods are no longer an MP3 player but a "fashion accessory". People like to be seen with their white ear phones dangling out of their shirts. Tons of people ride various rides with their iPods actually in their ears or on their shirt, rather than in their pockets. It confuses me too. -Jahan

www.coasterforce.com was actually my first site. I remember registering for that site when I was probably about 13 with a Discovery Channel special's worth of knowledge (which isn't very much). I think one of my first posts was me "explaining" airtime to a bunch of teenagers and 20-year-olds. Dont much has changed. -Jahan
