  1. ^I do love it. But I gotta say, after riding Dudly Do Right a few weeks ago, that I like it better. Sorry Knott's
  2. I am loving this thread! I hope it gets bumped to the front page. I look forward to the rest of it. Your juxtaposition of facts, pictures and personal stories is fascinating reading. If you ever decide to put it all into a coffee table book. I would gladly pre-order one right now. Like you, I have a great love for this particular ride as well. My father was Sea Bee Engineer in the Navy, and we moved every 2 years up and down the Southern California coast. But for the most part we kept bouncing back to being stationed in San Diego. While not as active as you were in seeing this coaster restored, I did have a great interest in it as a child. My uncle Henri and Aunt Susan lived, and still live about 20 blocks away from the park and we would often stroll by there on morning and evening walks when we would visit. I had my first rides on the Dipper (then Earthquake) in 75' & 76'. Next to the Matterhorn, Corkscrew at Knott's, and The Great American Revolution, it was one of my first "Big Boy" rollercoasters. And as far as I can remember my first ever woodie. We moved across the US in fall of 76', and I didn't even realize that the park had shut down untill we came back to the westish coast (Vegas) in 81'. it was only then on a trip to see my Aunt and Uncle there in Mission Bay when I learned of the state in which the coaster existed. My Uncle Henri filled me and my brothers in on how no one was ever sure what was actually going on with the whole property. That it was tied up in some sort of legal battles because it was now a State Landmark. I remember he would always just end his comments with, "I really don't care what they do with it. I just want them to either fix it, or tear it down. Cause all it is right now is an eyesore and a fire hazard." I didn't realize at the time that he was referencing the fires. It was such a pleasure to get to ride it again when I visited in 06'. For the past 4 years, I have made it a point to get in a few laps while I am down there working Comic Con. Again, fantastic thread. It is a pleasure reading this and I thank you.
  3. Well, I heard from the Dippin' Dots guy that it was, in fact, still the ice cream of the future. But that was a several weeks ago and he said his time machine was down, so someone may have discovered them by now and he is living in the past.
  4. We were really dissapointed that it opened a week after we were planning our trip down there. It looks awesome!
  5. ^^See the post above yours. It seems to have some insight to the questions you are asking. Just before you asked them... ...without reading the post that was just posted before your post.
  6. Single rider line on Lex Luthor and Green Lantern.
  7. IMHO based on the last time I was there, which was last week. I would put the Mummy way ahead of Hulk. Hulk was running like crap. Incredibly rough and fairly uninspired.
  8. Did you get the opportunity to ride Chipas yet? It looks amazing.
  9. What's this all about?
  10. That was just odd. Weird, awesome and odd. I love it!
  11. Yes, if you buy tomorrows Dippin' Dots today. Then they retain the ice cream of the future monikker. However, if you buy tomorrows Dippin' Dots tomorrow, then they instantly become the ice cream of the present. Furthermore, if you buy tomorrows Dippin' Dots 2 days from now, they become the ice cream of the past. Todays Dippin Dots are yesterdays past, and tomorrows future, while still remaining the ice cream of the present. But tomorrows Dippin' Dots will be todays past and the following days future. And two days from now when purchased today becomes future ice cream regardless of tomorrows outcome while making this days Dippin' Dots a puddle of colored milk cream substance. So... ...in answer to your question. Yes. And no.
  12. Perfect timing! I just finished the St. Patricks day and Guinea Pig update. Yay! 2 more doughnuts. Apu has an appartment! With Menjula! 160 doughnuts!? D'oh! Stupid doughnuts! '
  13. That's why fish have cornered the rap video market.
  14. Yeah, I got a Homer Budda. And it gave me 30 doughnuts. Still haven't been able to find Tod yet. I wonder where he went. I checked in my characters and I have all the Churchy Joes. But Tod is nowhere to be found. Rod wants to play on the seesaw with him badly. Rod - "You're closer to God!" Tod - "Now you're closer to God!" Rod - "Now you're closer to God!"
  15. I am loving the look of that flume ride. Backward sections are rare these days. The park looks beautiful. Thanks for the TR.
  16. I rode this for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. It was one of, if not the favorite ride of the family for our whole Orlando trip.
  17. Helix is way too macho to be gay. But then... What's the difference between a gay coaster and a straight coaster? A 6 pack.
  18. Soooooooo... ...that dude being fat and wallowing in his pre-concieved misery is my problem how?
  19. Has anyone else had Todd go suspiciously missing recently? Like on Fat Tuesday, or as some may call it the beginning of lent. I'm hoping they do a Todd risen from the dead on Easter kinda update! Where Ned places him in the tomb and a week later he returns as a the Holy Spirit. That would be awesome! But my question remains, has anyone else had Todd go suspiciously missing?
  20. When did it ever have the best coaster named Goliath?
  21. I check in on KL once a day. Usually when I visit my friends Springfields. Won 10 Doughnuts in the Mystery Box today. Woo Hoo! then got 3 more for leveling up. Yay!
  22. ^Yeah, I bought the falcon thinking it would do sonething cool like that. But now I just can't find it. Wasted Doughnuts.
