There looks to be so much pain involved with these things. Thanks for taking the bullet Robb. -
When is the Easter update supposed to end?

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

^Oh fear not comrade, the childish imp inside has not gone away. Trust in this, that he will often raise his ugly head. But I am going to be more cautious about over doing it. You know, kinda like actually seeing when I have reached the end zone and scored a touchdown. Instead of running straight throught end zone, into the lock@r room, taken a shower, gotten dressed, got in my car, driven home, sat down, turned on the TV, and still thought I could catch a replay on ESPN. My mind says to still do it, but do it and relish in it's glory. Savor the moment if you will. Then move on. Consider it Guytard 2.0 -

^^Facts being what they are, I have been known to walk the precarious line of what is punishable here at TPR from time to time. Not that I'm bragging, it's just that sometimes I don't see it until I go overboard. So I am going to take the initiative this time and show restraint. And now I return you to your regularly scheduled programming. Kings Island. -

Why thank you sir. Sarcasm is my canvas, and your appreciation is the only coin I desire. But an artist needs a muse, and in this thread I have found it in Diamondbacker27. So kudos and huzzah to this connectivity challenged young man. He is truly the gift giver here. Whom without, I would have long past this thread after the Banshee media day. He is the one we should be giving thanks to for entertaining us long past April 17th. Long may he reign here in this thread until whence time Kings Island installs a new thrill. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are loved and appreciated. Truthfully, I harbor no ill will. You are entitled to your opinion. And I do honestly respect that. I just can't resist. The gremlin in my psyche doesn't allow it. What can I say? I'm evil. Honestly, I mean you no harm. Apologies if I have at all overstepped my jest. I do not want to drive anyone away, and hereby end my chiding. -

Got it! And in my opinion, based solely on your previous posts, you're sarcasm is poor at best. It seems to me what you just said implied that the GP in the area is prone to believing every urban legend that passes their consciousness. Which is kind of insulting to the locals. And, the way you described it is that there are so many unsafe rumors about Dimondback, (completely unfounded I might add) that no one rides it in fear of losing their lives. And that it repeatedly had no wait in years past because of previously stated fact. So in order to get people to ride it again, they added seat belts to alleviate all of the local morons concerns. So now, the new complaint is that they slow down operations for those individuals who are passive restraint challenged. Sounds to me like Kings Island is facing a lose lose scenario here. They should just close the park and turn it into a huge parking lot for the Great Wolf Lodge. But now I've heard rumors that the slides are unsafe and GWL will be adding seat belts to their mats and tubes for next year. Which takes us back to square one. -
I didn't really like the projection mapped faces at first, but watching them in the context of the ride, I am very impressed. projection mapping is as of now, about 50% of the work I do. I am really fascinated about where the projectors are placed, what kind of projectors they're using, and what the actual surface is that they're projecting on, lenses, server software, etc. This is some of the nicest stuff I've seen.

They should have gone the SDC route. Started a year early, then deny, deny, deny, until you're ready to announce. If you asked anyone in the park the year before, what they were building (even though it was painfully obvious it was a coaster) they would just respond with, "Construction? I haven't noticed any construction." Then when the ride was almost complete, they announced, "Hey er'body, guess what? We're building a coaster for next year. Surprise!" Oh, and it will be fully functioning when we open the gates for the first time of the season. In March!

I was told by the Dippin' Dots guy, "next year they were going to require all riders on all coasters to wear helmets and neck braces. They are expecting this small modification to only increase dispatch times to one train every 10 minutes. So unless the kid who doesn't know how to use a buckle rides. Capacity shouldn't be an issue." -

Wow! First world problems. How difficult your life must be compared to all the starving impoverished people of this earth. -
^Yeah. I thought it was just random.

Just checked and she has 15 days left till the big day for me. Can't wait too see the dialogue I'm down to 16.5. Whatever happens has got to be epic! I hope it's Jesus. Has Jesus ever appeared on the Simpsons? I don't remember. That would make my month.

The restraints are very comfortable. I only rode in outside seats, so my view was unobstructed. The view from the front row especially going over the first hill is amazing. I think I like the front row best. IMHO the back row had a consistent rattle. That may change as the ride breaks in over the summer. -

So very jealous! -
Mostly it seems I have gotten fences from the golden eggs. I did get one pond and the Banana Dictatorship, so I can't complain. But I seem to have lucked out on the Blue and Pink eggs. I keep getting Gold eggs from them. But on a more important note. 19 DAYS TILL BRANDINE SQUIRTS OUT HER SPUCKLER! I am so excited!

You could always turn on the subtitles in English if you want to make sense of it all I could do that. But then I won't be able to imagine what he's really saying is how he wants to make mad passionate love to his new ride. And I like it better that way. -

First and foremost. That Beast footage is spectacular Robb. I'm not just saying this to kiss your a$$, but you shoot coasters better than anyone. And I'm happy it got the love it so desperately needed. I look forward to riding it again this year. With that said, I gotta agree with the just good crowd. Of my 10+ rides on Beast, I have never gotten that OMFG feeling so many people have described. Is it a bad ride? Not in the slightest. I enjoyed it a lot. It would definitely pop up somewhere in the middle of my Wood Coaster list. But I think all the overhype of the, "OMFG! You have to ride it in the middle of the night on a full moon, or new moon, or after they have just greased the tracks on a 120 degree day, hopped up on mushrooms while praying to Cthulhu and drinking you own urine!" crowd. I just don't get it. Again, to each his own. I respect your passionate enthusiasm. But don't get angry at me because I didn't have the life altering, mood altering, religious experience you did. Don't justify it by saying I rode it on a bad day, or not at night, or not on a full moon, or when there was no moon, or too early in the season, or too late, high, drunk, or not. I'm ecstatic it's your favorite coaster. Every coaster enthusiast needs a favorite. It's what makes this hobby fun. But just because it isn't mine, don't berate me and call me an idiot. I just didn't have the same experience you did. And until that perfect day when I do, it will live in my muddled middle. I want to enclude all the Voyage fanboys in this statement as well. Except I like Beast more. A lot more. -

I did not understand a word of what he was saying in that video. But, with that said, what I got from it was how much he loves Helix and he is so proud of the way it turned out. He was just glowing with pride. And he should be. I think Liseberg has another world class coaster on their hands here.
