  1. I just don't see why everyone is so infatuated with an effect that never even made it to opening day because it didn't work. Now I am sure the new version of it will be more projection mapped faces, which isn't even that exciting.
  2. I don't get the infatuation with the hatbox ghost?
  3. Projection mapping is becoming so common, I kind of hoped Disney would do something unique. It's still cool, but it's not jaw dropping awesome anymore. The cool thing about the 50th fireworks was that the focus wasn't all over the place. It told a story and the focus was still the castle/matterhorn and the sky. I hope the use of projection mapping all over the place doesn't end up seeming like it was produced by someone with ADD and there's TOO much going on. I know there are rumors of ride plussing to come as well, but to be totally honest, this part of the announcement is underwhelming. The park already needed a new fireworks show and their other parade was coming up on 4 years old. Disneyland is probably now the most neglected park when it comes to ride additions and desperately needs more things to get people OFF of the crowded walkways (since the park was clearly not designed for the crowds it now gets).
  4. Ush did a Super Bowl commercial for transformers too.
  5. One week until signing day! Side note, I know the NCAA gets crap (rightfully so) for exploiting their athletes, but does anyone realize the athletes are exploited way before that? People are making millions of dollars off watching high school kids compete at camps (paid for by sponsors like adidas, nike, under armour, etc. that I'm sure only do it out of the goodness of their hearts and NOT to try and gain an edge on endorsement deals if they make it big) and stalking their every move on the recruiting trail... That doesn't even account for the 7-7 leagues cashing in on them or "schools" like the IMG academy that are run by an agency....
  6. ^Aside from that, if they were going to replace Toontown with what would surely be a costly Star Wars land (I think it is safe to assume that project would easily cross the $100 million+ budget line), a couple million dollars to keep the costumes of Toontown up to current park standards for a few years until ready to close the land is a very small investment for a company as large as Disney. Again, I honestly have no idea what is or is not coming to Disneyland. Just saying that updating uniforms is hardly a reason to assume nothing will become of Toontown.
  7. I honestly have no idea whether or not Toontown will be replaced or not, but I will say that new costumes is hardly an indicator of Toontown having a future. That's a relatively small cost to absorb.
  8. Population is only one part of the equation. Each parks business demographics are completely different, despite the population of their area.
  9. I can only imagine it will be 100x worse for Wrestlemania.
  10. The rendering of the sea creature looks rough...but I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt for now in assuming Knott's just told the company "send us something for a promo...we don't care if it isn't finished" like they do for movie trailers.
  11. Hershey Estates was the name of the company when they bought the ride.
  12. Again, without the context of knowing what questions they ask and how they rate it, it's hard for us to know what "highest scores" means.
  13. Without context, it's impossible to read too far into the record breaking guest service. Cool that they gave employees a shirt to commemorate it (I hope a party or something came with it too), but odd they would make it the uniform.
  14. Guess I'm heading back to Vegas on the 9th!
  15. ^Upcharge. Though their press release says it will be "cheaper than land" and feature a mix of first run movies as well as older movies (maybe those will be free). Also noticed that it will start in Europe and head to NYC...seems like they are late to that party.
  16. Looks like I may have to find a cheap flight to SLC this summer. Ride looks impressive.
  17. ^I agree. It's a weird mix of good ideas (IMAX, cabana cabins, brewery) and a bunch of copying RCCL and NCL to try and be more upscale. It also seems to be like the ship was made for the U.S. market, but sailing out of Europe?
  18. Spring break for most schools is the last week of March/early April this year anyways....
  19. I would say the opposite. Sunday will be busier because people are off Monday, so they can take their "daycations" and not have to worry about work/school the next day.
  20. Cool seeing this place continue to grow.
  21. Tom Brady having to answer countless question about his deflated balls is probably the best thing to happen to the NFL in a long time. So hilarious.
  22. Perhaps they never owned the ride and it was just there before the person who owns it takes it on the road? The story seems fishy...
  23. If I won, would they let me upgrade to a real cruise line for a fee?
  24. It was 2002. I'm OK with Sark as a play caller. Just needs to keep developing and learn to be more aggressive, which will hopefully happen with the ability to sign full recruiting classes to get the added depth back.
