  1. Mindbender @ West Edmonton Mall. The backwards facing cars is the most intense coaster I've never been on.
  2. ^Was there a point to that? This thread is NOT about any sort of Android vs. Apple debate.
  3. I think the daytime stuff will be a huge hit. The night time party (which really catered to the AP's and was probably meant to either force them to show up later or spend more time at the resort waiting for the party to start) might not go over as well because of people expecting an actual party atmosphere.
  4. That would definitely be some quite forceful airtime.
  5. Nice to see them moving so quick. Adventure City is a fun little park.
  6. ^Universal has had success turing bad movies into good attractions/events: Transformers, WaterWorld, Grinchmas, Mummy....
  7. It's a lot more common in Asia and Europe. It just wouldn't work in the U.S. We're stupid, lazy, and cheap.
  8. It doesn't work that way. It couldn't have even re-opened at all without proper documentation. There HAS to be technical drawings for it or else it could have never operated to begin with.
  9. ^There's already a bowl game at Yankee Stadium and Ford Field...really the biggest hole is the northwest. But I imagine that if they went to a regional playoff system, you would see something like what is already in place with the basketball tournament and sites/bowls would bid to host the first round game and championship game (the semi finals are set on a rotation amongst the 6 biggest bowls).
  10. Don't get me wrong, I certainly wouldn't complain if it did get an overhaul...I also just wouldn't complain if it was torn out for a terrain Intamin mega-lite either!
  11. Aside from the fact the picture was taken at SFMM's sitdown restaurant where it would be incredibly tacky to use disposable cups (which is why I'm surprised SFMM doesn't do it... ), I can't think of any park in the U.S. that does what you suggest.
  12. I think I've said this already...but why is everyone so obsessed with Revolution? Just my opinion, but I don't think a restored Revolution would crack any top-10 lists (except for those people blinded by nostalgia). Of course the ride would be better by default, but I'm guessing it would only take to slightly above average (read: make it at least rideable again).
  13. Props to SFMM for using a local craft brew (wolf creek). I can forgive them for having fake craft brew (shock top) because of that!
  14. It's going to be another wild offseason on the coaching carousel... Three major programs already looking for head coaches in Nebraska, Michigan, and Florida. That's going to cause another domino effect as those schools poach from elsewhere.
  15. Freeze the night? Sounds like the least exciting party yet. Then again, while I enjoyed frozen, I am not one who went crazy for it. Hope the entertainment is as unique as the previous parties.
  16. I'd be surprised if they did Frozen. The Hollywood Backlot events all cater to the "party" crowd. They exist to sell food and alcohol.
  17. ^Are there any publicly traded ride suppliers? It's such a unique industry that I really can't imagine it being beneficial for any company to be listed unless they have aspirations of entering a new business (like a defense contract or something major).
  18. I would say that engineering can make anything possible...whether that be a custom ZacSpin or a taller roof. The question is whether or not either of those options are financially viable.
  19. That was my thought as well. That's a lot of hotels to be planning for a resort that doesn't even seem like is at capacity right now.
  20. That's the exact reason I steered my friends towards Princess for a birthday "booze cruise" (3-day to Ensenada). I couldn't in good faith make them go on an old Carnival ship.
  21. ^I can see that. Working at Disney isn't the magical job it used to be.
  22. ^I think as long as you kept the first round game within the region, fans would still travel to at least 1 of the 3 games. The major bowl games are already tailored to the sponsors and big boosters as it is. The regular fan is on the bottom of the totem pole for schools ticket allotments AND face values creep higher and higher every year (The last Rose Bowl I went to the face value had creeped up to $145).
  23. ^I'd like to know what that one encounter was before passing judgement. I've only had two bad encounters in 20 years of going to Disneyland, so I'd like to think that bad experiences are the outlier and not the norm.
  24. HKDL was very underrated IMO. I really can't wait to get back now that they have added so much! Also, I believe that the Venatian in Macau has the worlds largest casino floor. I wish I realized the exchange rate when I sat down at the cheapest blackjack table we could find...
