  1. ^Yeah, I never quite got the appeal myself. But kudos to Disney for finding a way to get notoriously cheap AP's to spend money AND stay out of other areas of the park
  2. Bay Area weather is very tempremental in the Winter. It was just a few weeks ago they got hit by a good rain storm.
  3. ^Well, it is still a Michael Bay movie. So you can expect that to be the only good part!
  4. I believe it's VIP only. Definitely a cool perk of the tour!
  5. Hard Rock Park 2.0 I'm sure someone saw how the owners of HRP kept re-financing and defaulting and figured they wanted to get in on the theme park scam too!
  6. Likewise. I still need the Goldstriker credit, so it's a perfect opportunity to head up!
  7. *IF* they do anything (which I don't think they will anytime soon), I would imagine it would be something smaller scale. Either an up-charge place (like Discovery Cove) or something like a new mini golf course/their version of a Family Fun Center to compliment the resorts already insane amount of entertainment options.
  8. ScareLA is moving to a bigger location this year! With public transportation and tons of awesome restaurants and bars close by in Old Town Pasadena! The Haunted Mansion presentation was really cool last year...can't wait to see what they have in store this year!
  9. To me it just seems like the Frozen thing was forced upon the park to fit the Frozen stuff going on everywhere else in the area. They failed to account for the fact that DLR has so many AP's who just want a place to hang out after they work. These parties were basically designed to get those AP people to actually spend money in the park.
  10. This whole project is absurdly over the top. Which I love.
  11. I can't help but picture the trial being a bunch of people talking like Peter Griffin's Italian.
  12. It's WDI. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they did spend so much money trying to reinvent the wheel.
  13. It's hard to fault someone who knows absolutely nothing about ride systems and park SOP's (guests) for being upset they are stuck sitting there with operator seemingly doing nothing. We get it. Most guests do too. But it's totally understandable why some guests go into panic mode.
  14. The $100 million figure might be possible if they had to spend a ton of money on research and development in trying to create the ride system.
  15. Sounds eerily similar to the failed Gotcha Glacier project that was supposed to be built in Anaheim. http://snowboarding.transworld.net/news/gotcha-glacier-to-be-completed-in-2002/
  16. The speedway always seemed out of place, although I have to admit I always wanted to do the Richard Petty Experience there. Would have been fun to have seen the Indy Car race when they had it there too. But I'm sure the resort needed the parking spaces (garage?) much more!
  17. Crazy how it was only 16 years given the amount of lives lost and damage caused!
  18. Which doesn't work 1/2 the time! It's pretty reliable. Only high winds keep it out of the show.
  19. With how close Tom Kraft and Roger Goddell are, it's not the least bit surprising to see Deflategate quietly swept under the rug. The "independent" investigator is the same one that "cleared" the NFL of knowing about how severe his actions were. I don't really think it's a big deal at the end of the day, but I think it's hilarious how blatant the NFL is in trying to sweep it under the rug.
  20. I'm glad I was able to make it out to see it in person. Was cool to feel the force of so much dynamite (it shook the parking garage we were watching from that was probably close to a 1/2 mile away). Was also interesting to see them use fans on trucks to push the debris could away from that garage.
  21. Do the CA versions have the delicious Italian Beef? Same menu. I haven't tried the Chicago one, but I was definitely impressed by this one.
  22. I doubt the majority of the guests seeing the show now even realize it was based on a terrible movie. They just care about the fire and explosions!
  23. ^At the end of the day, that statement is true. NFL teams set out to win the Super Bowl. Anything less might produce some extra bragging rights, revenue for the team, and an extra paycheck for the players...but the end result was still the same as the Bucs: not holding the Lombardi trophy.
  24. ^It's an accomplishment sure, but at the end of the day all that matters is the Super Bowl. For example, Jim Kelly is going to be remembered as losing 4 straight Super Bowls, not dominating his conference for 4 straight years. On the flip side, Joe Montana is 4-0 and had a 11/0 TD to interception ratio in his Super Bowl appearances. He played lights out on the biggest stage. That to me is why I will consider him the greatest. As far as statistics are concerned...my point was more about the rules themselves. They heavily favor the offense. Back then QB's and receivers genuinely had to fear being obliterated when they got sacked or caught a pass over the middle. Not so much anymore. Ultimately, I think it's most fair to say Joe Montana is the greatest of his era and Tom Brady is the greatest of his. We could go back and forth forever, but that's the one thing no one can really dispute.
