  1. Wow...where to start, I just got back into video games after about 8 years so i'm playing ALOT of catch-up and also beating games i've had for 15 years that I never beat SNES - Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past --just started the first dark world dungeon N64 - Donkey Kong 64 - 105 of 200 gold bananas - Legend of Zelda: Oceana of Time - well i'm stuck trying to figure out how to get to the top of death mountain (no help please!) - Legend of Zelda: Madora's Mask - Will start after i finish OoT - Tony Hawk 1&2- working on this from time to time GC - Super Mario Sunshine - haven't gotten much into the game - Metroid Prime - first level completed GB - Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - almost finished level 2 Virtual Boy - Wario Land - Level 3 GBA - Metroid Fusion - i'm in sector 6 right now DS - New Mario Bros - Completed but I need to go back and find the remaining golden coins and special exits and such - Yoshi's island DS - level 3 (i think, it's been a while since i've played) - Tomb Raider: Legend - about halfway thru - Trauma Center - i'm stuck on about the 9th or so operation - Mario Kart DS - 50cc finished with gold, 100cc mostly done - Metroid Prime: Hunters - almost beat the 2nd level and then I shut off my DS after I died trying to get back to Samus' gunship and realizing there was a single save the entire level so i'm have to redo the entire thing...at least it will go much faster the second time Wii!!!! Elebits - i'm at level 10 but i've gotten mostly C rating so i'll have to go back after I finish the game....Gotta find those damn ELEBIT!!! Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - I just finished the forest dungeon but Collage comes first (well, most of the time)..... I just gotta comment about a few games... Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Hunter man I love the style of graphics Nintendo used to bring Metroid into 3D. They are just so awesome and the Prime series has really brought the Metroid series back! I i've had Metroid II for like 15 years (and never beat it, which will be started as soon as I get ahold of a DX version) and i've also played Super Metriod a good deal (but I don't own...gotta get a copy of that too) and i've always enjoyed them so i'm really glad that this series has made such a comeback and I can't wait too get ahold of the original NES title which i've never played and also Prime 2. Wii is just going to make Metroid even better. Oh and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess just wow, i've played for 10-12 hours now (probably should be further than the right after the forest dungeon with that much time shouldn't i?). But it only took a hour or two for me to proclaim it as the best Zelda ever! The graphics are just beautiful and i can't wait to get back to the game on friday (i put myself on a LoZ:TP ban during the week). So many games...so little time
  2. This isn't going to take that long to put up...SFNE's spinner from start to finish was less than 3 months.
  3. YES! It's my B-DAY! I finally get my WII today! Too bad i've been working on a Civil Engineering Lab all day and still have hours to go on it, and a exam today and class from 11:00am to 8pm So i'll have to wait until Friday to actually play it! I can't wait. I can't wait until the Wii catches up with XBox360 and takes over the market share! With the 3rd Party support increasing like it is, Nintendo is so going to being the leader again! BTW...lets not forget about the DS which sold 700,000 units last month! (compare to PSP's 230,000)
  4. I love the way IOA is today and has been for 8 years. I don't thing any of the island should be changed really from there theme. but it would be need if some new rides were added. JP really need a ride such as a flyer or something. Also toon lagoon needs more. One thing I was annoyed about from the start was that Universal didn't get more land for the addition of completely new islands down the road. I like the LC the way it is...no Harry Potter please
  5. I trend to disagree...I mean three weeks is about the amount of time it would take to tear down and rebuilt the trains anyways. That's basically what they are more or less doing. They will just be using a new frame. And i'm sure they will be reusing the wheel chassis just with the added wheel guards that are the norm on floor-less coasters. I think most of the time spend on this will be in the station, which i'd think would be done by contacted work anyways. I don't really see this as pointless as far as the ride experience goes. But I also don't really see why they are spending the money to do this though, cause it does seem a waste of money on there part. Personally I don't see why they didn't just do it in 20-30 years when new trains are needed anyways. So I guess i'm contradicting myself but my basic thought is that it's cool they are doing, but it seem like a waste of money on THEIR half but not a waste on OUR half.
  6. Some high g places may only have two rails but notice that you'll see that the supports are placed closer together. Most of the time it's done that way because it is cheaper to have only 2 rails and more supoorts but would provide the same amount of strength as 3 or 4 rails and less supports would.
  7. Look awesome, love the halfpipe turns. Interesting how the station's structure was used to support the track. Hopefully the Crossbow at Bowcraft isn't a preview of how this one runs, cause the Crossbow while smooth did have some jerky transitions.
  8. New pics from the air taken 1-31-07 http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/new2007gf.html interesting supports right before the mcbr, i'm guessing they are for the cable cars to pass under.
  9. Before reading this my take on this was the park would never reopen (at least by six flags). After reading this i'd say that it could happen at least with a portion of the park rebuilt at first. But it won't happen until or if six flags gets all of it's insurance money. I don't think Six Flags will get out of the contract with the city any time soon though, at least with Major Ray Nagin is around. Which a guess is bad thing for Six Flags seeing they are so far in the red. While I want them to do what they have to do get out of debt (without seeing another pointless AstroWorld deal though), I also think it for the good for the city that the park opens within a few years. I think removing Batman is a bad thing and makes me contradict myself to think more that Six Flags has no plans to reopen the park. It's one of the few things that could have been refurbished the fastest. I guess that they could always reinstall it though, if the footing weren't damaged by the storm and flood and the removal of the ride. I just really think it's important for the park to reopen. People are coming back to the city....people are rebuilding. Six Flags should do the same. But at the same time I don't think they need more than half of the park for the time being, because while people are coming back to the city, it's going to take 10 more years until the city is even close to being rebuilt. It's a messed up situation, no doubt. It's great that they have been getting money from renting out the parking lot to government, but i'd hope they will have the park operating at some level by the latest 09. It seems it's all riding on whether or no they get there insurance money. They have to spend the money on the park if they get the money thought....right?
  10. I'm with Ellisa here, while B&Ms are more expensive than most companies you would think that the low shipping costs would more than make up for that. I mean come on the manufacturing plant for one of the best designers out there is less than 20 miles away from the park and they have none. Hell i'll tell you the truth though...PKI is one the few parks i'd be fine with if they didn't add a coaster or ride for more than 10 years. They basically have every front covered from coasters (wood and steel), rides (thrill, family and kids), ect. Only thing I could think of really is Wild Mouse and a TRUE hyper (but of course it wouldn't be B&M, I think the mouse would have a better chance being a B&M). Oh and personally I think moving this ride is a waste of money. This isn't a nickle and dime operation here, moving a ride costs millions. This ride's problems will always be there (and how Zamperla of all companies who's ride are known the be maintance nightmare get it right when B&M or even Vekoma (who you have to admit while crappy don't have much downtime) couldn't).
  11. Umm...yea Over the years i've most likely ranked up maybe 500 rides total rides on some of my home park coasters. Some which are my favorites of the 400 coasters i've been on but I couldn't go more than 15 rides on those coasters in one day by myself. I'm usually bored by 10 or so. With friends yea I could go more than that, because we're talking most of the time. The most i've ever gone on one ride by myself (for the most part my dad rode a few times and was of course at the park with me) was like 75 times and after that it was like 50 then 25 a bunch of times. Once I did about 100 laps in one day (actually a few hours) with a bunch of friends. Not only would I get so bored of the same park and really bored of the same coaster, but i'd get more lonely and feel pathetic more than anything. I love my home parks but I only visited them weekly at the start and end of the season. The summer month i'll get there once maybe twice and the rest of the time is spent traveling. It's impressive but i'd think someone who has ridden 1000 DIFFERENT coasters once is much more impressive (even if 100 of them at kiddie coasters and another 150 are clones). At least then you know they have a good and successful career.
  12. That's awesome to hear another Rocket is being built, hopefully the height is the only thing it will have is common with Kannonen though. I really hope some US parks will get back to building Rockets though, but i'm sure they've been scared away with all that they hear about Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka.
  13. And we all know that has to go down as the lamest claim a park has even made up! Like Mindbender really needed that sily claim anyways.
  14. Man look how close the Immelman is to the Cable Cars! Gonna make for some awesome photos, maybe even better than Great Bear and there Skyride.
  15. Since the Rhine is man-made by a dam i'd guess no but even it did it wouldn't be enough to effect anything. Besides Griffon station area is at LEAST 20 feet above the water.
  16. I don't know a solid number but by using other rides that seem to go right up the roof might give us an idea. A Zamplera Rotorshake is 85 feet A Chance Gaint Wheel is 90 feet and that's about the size of the other EuroFighters. I've never been to the park but from the photos i'd never though there would be room for another major coaster. to save people some time I've captured the photo from the video above. Custom Design!
  17. If you think about it they would be able to reuse the seats (and the seat frames) and also the wheel chasis, and some other parts, so all that would have to be manufactured really would be the frame and the dropping floors. So if they go that way it would cut down the price greatly but still wouldn't be cheap. As for the floors, they really wouldn't be all the hard to be installed since they just bolt right onto the track's backbone. Alot harder to install after the ride has been built of course. I could see this happening but at the same time I don't really see the point.
  18. KMG Move-its are awesome, one of my favorite flat rides ever! I have to agrue that they uncomfortable, since i've always found them very comfortable considering how much your upside down. This does seem like a problem reoccuring problem for these to get stuck upside once in a while (power loss?), I remember it happening once before at some church carnival here in the states.
  19. This is truely a awesome looking park that really looks as if the detail put into it is on par with IoA. As for the Kumbak trains for Stampida, they look like crap...no padding what so ever on the lapbars or in the seats. Your ass is going to miss the 9 inches of foam padding the PTCs have.
  20. IS that a cell phone tower in the middle of the spaland slide tower? lol
  21. Awesome pics! Got to hand to the people who actually put some time into there photos. on a side note does anyone have any POV of Winjas and some pics of the vertical lift, and the tilting track?
  22. Wow would never thought that was a que line...how awesome, you'd never see that here without a 10 foot fence between the que and rapids. What nice parks, never really heard of them either.[/img]
  23. GCI - Gwazi (the only saving grace was the PTCs) B&M - Apollo's Charrit, ya I know i'll get beatten up for this, but i've just never been a fan of it, (followed by Hydra, but those are the only two of the 33 i've been on that i've disliked, I even liked Iron Wolf) Intamin - Can't think of any, maybe the the juniors but even they weren't really bad (or really Intamin cause they were just the middle-man back then).
  24. I'd been wondering what happened to Runaway Coaster at Rotunda Amusement Park when it was closed in 2003, well it seems it has finally found a new home next year! Seem more on rcdb.com
