  1. It's not efficient to run 3 three trains on GhostRider. The reality is they would only be gaining a few extra trains an hour when stacking is factored in.
  2. I'd have to say Deja Vu. The towers were terrifying enough to offset the rough nature of the ride.
  3. ^^This series is most likely a preview of what is left in the tank for A-rod. The last two seasons have seen his stats take a nosedive. Partially due to injuries, but also because he is 37 years old with 19 years in the majors who also admitted to using PED's. I'd say his ceiling is now 20HR, .275BA, 80RBI, and 120 games played...definitely not a $20 million dollar man.
  4. ^I disagree. I would definitely do the lower lot first even if you arrive at 7pm. My suggestion: GET THERE EARLY! The early entry for the lower lot runs from about 5:15-6:00, and that will save you a TON of time. You can have both mazes and any ride you want done by 7pm when the park officially opens. Then head straight for Walking Dead. Then do La Llorona & Alice Cooper. Then see Bill & Teds. Then Terror Tram (closes @ 11:45 on Fri/Sat). Then finish with Monsters Remix. You can be done with everything by midnight on Fri/Sat. The caveat is that on Thursday and Sunday the Terror Tram closes at 9:30. So you REALLY need to get there early and do that first if you are planning on going one of those days. The early entry also works for Terror Tram, so you can do Terror Tram and then the lower lot on those days. Also, if you ware thinking about going...buy your tickets online ASAP. Chances are all the remaining nights will sell out.
  5. A-Rod won't be making any right handed pitchers nervous anytime soon. No team is taking him unless the Yankees eat the majority of the contract. He's old and an admitted PED user.
  6. ^Front of the line passes and the VIP tour are both already sold out tonight according to the website. As are online sales. Which means get there early if you don't have a ticket, since I doubt there will be too many available at the ticket booths!
  7. ^Frankenstein is closest. I believe that counts as preferred parking, and is more expensive during HHN. Early entrance usually begins around 5:45 at the front gate. You'll be taken straight to the lower lot around 6:30.
  8. This version of the Yankees are done. firesale on overpaid veterans to commence in T-minus.... Side note: that terrifies me, since I am sure the Dodgers will bite on someone the Yankees are trying to dump...
  9. You can never have enough floater airtime, which is why I enjoy the Intamin pre-fab woodies and megalites so much. They have just the right amount of airtime (in between floater and ejector). However, too much airtime is painful. Dodonpa bruised my thigh it was so intense over the tophat.
  10. ^Bettman+Fehr=disaster. No side has made a meaningful proposal yet. That 50/50 split was nothing more than a PR stunt, since it asked the players to deduct from their share of the revenue as the solution for honoring their current contracts that would exceed the new cap.
  11. This whole thing seems extremely shady. Nothing adds up. The fair board is obviously not acting in the best interests of the state, but what really worries me is Ed Hart's insistence on getting the park re-opened. He is obviously not a sane businessman if he keeps trying to do business with the incompetent fair board.
  12. ^Movie rights are completely different than theme park rights. Universal has the right to use the comic book version of Spiderman and the related characters. Has absolutely nothing to do with the movie license and movie versions of Spiderman.
  13. ^^I disagree. The Big East is so weak, one loss for any of those teams is going to drop them WAY down in the polls. I don't think you could take them over a 1-loss SEC or PAC-12 team, whose one loss will most likely end up being to another legitimate top-10 team. Or even Notre Dame for that matter, who if they finish with 1 loss (to USC!), will still have an impressive resume themselves.
  14. ^^Each KHL team is allowed to pay one NHL player whatever they want, so long as that person is of Russian decent and plays on the Russian national team. The KHL salary cap is around $38-40 million, so NHL 3rd and 4th liners can still make a decent living if they can live with the less luxurious lifestyle of KHL vs. NHL.
  15. ^I think those are too big budget for the park. I suspect a portable ride of some sort (possibly a new mouse).
  16. They just need give it up and sell all the rides and infrastructure already...only way the fairboard is going to see a dime from the park.
  17. I'm talking about when the Contract with Marvel ends. I doubt Disney would let Universal to keep licence of a 3 Billion+ Dollar franchise without Universal having to pay through the nose. From what has been reported, the contract sounds like it is perpetual so long as Universal keeps paying and meets the terms of the agreement. Considering they just spent all that money upgrading Spiderman, I don't think Universal has any plans of letting it lapse...
  18. There were also trying to not upset the most vocal backwards A$$ people who don't have many to spend on such "privileges". Thankfully new management bite the bullet. You are always going to have people comlain but you might as well increase revenue while they complain. I really just think it is because they were so "old school," they didn't feel the company needed to change anything.
  19. My slightly bias self wants USC vs Alabama. Even if one of the Big East teams goes undefeated, that conference is so weak I can definitely see two 1-loss teams from better conferences getting the nod.
  20. Any reports from this version of HHN?
  21. ^It definitely had that "holy crap, this feels unsafe" vibe going for it, being such an old wild mouse at a small park. Certianly upped the thrill factor.
  22. ^Right, because people who go to WDW won't appreciate limited time seasonal offerings that only enhance their visit even more.
  23. It's amazing what a forward thinking management team can do for the company. I had been saying for years that the "good old boys" club at Cedar Fair was leaving millions on the table by stubbornly refusing to accept industry norms such as preferred parking, fastlane, and VIP tours.
  24. The grass area is not really as large as it looks on google maps. Whatever is going in there is still going to have to be very compact.
  25. ^Exactly. DLR has a much larger annual passholder pass, most of which who feel entitled to do whatever they want. I'm glad they are getting strict with this. Hopefully the guest assistance cards are next on their list! ^^Realistically, it's not feasible to just limit it to ride breakdowns. What if a guest allows themselves plenty of time to eat at Blue Bayou and the service is awful and takes forever? Or a small child, well, acts like a small child and something comes up. I doubt any CM is going to want to be that guy who ruins a trip based on unforeseen circumstances. Especially considering that if a guest goes to City Hall to complain, they are probably going to end up with the readmit pass anyways. Of course people will still try to game the system, but the majority of people will still accept it for what it is.
