Creepy, Haunted Theme Parks
Jew replied to screaminkid2005's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Stage 28 at USH was rumored to be the home of the ghost of Lon Cheney. Now that its been bulldozed, I wonder if he'll show up in the park? -

Again, I understand you are very bias since you work for the park...but playing Devil's Advocate again... Perhaps the reason that everything that has been released is top notch because they want to put their best foot forward in promoting the ride? Kind of like a movie trailer...show the best.... People have every right to be skeptical of Six Flags until proven otherwise. This may very be a new era, but until it opens... You never saw any comments about Universal because they have a proven track record...including success with the very ride system Transformers is based on. I should also add that I have no doubt things will look good at first. But again, given Six Flags record and knowing quite well the maintenance involved in this ride system...I really question whether Six Flags will make the investment to ensure they have all the proper parts in stock, manpower available, etc. to keep the ride in top form. It's not cheap. -

To be fair, things on paper and things as built change all the time. Six Flags going to trusted vendors in Oceaneering & Sally is a positive sign, but we have yet to see if Six Flags can deliver on the "planned" quality. Another huge question mark will be if Six Flags can handle the maintenance on the ride. Those vehicles are sure to be expensive to maintain. Not to mention the projectors, media servers, etc.that go with the ride. Sally already has numerous trackless dark rides (Challenge of Tutankhamen is REALLY good) with a ride system from ETF that seemed to have the same footprint as a traditional dark ride from what I remember. -

Was hoping for more new ride announcements. Nothing major from any of the big manufacturers. KMG announced a larger inversion and smaller StarFlyer. They also are working on a new top spin style ride, but no word of that from IAAPA. -
Avalanche's LOOPING Vertical Drop Water Slide!

That would be my biggest concern too. But I am sure they thought of that...or so we hope! -
Coming down the home stretch now...If the playoffs started today, there would be a re-match of Alabama/MSU. Kind of lame! P.S.: BEAT THE BRUINS!!!

^Mine too! I'm overdue for a visit...your pictures are tempting me to visit for HHN. Now to win the lottery...

Hmm...maybe next year instead of trying to do HHN Florida and HHN Hollywood the same day I should up the ante and go for Japan! Great TR.

The important thing is the station is elevated, so the floorless mechanisms could fit underneath. I have no doubt they could do the conversion if they wanted to. -
IAAPA 2014 Live Coverage!

I do beleive it's for this: http://www.chancerides.com/rides/freestyle.html That's exactly what it is for. An updated Wipeout. Chance is also selling their full catalog again (they sold a Zipper at IAAPA), so an updated Chaos might happen... So they also have an updated Zipper too? Same ride, just minor technical improvements. -
I was told by a CM who actually operates all marathons on both coasts, that there is only 4 a year for each resort. I said I didn't believe it... LOL. But there's apparently only 4 per year at each resort. It's because all the events take up the whole weekend and have multiple races. So I guess it's technically true to say there are only 4 events per resort.

The chance Freestyle is essentially a modern wipeout. That's what those seats are from. -

I hope there is some cool "death machines" (as I jokingly like to refer flat rides as) announced at IAAPA this year!
