I always love your photos. They ALWAYS make me jealous the fairs in the U.S. don't get any good rides -

^^Depends. Unloading behind the station means you need additional blocks, as the train behind the one unloading needs room to operate as well. -
One look at the standings thus far definitely proves the world must be ending in 2012.

^ Seems to me like the future of the park is clear: rides go bye bye in favor of a waterpark only operation... -

^I'm assuming that has to do with the timing of Memorial Day weekend. Need your new ride open for the big crowds! -

Can't wait to check it out this summer! -
Mike Smith talking crap about a questionable hit (could have gone either way...cliche to say it, but it was so "bang, bang" the ref could have called it either way. I don't think there was any intent to knee, but there was definitely knee contact) when he went Tonya Harding on Dustin Brown (and also attempted to slash Richards in front of the net right after he gave up the winning goal) is funny....

I wonder how much of an impact allowing flashpass will have on the line? -
I was eating dinner at a bar with my old boss and there happened to be 6 kings fans in the bar...we all hugged and celebrated with a shot!

They could properly train the ops to do this, have them take some tests and be 'certified to right a car' or whatever, but that will never happen because there is too much liability in this country, companies are paranoid and people are morons. Meanwhile in other countries with Zacspins.... When Log Jammer still existed, you had to push logs during downtimes. Ride ops still have to manually put boats in the storage pool at Jet Stream as well. So it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to have ride ops move cars on their own...

That is what I was getting at. Having such a large population base with access to the park (like in Tokyo) makes it necessary to raise the price of the AP's to better control when they visit. As far as 1-day ticket prices go, I wonder how many people actually pay full price and only visit one park to begin with? There's so many ways to get cheaper tickets (I know for me personally, I could go through either my workplace, costco, or AAA), let alone all the vacation packages and multi-day ticket options that lower the cost per day...

As far as annual passes go, Disneyland is essentially following the Tokyo Disney model: because there is such a large population base with access to Tokyo Disney, they HAVE to price the annual passes higher to control the crowds. You could also argue that with the opening of Carsland, the Disneyland Resort is now offering a product closer to Tokyo Disney quality. It's definitely a short term move that is sure to make them more money, but it could also hurt them in the long run. I have no doubt that for the next few years, they will be able to replace all the revenue lost from AP's not renewing/spending money they usually spend in the park...it's what happens after the new DCA rush wears off that COULD potentially cause a problem.
