  1. Riviera will close on May 4th at noon.
  2. My guess would be they discovered that there could be issues with the other trees (maybe they were dying?), so the best option was to remove all the old ones and start fresh.
  3. ^It's right up there for me too. It was so different but still had decent FX so you couldn't help but think it was cool.
  4. To be fair, I've never actually seen an effect like that in all the theme parks I've visited nor any of the shopping malls I've visited, so just because there might be a similar effect that you've seen at one place doesn't mean that tens of thousands of people who see it every day in Avatar won't be experiencing something like it for the first time in their lives. Oh, I totally agree. This implentation is sure to blow away the simple ones I've seen at malls (basically just a projector hung from the ceiling with a motion sensor that simulates splashing water when people walked over it) and will surely impress.
  5. I think the most shocking thing is Planet Hollywood managed to stay in business so long. Glad to see they are cleaning it up to better match the look of the new DtD.
  6. Ninja was always a mediocre ride that was a good family friendly "big" ride for kids. Now it's just easier to tell that's the case without the trees.
  7. It looks like it could be a standalone haunt maze!
  8. It looks like that Maui Sands place blew their budget on the Water Park.
  9. I've always thought she tried too hard to be a funnier version of Oprah.
  10. I love that RCCL just keeps tweaking and improving and growing their fleet!
  11. While it will probably make the ride less interesting (to be honest, after riding Eagles Fortress, all suspended coasters are boring!), it at least creates a nicer visual for the ride.
  12. ^It was especially cool when I first saw it at my local mall 10 years ago.
  13. I don't see anything in the fine print saying you need to spend $200 with the shopping pass.
  14. The more I look at the renders, the more I totally agree with Elissa. I would like to have seen the other slide be blue as well to keep the clean look.
  15. Looks great! I wish Disneyland would get something like this for the 60th celebration! Glad to see WDW improving guest flow!
  16. I'd recommend it if you are a fan of Haunts. The panels were cool and all of the local haunts have booths set up with discount coupons for their events. Some haunts even have one room previews built!
  17. It's a real shame. Derrick Rose's MVP season was something special. Hometown kid leading his team into the playoffs. I hope he can stay healthy and have 1 or 2 more productive seasons, whether they are as a starter or as a 6th man like Grant Hill.
  18. ^That's OK...all the other websites are complaining about Annual Pass prices! ^^I think the host will just further emphasize what I don't like about the show, so of course I am knocking it. At least that's how I read the press release. However, if the new version of the show includes more pyro, lazers, and fire and less repetitive dancing fountains with the clips...then it doesn't matter who is hosting. I'm all for a night time spectacular actually being spectacular!
  19. ^You have the right idea! Julie Andrews is an official Disney Legend. It made sense for her to narrate an anniversary celebration, especially considering she had been involved with past anniversary celebrations. As a matter of fact, the press release didn't even mention her. It said Jiminy Cricket was the host!
  20. Because you can watch clip shows with famous hosts on TV. The difference between those shows is they don't advertise who the narrator is and their main focus is the content. NPH is being used in the marketing. If he was just a voice during the show and never mentioned by name, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now as it would really have no impact on the show.
  21. ^19 times according to Back to the Future!
  22. Las Vegas Hilton is now Westgate. Monte Carlo opened in 1996
  23. I'm much more excited for new fireworks! Firework shows are what I think of when I think of night time spectaculars at Disney parks.
  24. I will admit I've never liked the show. Adding a famous "host" just makes me feel even more like it's nothing more than a glorified clip show. I don't see it as an improvement, but rather just a marketing gimmick.
  25. I like how it is tastefully done and not dominating the pool deck!
