^Exactly what I was thinking. I was expecting a lot more theme and unity to their color scheme. Honestly, it looks like a larger version of Knott's Soak City. It also looks like they are using the usual plug and play lay outs for tube slides, drop slides, etc. Nothing original as of yet. Honestly, I was expecting more from the Busch Group.

Wow! How have I missed this thred? This park looks like it's going to be awesome! It doesn't shock me that it is taking so long to get this place put together. Afterall, most water parks are built using just steel supports and concrete. This whole park is being carved out of a hill. I love the fact that everything is neutral colors. It has much more of a natural feel to it. When are they expecting completetion? it looks as if they have quite a lot of work to do still. That wave pool looks massive! do you know how many gal./ltr. it will be? Keep us updated. Your pictures are awesome!

Screamin Swings?
Guy T. Koepp replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Honestly, I love the screaming swings. I think they need to add some cool water elements. Some fountains that you swing through would be neat as well as a fountain that shoots up and you swing up into the water that is falling down on you. We also havn't seen one of these enclosed yet. With alot of effects and such. You could realy add an entirely new dimension to them. Just my two cents. -
I hate Seagulls. Actually, I hate birds in general. Filthy disease ridden animals! Consider yourself lucky that you only got dive bombed by one. It could have been carrying ebola and you might be bleeding out the ears right now. So remember, it could always be worse. Anywhoo... ...Looks like you had a great time, blah, blah, blah. Makes me want to go back soon, blah, blah, blah. Great TR, blah, blah, blah. So glad you had a wonderful time Chuck. Awesome TR.

Whoa, A little too excited? I liked the idea of the land being re-themed, and the Booster Bike idea is cool. But no changes to Mythos, when I went to IOA in 01' Mythos was sweet. I don't went that changed to the great hall, no way!! I hate to tell you this. But Re-themeing Mythos might be exactly what it does need. If you havn't been since 01' then you havn't experienced the gradual demise to what was once one of the best Theme Park dining experiences in the US. Not that their bad by industry standards. Just compared to their own standards set way back. It has gone way downhill.

5th Dimension Coaster Idea
Guy T. Koepp replied to Android's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A 5th dimension coaster. That sounds great. www.tunefan.com/5thdimension.htm Guy "They are one of my favorite bands. It's high time someone made a coaster out of them." Koepp -
Horizontal bunjee jump
Guy T. Koepp replied to Calvin's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Brain Trauma like an aneurism or pre existing condition. Oh yeah. For a concusion to occur she would have to sustain some sort of blow to the head. So unless the bungee cord broke and she slammed into something. In the position the harness kept her, the possibility of that is not likely. Not that this is by any means safe at all. -
5th Dimension Coaster Idea
Guy T. Koepp replied to Android's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why not just climb into a giant hamster ball and roll yourself down a hill. Same effect, no harness. -
I don't dislike this Idea as much as the rest of you seem to. I for one realy like the books. I also feel the films have been pretty well done. We are getting ready to sit down with Jarett & January and start reading the books with them for the first time. If every parent who has read the books does this for their children, then you have an all new generation of children ready and primed for this themed land. If those kids read the books to their children you are now 20+years down the road. That's a franchise with legs. I just hope if Universal realy goes through with this. They have to realy commit to it. If the project is illconcieved or "cheaped" out. Then I am in agreement that it will most likley be re-rethemed in 5-10 years after that. I think this franchise has a lot of imagination tied into it and the possibilities for themed attractions are great! DD may have it's name changed and might get an interesting facelift but wont need to be toyed with much to fit the theme. As for other ride possibilities, just watch the movies. There are dozens upon dozens of excellent new ride ideas. If it's done well. As far as a little too late goes. I also beg to differ. I will use Disney as a prime example. How long ago did Nemo come out? 2003. When will the ride open @ Dland? 2007, four years after the film. Monsters Inc. came out in 2001. 5 years later a ride was remodled to make it at CA. Now Disney is building a Toy story ride at two of it's parks. Toy Story came out in 95. 08 will make it 13 years after hype that Disney completes this ride. Yeah, that's spot on timing. So I don't accept this arguement at all. Nor do I believe that any of the Pixar characters are as timeless as the Potter books. In fact, they seem to date themselves quite well. Speaking of the Potter books, no one has mentioned the international appeal these things hold. This franchise is in the billions and billions sold catagory. Honestly, this could be the international gold mine Universal has been looking for. Now suddenly IOA is taking away international visitors that would have otherwise spent another day at WDW. Again, if this rumor is true. Universal can not half ass this thing. If they are to do it they realy must do it well. Much like the intent of IOA when it first opened. Make it spectacular or don't make it at all. Just my 2 cents.

The adventure of Lil' Robby Robb
Guy T. Koepp replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love Rabbi Joey! Funniest Character in a while. I thought Jeff J's skin could have been more tan and leathery. But no biggie. I can not say it enough. Your characters are great, your story telling is awesome. You do a masterful job. You inspire me. Keep up the awesome work. -
I think there needs to be some sort of defining factor that would constitute a ride being considered a new credit. Are Steel Phantom & Phantom's Revenge seperate credits? To this I would say yes, as there was modification to the track as well as the trains. Just changing the trains doesn't qualify IMHO. In all actuallity I don't think it will change the ride experience at all. The height of the seats gave it a feel of floorless anyway. Kraken used to have floors? I thought it was built floorless.

Wow! Blackpool does a lot of work on their off season. Is this normal, or is this an unusualy special year that they are celebrating? Great Pictures. I've never seen Robb with glasses before. Are those new, or do you usually wear contacts? I almost didn't recognise you. You're like the Clark Kent/Superman of coaster enthusiasts. Does that make Elissa the Lois Lane of female coaster enthusiasts? Cause Dave would be a perfect Lex Luthor if we shaved his head. Oooo. Lou could be Miss Tessmocker. Derek could be Jimmy Olsen. ETC. ETC. ETC. Great TR. I look forward to more UK adventures.

Your realy bored there in England. Arn't you? I have great news! It looks like I will be done with the vid next week. We need to get together to off line the whole thing. Mabey work on some Disc Jacket designs. I have test screened several segments with some of my toughest critics and they seem to realy enjoy it. I am looking forward to yours and Elissa's reactions. We'll see what stays and what goes. tic tac toe rocks as well.

This seems like fun. Mabey I will have a little time this year to actualy sit down and try something like this. Keep them comming. They are quite creative.
