  1. I think they are about 5 years too late with that one, but at least it is a name I recognize
  2. I love it. A show about solving murders at SFMM. You can't make this stuff up.
  3. If any suit actually makes it through the courts, I am sure Disney will be arguing that the ADA doesn't even apply to Segways. I believe the ADA has specific wording regarding what a building has to accommodate, and Segways definitely are not on there. Long story short, the ADA requires them to make reasonable accommodations. They rent wheelchairs and ECV's and all their venues/transportation/etc. are accessible to wheelchairs and ECV's. That's more than reasonable IMO.
  4. Agreed. While he definitely comes off a little arrogant, whenever you are dealing with the high ups of public companies, it is hard to get a straight answer.
  5. 2pac is still alive?
  6. I think its over rated. It's definitely good, but it is not OMG wow.
  7. You know what isn't included in the word filter? Bantron. Please keep your posts on topic, relevant to the discussion, and appropriate or you will be introduced to bantron.
  8. Agreed. It's not quite on the level of the biggest E-ticket dark rides (Indy's, Spiderman, etc.), but it's definitely right behind them! Definitely better than all the Sally rides and "fantasyland" style dark rides. The only other one I can think of in the same category is the one at Walibi Belgium.
  9. That's not always true. Disney and Universal are perfect examples of this. Some days it is just extremely busy, so even doing 2000 or more people per hour still only accounts for a very small percentage of the total guests in the park!
  10. ^I count 7 people I know for sure have been on all three.
  11. How many people who voted have actually been on all three?
  12. ^Why listen to Rome when TPR will have the same thing! Although I hate Robb as much as I hate Jim Rome, so I guess I am out of options...
  13. ^That would require listening to Jim Rome. I think I'll pass.
  14. ^^Those are great questions. To add to that: -How does the park plan to counteract the perception that "the park is being sold" (still a very popular question my friends ask me)? -If he had the opportunity to do it again, would he still list SFMM for sale? Other random things I thought of... -How does the company plan to compete for quality managers and line employees in tough job markets like so cal (where a theme park manager can make more at USH, or a line employee can make more at In'N'Out)? -What advice can you offer to aspiring theme park CEO's?
  15. What was the real story behind announcing the return of Metro? Now that Disney is introducing the Idol attraction, what are your plans for integrating the DCP brands? The topic of food seems to come up as a common complaint amongst SF parks (quality of food, price, etc.): what are your thoughts on the food offerings at SF parks? Where do you see the food offerings heading (more chains, unique signature offerings, etc.)?
  16. Here's how I look at it... Jahan...a little over a year...he's a supervisor My friends at Disney? Only one has made it to the emerging leaders program, and it took him 3 years. The other one I know who is full time took 7 years to get her job. The rest of them are stuck as leads, trainers, and ride ops. It seems that is just how the Disney machine works...get your 10 emerging leaders every year to develop (which they do a great job of), and leave everyone else behind until its time for the next round. That's not to say Disney isn't a great place to work, or that waiting longer to move up at Disney is a bad thing...It's just how the systems work. MM offers a great opportunity to move up and gain valuable experience at a younger age (I know I wouldn't have moved up as quick as I did without experience I got being a lead at RRv when I was only 16!). Jay even gave a great example to us at the DVD party, about how a lead made a suggestion and they ran with it, when talking about all the upcoming things going on with the park... At least I think that is what Jahan is getting at.
  17. ^Sure. It will only cost you $20. Which is apparently way too much.
  18. If you go once a week, I doubt you care about hitting all the rides all the time. As cliche as it is, 9/11 changed the industry forever. Changed travel habits, oil prices, affected our economy, etc. Parks had to create new revenue streams to survive.
  19. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41107&highlight=sierra Please use the search function before posting a new topic.
  20. Here's a better question: premium options like flash passes/Front of the Line/express/etc., VIP tours, preferred/valet parking, and so on... Or... No new rides, less staff, parks going out of business, etc. That's really what it comes down to. Take away those added revenue streams, and then what?
  21. They will still flood. It's up to the operators to keep them clean. The flooding is caused by paper that gets wet and clogs the drain. Then once the paper gets inside the drainage area, it's basically stuck in the boat blocking the drain until a full rehab. Thankfully it looks like the boats are getting some TLC...
  22. It looks like SFMM actually put on the best job fair of all the so cal parks! USH's is just more computers to apply, I don't ever remember even hearing about any for KBF, and DLR's feels like a middle school science fair (each department has exhibits, but they are pretty lame). Good to see them trying to get their middle management team in the park too. That's what is going to make or break the park.
  23. Perhaps Knott's is looking for an excuse to make this years Solace the last one...
  24. Snape killed Dumbledore?
