  1. ^^Jurassic World is a completely rebuilt version of Jurassic Park. Wouldn't totally fit story wise without an overhaul of the whole area.
  2. That's the opposite experience I've had with burgers at the boardwalk and former Taste Pilots Grill. I enjoyed them. The burger that matches that description to me is the ones at Tomorrowland Terrace. Those were "meh" to me.
  3. I'd rather have my sleep!
  4. ^^I don't think there are any hotels that don't charge you a parking fee around Disney.
  5. That's the standard for developers. It wouldn't make any sense to invest heavily on drawings/design/architecture without any approvals. You do the bare minimum to sell the concept and only invest on actual planning and design once you have the money and approvals.
  6. That's probably because it's just concept art from the company that owns both of those properties...They use the same piece of art for the Meadowlands project. Reading up on the Meadowlands project, that one is heavily financed with government bonds..so it's a great deal for them. I imagine they will be pushing Miami for the same concessions.
  7. That's an awfully large building to work with...hopefully it's for an E-ticket.
  8. I bet Elissa enjoyed the butterfly farm too!
  9. ^You are wrong. There was only one of that style (portable Giovanola invert) built and it was EuroStar.
  10. ^Yup. Starts the last weekend of March and runs through mid April.
  11. I think what's weird about the timing of the closure is they are closing right before what surely would have been a huge two weekends for them with Rock in Rio going on.
  12. Does the 2005 Space Mountain count as a true E-Ticket? I don't consider that to be a new E-ticket, so I didn't count it. They rebuilt the same ride and just modernized the themeing/FX.
  13. Give them some credit...at least they bothered to update the map.
  14. Dang...it's been 20 years since Disneyland got a true E-ticket attraction?!? It's probably also been 20 years since everything has worked at Indy too!
  15. This has always been on my to-do list for Orlando...looks like tons of fun!
  16. This seems more likely to me. While it would be easy to say that this is an overreaction at the behest of the lawyers, the fact that they put in new trees hints that they care at least a little bit, but there were likely issues that required the removal of the old ones. If the lawyers had said “You know, it would really reduce our potential liability here to just clear cut the hillside and leave it that way.” I doubt that MM would have given much push back and you wouldn’t see new trees planted. Just my 2 cents. Well if that's the case they should cut down all the trees surrounding rides at Magic Mountain including Revolution and YOLOcoaster and Superman. Overreaction for sure. One tree falls after 45 years of the park being in operation, and all of a sudden it's like every tree around the ride is going to topple over. Dumb. Perhaps it is because during their investigation, they found something wrong with the other trees that would leave them susceptible to falling as well? It could very well be an overreaction, but the reality is none of us really know. At least the park got the second train back (something I honestly didn't expect) and is replanting trees.
  17. ^And so is the still vacant Pavilion lot. It amazes me that park was gone before I even got a chance to visit, yet somehow HRP swindled investors for $400 million!
  18. ^I'm really torn on that subject. On one hand, I think it's important to preserve history. Especially in Southern California, where developers have no shame in replacing historic buildings with soul-less condos. On the other hand, Walt himself said Disneyland is always being tinkered with, so I wouldn't totally mind a signature attraction for the next generation replacing it at some point.
  19. ^In other words, it fit right in with the rest of the old DtD!
  20. ^The legal fireworks on the beach were pretty cool too!
  21. Creeping towards $4.00 in LA again.
  22. ^The whole ride looks amazing!
  23. Sounds like it would be ripe for purchasing by a larger operator who could finish the renovations.
  24. That's pretty high end for bumper cars. Sandblasters at SFMM is just a deadmans pedal and a key.
