  1. - Every person trying to defend a new B&M 2001-2013 Exactly. It's not about judging a ride by an animated POV. It's about knowing what kind of rides B&M has built for the last 10+ years. Why would they change this now when a middle-of-the-road B&M will still be in the top 2 rides for this park? I always laugh when poeple try to down-grade a B&M for not being as forceful. The days of Nemesis and BTR were over 10 years ago people.... It's not so much that older B&M's were more forceful, it's more so that other companies have pushed the limits while B&M has backed off the intensity. It's what sells for them, so I don't fault them by any means...but that's the reality.
  2. No wings at the taste of Buffalo?
  3. If true, wonder what the excuse will be this time? Can't say they didn't read the manual this time...
  4. ^^He cared about it so much he had a law practice in Florida until tragedy brought him back to the park? Waiting until nearly the last day to submit his lower offer allegedly against the purchase agreement reeks of a "I'm going to try to use my lawyer smarts to pull a fast one on them" move. Family feuds rarely end well for the family members or the business: http://www.boston.com/business/gallery/familyfeuds?pg=11 And that's just a slideshow of Boston area businesses. I think a more notable one would be how bad the 49er's were until recently while that family feud played out and subsequently hurt the franchise...
  5. I just assumed Arrow, what/who is AMEC? http://www.empireds.com/ Check out the picture on their site...they built the new monorails too. They also partnered with Kuka on the Robocoaster concept.
  6. Remember when Mantis was named Banshee and people complained to get it renamed to Mantis?
  7. Just based on the articles, it really seems like Dan Koch is looking to cash in on the park.
  8. The plans are most definitely real...the question is whether or not the plans changed and those are an older proposal/design? That happens all the time in this industry.
  9. ^Sounds about right for him. Like all the others in denial, he's only going to end up looking even worse than if he just said "I made a mistake. Sorry."
  10. ^I agree. As cheesy as they are, they're still fun to attend with friends. Except the Pirates one in Buena Park. That one just sucked.
  11. I suspect releasing more details on phase 2 will be part of this weekend event.
  12. ^Exactly. It's not about being able to afford it---it's making sure they get a return on their investment. RCDB lists the costs of Spider @ Lagoon at $3,000,000, while Typhoon @ Bobbejaanland (I believe that is the only fixed foundation one at a park?) was listed at $6,700,000. That's a lot more tickets to sell!
  13. Well, it is Austin. They have to do things differently there! I'm assuming they meant at least 3,000 guests per day.
  14. Technically two, but it's essentially one because the track switch is its own block and can (obviously) only be turned one way at a time.
  15. I'm sure either of those could have fit, but may not have fit in their budget plans...
  16. ^B&M started their careers at Giovanola, who were a frequent collaborator with Intamin (Giovanola fabricated the rides; Intamin sold them and took care of the rest).
  17. This project is quite the undertaking. Can't wait to see the finished product!
  18. I disagree. My personal opinion is that if they built a solid transportation network (shuttles from major beach resorts) and opened up up as a pay per ride/night time hang out spot, with the bars and restaurant infrastructure to go along with the rides...it could have worked.
  19. Fixed infinity! Meh...I'm not sold on 61 year old fake boobs. They should have gone with Weird Al if they wanted a throwback to the old days!
  20. I'm at the point where I don't even care. The baseball community is so hypocritical about the whole thing...Wonder why Bud Selig wasn't serious about PED's during the home run chase? Or Barry Bonds pursuit of the record? Because it sold. Now being strict sells, so Selig is pretending like he cares... Even worse is that outside of being labeled cheaters...there's no real repercussions for the players! Ryan Bruan is going to make another $100 million when he comes back, A-rod is going to continue to get his huge paycheck, Melky Cabrerra got a new deal with the Jays after his ban, Bartolo Colon revived his career...
