Let just hope this doesn't turn into another lost hope like Thunder Eagle or even at this point the way it is going, Starliner. I really do question how much of the structure will be reuseable. Many people don't realized that when a wooden coaster is moved (particularly older ones) very little wood is reused but all the machinary as the lift hill stuff, the brakes, and of course the train(s).

Lethal Weapon Pursuit closed for good
Alexander Nagel replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I still really don't get the point of this. It makes no sense that this ride is getting the same treatment as Viper. -
Finally something a layout would be nice or a name or anything. I'm really looking forward see how they are going to do a hyper at a studio park. If it's going to be well themed or not. If it's going to run around the park or be isolated to one area. You know it would be awesome if it had an Hulk launched lift hill.

ahhh...that's nothing. Last year on the final Saturday they did 54,000 that day (most ever in the parks history). I was there but all I did was arrive see it was a mess took photos of Kingda Ka from outside the park and went home.

Photo TR: Mountain Adventure Park
Alexander Nagel replied to Token Yankee Guy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Well after riding the one at Glenwood Cavens a few weeks ago, I had thought about trying this one out when going up to The Great Escape this saturday. Now looks like i'll be cutting my day at The Great Escape a little short since this one looks even better than the one at Glenwood Caven. Craig - how much is it to ride the alpine coaster & slide? -
For those living or traveling around the Philadelphia area for the next week i just thought i'd let you know that the PA State Fair has two credits set up. One is a Wisdom Dragon Wagon and the other is a Zierer Flitzer. The fair is being run by Reithoffer Shows and runs until June 4th For more info log on to http://www.pennsylvaniafair.com/

As a resident of PA i'll go on a limb and state that I also think OC, MD is a dump and damn it i had gotten all the credit the time I was there i'd never go back. I had awesome time on Trimper's Zipper though (I had like 10 ride in a row on it). And I didn't know Trimpers had a wacky worm it must be new as RCDB doesn't even list it.

this doesn't answer anything but here's a tip 1. Get to SFEG early you'll be bored after a max of 4 hours so then 2. GO TO Lakeside! Don't miss out on Lakeside it's a gem not to be missed...Actually If someone told me they could only do one of the denver parks i'd say do Lakeside (then Waterworld, then SFEG)

Why did CCI fail?
Alexander Nagel replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There was alot more to the demise of CCI than people think. First Lets cover some of the crap Denise Dinn pulled -She would bid the lowest possable price just to get a project...reguardless if it was financially sound -By getting into this habbit she ended up playing off the end of previous project when she signed for the upcoming projects. -When Denise 'finished' a project and had packed up and left it wasn't uncommion for a park to then start getting phone calls from all types of (mostly local) companies (such as lumber yards and such) wondering where their money was. -A good amount of the rides out there were somewhat underbuilt (with exception of the parks who learned they had to watch Denise every step of the way). -If Denise got behind on a project she would never take the blame instead she'd lie and falsely blame vendors involved with the project. -The only reason we started to see the Gerstlauer was because Denise owed a crap load of money to PTC. Also the Gerstlauer trains did actually cost a little bit more (hell they did have to be shipped overseas). -From about 1998/1999 or so on all PTCs that went on CCIs were because the parks knew that the Gerstlauers Denise was trying to dump on them were in no comparison to PTCs. In these cases PTC would pretty much only deal with the park directly. -Also about Cliff's...aside from being left to finish the project themself of course with two weeks of payroll...unpayed. Well the entire projected ended up costing Cliffs about 1 million more than originally quoted by by CCI. What ended it all.... -Well since Denise Dinn-Larrick and Randy Larrick owned the company 50/50 the divorce is what closed the company. -But ya...ha what many people don't know the true reason for the divorce...ya, Denise was having an affair with one of the CCI employies. -When the company closed it owed MILLIONS to many companies (from PTC to webhosting). Well for some reason some idoit judge about a half year after the company closed ruled poor little Denise not financially responable for all the money she owed. I know of one company that is still to this day recovering from their losses. Denise after CCI -Everyone knows she moved on to S&S... -Well it wasn't long until she was up to her old tricks again -She was let go from S&S around the time J2 at Clementon Amusement Park opened -I've heard she now with some small company in FL, not sure which though. Well there is the "real" truth...Denise Dinn was and still is nothing but a crook... Thanks the engineers (basically what is The Gravity Group today) for the awesome rides they produced... Oh and BTW from what i've heard her father wasn't much different.... I could probably go on a lot longer but i think you've got the point.... -
Busch Gardens Name Changes
Alexander Nagel replied to stew560's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The old names would confuse people even more...Hell the reason Six Flags changed "Over Mid-America" to "St. Louis" was because they did a survey and found out people outside the advertising radius had no idea the park was located right outside of St. Louis. -

Ya thank god the s-curve hill is nothing like Apollo's Chariot, this one looks like it will be exciting. -
Beech Bend and SFKK in one day?
Alexander Nagel replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ya it's shouldn't be hard to do...plus with the time change you'll get an extra hour. I've only planned for just over 2 hours at Kentucky Kingdom this year, but that also becuase i've been there a few times. Twisted Sisters is awesome despite the Gerstlauers (probably the only coaster i've been on that I didn't mind them), Thunder Run was running awesome in 2003, and you can't go wrong with a Schwarzkopf. Chang isn't half bad either. I could easily spend a half day, but there is other stuff I rather do. -

Your favorite coaster tunnel
Alexander Nagel replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh man how could of have forgotten The "World Famous" Lakeside Cyclone! And OH crap Dragon Mountain too! I really can't believe I didn't think of that at first. As for the "I had no idea the tunnel existed reward" that would go to Jack Rabbit at Seabreeze, Caroline Cyclone at Paramount's Carowinds, and also Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. -

Well I had been wondering for a while if this ride ran as screwed up (in a good way) as it looks. PAX is crazy there rides just don't look right. Also could you tell me was there much movement in the track and supports in area where is passes under the lift and that first helix, it just looks like it must. -
Your favorite coaster tunnel
Alexander Nagel replied to chavslayer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorates in the order that they popped into my head. - Grizzly at Paramount's Kings Dominion - Steel Force at Dorney Park (both of them) - Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood - Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - Phoenix at Knoebels Amusement Resort - Twister at Knoebels Amusement Resort - Mine Train at Six Flags Over Texas - Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England (just barely makes the list) Those are the only ones that really impressed me of the 360 coasters i've been on. One that I haven't have the pleasure of riding but looks awesome is the Tunnels of Tremors at Silverwood. I've always loved how you pop out of the first and thirds tunnels only to dive back into another tunnel. Also Hades of course looks awesome but i've yet to ride it. Oh I might add that one of my home park, Six Flags Great Adventure really needs to think about doing a tunnel sometimes. Ya it would have been nice if El Toro featured one. Oh...and I do think Voyage's tunnels will be leaving on a lasting impression on many people. -
hmmm Slow: Not really Boring: Ya I can see where some people can think that, I'd liked them because they are differant from the norm. Forceless: HELL NO! You must of gotten them on bad days. Like when I was at SFDL and it was very windy and I could just feel the wind killing the airtime on the second and/or third hills.
