If Steampunk is dumb, does that make KBF's new dark ride stupid? I kind of like SFMM is doing something different...the Coney Island theme would have been the easy way out. You can even argue that Steampunk fits the ride, since it's a hybrid of new and old itself...

Improved WiFi that you can barely use apparently...Unless you are staying alone. If I wasn't loyal to MGM properties (hooray for comps), I'd probably stay there one night out of morbid curiosity. I wasn't a fan of the casino (walked through it) because it just felt like more of that forced bland/modern boringness that's everywhere.

Steampunk is hardly generic.

That would be the typical amusement park business model...but you left out one key variable that always seems to hamper the experience at SFMM: COST. SFMM has a history of being cheap, so it is also very likely that they would keep it closed in the morning and move those employees to other rides in order to save labor costs. Hence the reason why someone posted earlier that they usually don't bother to open it if they can't get it open in the morning.

But the cruise enthusiasts are even worse than the theme park ones and there are more of them!!! I don't know if we're up for that!!! If you can deal with us...I'm terrified to know it can get worse!

Certainly more than I was expecting. Should be fun.

Water parks throughout the south are probably lining up to purchase the whole package...

One of the 5,000,000 marathons they do took place this morning.

One thing to keep in mind is that the master plans of parks are constantly changing...being contracted for projects as far out as 2020 does not mean that those projects will all come to fruition.

Also I'm hearing the sky tower repairs of the elevator may be too high a cost to govern reopening it any time soon. ...And that's why SFMM will always be SFMM. The Sky Tower is basically their icon. And there's a possibility they will again just let it rot away. Really hope that rumor isn't true.

USH has some in the bottom level of their parking garage.

On that note, I hope they have a throwback to the professor in the new ride! I'd love to see him say "Oh no, you're going back in time" somewhere as an Easter egg.

I love that Cowabunga Bay has so many unique slides! These new ones look awesome...really have to make sure I visit next year!

The only things from KBF's past I wish would return are the parachutes (they could fit the boardwalk theme considering Coney Island was the home of the first one) and the mural that used to be painted on the tunnel under Grand Ave. And more Haunt mazes, but I've already discussed that enough...

There is a single rider option at DM, it is just not open all the time. It will be open when it's busy.

As a side note, it makes you wonder how bad American Dad's ratings are for it to have been dropped by fox and picked up by TBS and further whored out for the weekend event!

There's no battle. Knott's is aiming to be a quality family option that is much cheaper than Disney and Universal.
