  1. I agree with Larry. Those nets didn't look like they were meant for people. Sad to see Eagle's Fortress still just sitting there. It was incredible for a suspended!
  2. The NHL wants a $10 million drop in the cap, with only one "transition" year allowed at the current cap. That's going to mean big pay reductions for all future contracts, so basically the NHL's offer was nothing more than a PR stunt.
  3. ^Granted it was a Portillo's in Buena Park, but I wasn't blown away with their fries. I'd take Five Guys or Fatburger fries over Portillos.
  4. My only concern would be that I hope the CM's still have the ability to use their best judgement in making exceptions. There are plenty of unpredictable things that could cause a guest to miss their window such as trips to first aid, ride downtimes, slow service at a store or restaurant, and so on.
  5. I hope the new ride involves Elissa being molested by their park mascot.
  6. Not to be a downer, but given that Comcast is a publicly traded company, you would think that someone outside of micechat would have reported this? For example, the money for DCA 2.0 was in the form of bonds, and news of Disney issuing those bonds was reported on all the financial websites. Not saying it won't happen...I just wouldn't get excited just yet.
  7. Every ride at Knott's only runs two trains to begin with. I've seen times where they are hauling ass, and I've also seen times where they are going painfully slow.
  8. If a wooden coaster gets built there, it would definitely go down as the world's most compact wooden coaster to fit in that footprint.
  9. ^Definitely. I used to go to KBF every Friday with Dan for the Westcoaster updates, and it took us a few years before we decided to venture down the street to get the credit. Hopefully whatever replaces it will bring me back!
  10. ^Absolutely. You could still easily have the optical illusion of a close call without ever actually being in danger.
  11. The Intamin half pipe on the roof of a building in the Roppongi district of Tokyo would certainly qualify as rare, since it never actually opened and is still just sitting there!
  12. The ride system definitely has potential...Eagle's Fortress was incredible. With the advancements in technology, it would be cool to see S&S bring this concept back to life. With floorless seats and a reasonable costs for a park, it could be a real popular family coaster.
  13. The biggest ones for me right now have to be New Texas Giant and the "High 5 coaster" @ Happy Valley.
  14. ^Substitute Dodonpa and you have my longest wait as well. DOUGH-DON-PA was forever ingrained in my head.
  15. ^What's that supposed to mean? I doubt Apple is concerned Google has a self-driving car. Pretty sure they are happy dominating the cell phone/tablet market on their own while still having total control of the hardware and software (and the revenue that comes with it).
  16. ^It's all going to come down to how "hockey related revenue" is calculated. If the owners changed that formula, it's not really a fair deal. That's why the NHLPA is taking time to respond...to read all the fine print.
  17. They were clearly just fulfilling the government mandate that all parks have a Golden Horse spinning mouse.
  18. ^I don't think there is any question it is a simple matter of product differentiation. The newest iPhone is always going to get the cool new features first, and then they eventually trickle down until the typical 2-3 year support cycle for iPhone's ends.
  19. ...or they're looking for a $10 million tax write off when the ride is "donated."
  20. I have numerous times---it's a great system! I think the cell phone version of it will be huge in Asian markets.
  21. I'm partial to the sound of the LIM's firing on Mummy @ USH.
  22. What retail is going to be successful at a FEC facility? "Donating" the ride seems like a tax cheating scheme to me.
  23. Those standing capsule things seem to be all the rage now. Looks like they did a good job bringing their signature tower into the current generation.
