What is the coolest coaster name?
JG-77 replied to Hilltopper39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this gem yet: https://rcdb.com/3067.htm It literally has the word "cool" twice in it's name, therefore it is twice as cool as every other coaster XD Edit: Nevermind, It's been mentioned multiple times already, I must have misspelled something when I searched this thread the first time to ensure I wasn't repeating someone. Still one of the best coaster names of all time tho -

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

This might be one of the most short-sighted posts I've ever read. Archiving this one. Have you seen what Vekoma has built in the last few years, and what they have lined up for the next? I would absolutely love to see Vekoma take the family suspended coaster and do a terrain layout (a la discount Eagle Fortress) in the ravine with Phantom's Revenge and Thunderbolt. That would be great, and if they did it with one of their wacky new looping coasters it would be even better. Vekoma has always been a volume player with their boomerangs, suspended looping coasters, and junior coasters, but they've been stepping up their game in terms of layout design in the past few years. Lech Coaster is on my bucket list. Ever since I first saw what new Vekoma has been doing in Europe and Asia, I've been dreaming of one of those masterpieces being brought overseas to North America. If Vekoma continues it's winning streak and builds more and more of these insane new-generation coasters, they could seriously compete with RMC, Intamin, and the others for the title of best manufacturer! Even if they don't quite reach that level, they definitely win the "most improved player" award. -
This style of ride is still just an "okay" ride concept. Neither version is going to crack many people's favorites list. Actually, while I can't speak from personal experience, I've heard from multiple sources that Insane at Gronu Lund (a clone of Green Lantern) is quite a fun ride, and a massive improvement over Green lantern (despite Insane coming first and GL being a clone of Insane). Apparently whatever Grona Lund does when running Insane is much better than what SFMM's been doing to GL. It even breaks incrediblecoaster's (username "XII" on TPR) top ten steel list http://www.incrediblecoasters.com/Top10SteelCoasters.html.

I personally have never been too bothered by clones. My home park is SFA, which is made up almost entirely of clones and relocations (actually, if you count the fact that Roar at SFDK was a modified clone of SFA's roar, then our entire collection of coasters are clones and relocations), but that doesn't bother me too much. A good coaster is a good coaster, and I'd rather have a clone of a good coaster in my park then a bad original coaster. I don't think I've ever heard any GP complain about SFA being made of clones and relocations, probably because none of them know or care. The GP goes to amusement parks for a day of fun and rides, why would they give a sh*t if a coaster they probably don't even remember the name of is a clone?

Really? I've been on SFA's Joker's Jinx quite a few times and I've never seen any walks of shame. I wonder it it's just a coincidence you saw many walks of shame while I've seen none, or if there's some other factor. -
New theme park for Turkey, Ankapark.
JG-77 replied to _koppen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ankapark is opening this Monday (according to RCDB)!!! I can't wait to see what come of this park, the sheer bizarreness of this place makes me super intrigued to see how this play out. Does anyone have any updates on what's been added since the last update? -

As far as the grab bars go, I think the best thing for us to do is continue over-analyzing them for at least another 3 pages before being satisfied -

I think everyone just wants to believe it's an overbank. If everyone belives in the overbank, our dreams will come true -
A few questions: Which steel coaster is the most sincere? Which RMCs are the most and least sincere? Favorite/coolest thing you've done on a trip (not necessarily amusement park related) Which TPR smiley/emoji is your favorite? And because you asked for Hamilton questions: What makes the Reynolds pamphlet your favorite song? I personally don't have a definitive favorite song, but I generally choose "wait for it."

If I have learned correctly, I'm pretty sure the government is actually helping fund the park! Yeah, I remember reading they are getting EU development funds *Looks back through Energylandia discussion thread to see where I read that* Ahh here it is, page 36 of this thread: (Btw Idk where coasterfrik got his info from, I'm just repeating what I've read) -

Just curious, does "later" mean in the next few hours, days, weeks, some other value, or do you not know yet? Regardless, the video looks great! Can't wait for the reviews to pour in, and for me to possibly ride this thing someday! -
Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread
JG-77 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We'd probably have to spot them sitting nearby. The Marketing team st SFA is pretty bad for the most part so I definitely wouldn't expect an announcement I would expect that SF corporate wouldn't fund new trains unless SFA made some sort of announcement or at least some sort of informal recognition (like on the website or at least on social media). I'm ~98% sure that mind eraser will not see new trains in 2018. -

If I remember correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong) SFNE announced that their Mind Eraser would get new trains. I would assume that if SFA's Mind Eraser was to get new train, they would have announced it somewhere. There's no point in getting Mind Eraser new trains if nobody knows that it has new trains.
