  1. Have you actually been on Dodonpa? The launch and airtime hill were definitely the most insane 1-2 punch on a roller coaster that I have experienced, so I can see why people voted it as #76. As for Eagle Fortress...count me as another person who easily places the ride in my top 10. A suspended coaster with airtime?!?! It's just insane.
  2. ^^It's also hard to keep the forums professional (as you put it) when people respond so rudely to posts. So please, cut it out.
  3. ^Being "known for its big rides" is exactly why they want to diversify. They need more of the "smaller" coasters/rides to balance everything out.
  4. Said the SFDK employee. There's no bias at all in your opinion. Personally, I don't really think either park is all that great. They're both average parks to me. I'll keep visiting them to get the new credits, and have never had a bad day at either park, but there is nothing at either park that wows me either.
  5. ^Just to refresh your memory from two posts above yours:
  6. The USH one is as accurate as a drawing like that could be. The launch does go up a small hill. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the backwards drop goes straight down...it doesn't do that L thing. But I'm guessing it is drawn that way to make it clear that it leaves in another direction.
  7. I agree. Please share with us Jahan!
  8. ^Not really. You'll graduate from middle school, go your separate ways, and say "oh, ok. That was fun. NEXT."
  9. This will still be the first Six Flags park they have developed internationally.
  10. I'm with you on that one. It's getting out of hand how many announcements have been made over the last 5-6 years, but there's still not much to show for it yet besides a nice sales center, giant mall, and the awesome indoor ski place.
  11. ^Because they are not looking for "day trip" people. They are looking for people to stay at their hotel, and offering an exclusive indoor waterpark is definitely an advantage over other hotels in the area...
  12. I would guess that this is just a license/consulting deal, much like the Univeral deal in Dubai. If that is the case...good for SF. It's basically free money.
  13. All choices < Pre Show < Final Countdown
  14. I believe the price was dropped from $10 to $5 at KBF.
  15. That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane - Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock, speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height, down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population, common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine. Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning, blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle, light a votive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh, this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine. The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite. Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic, slam, but neck, right? Right. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...
  16. If you factor in the exchange rate...I would guess one of the coasters on the European fair circuit.
  17. ^^Sorry I find it hard to believe that a guy who had trouble figuring out how to properly compress his video contest entry is an expert on what qualifies as "broadcast quality." The problem with proclaiming something to be "broadcast quality" is that "broadcast quality" is extremely subjective. I guess technically you could say that anything that can produce a NTSC or ATSC image can be put on the air (which pretty much all cameras can do), but that doesn't mean stations are going to go out and use the JVC or Canon HDD cameras as their primary ENG cameras just because their footage can be put on the air. FWIW, I'd recommend sticking with miniDV or HDV for the time being. All the hard drive/flash drive codecs are still in their infancy, and can't yet match those more proven codecs when it comes to motion/artifacts/etc. They will...just not yet. Plus, those are the only two standard formats you can be sure everyone will support. With HDD/Flash cameras, manufacturers are still messing around with a bunch of different codecs (though AVCHD seems to slowly be winning out). Plus the cheaper costs of media and no hassle to archive everything is probably better for us "amateur" video people.
  18. One of the residents probably robbed the cities clerk at gunpoint. Seriously though...It's not a good area. Doesn't seem like a city with a big tax base. SFMW probably accounts for a huge share of the cities revenue.
  19. ^Since you work at a TV station, I assume you took the amazing raw footage your friend shot and looked at in on one of the stations properly calibrated monitors, used their vector scope and waveform monitor, etc. to accurately state that it was as good as broadcast footage.
  20. I said it in the other thread, so I guess I will say it here too: AWESOME! A show about solving murders. At SFMM. You can't make this stuff up.
  21. The Justice League Feast sure didn't last long...hope they got a return on the money they invested into sprucing the place up.
  22. ^Yeah, but it gets destroyed every 20 minutes or so. Damn thing just doesn't want to go away!
  23. By the way, Judgement Day was in 1997. So we're all just living on borrowed time anyways! Stupid SkyNet.
