  1. Started doing insanity today, ow. Working this routine in while I’m making my final push on the CPA exam. Put up a sticky note on my desktop at work that says “Twisted Timbers, Volcano, Dominator, Griffon, Alpengeist and InvadR” representing the six coasters in VA that I can’t ride because I’m currently too big, I think another 20 pounds of fat gone will get me on those or at least most of them.
  2. Fury is worth at least an 8 hour drive. I was blown away by that coaster. The drop on the turnaround is just amazing air. I'm getting tempted by all this now more than ever since I found out I can fit B&M Hypers on Sunday with Apollo's Chariot. Granted I don't want to go all the way down to Carowinds until I can ride Alpengeist because going to Carowinds and being unable to ride Afterburn would kill me. ANYWAY Twisted Cyclone is looking great!
  3. ^That honestly is something surprising to me as well. Maybe they weren't selling much last year? You would think with Intimidator 305 being the headlining coaster at KD that they would have kept their gift shop for it.
  4. My comfort collar on Tempesto came loose Sunday and I told my co-workers about it and they were all absolutely horrified. I explained to them that comfort collars actually weren't necessary and one of them said they'd never ride Tempesto because the restraint system was "malfunctioning"
  5. ^My guess is a manager or supervisor saw that and lectured them to not let people do that shortly before that. At least KDs lockers aren't anything like Busch Gardens locker policy which I found out yesterday is fairly intense compared to KD. But I do like the $10 transferable locker option as I will certainly be using that everytime I go to BGW.
  6. I can't shake this gut feeling of B&M Dive Machine. With such a prominent position in the center of the skyline right there? I have nothing to base this on other than my subjective opinion of a DM looking fantastic right in that spot.
  7. From what I had heard from a park employee (take that with a grain of salt of course) Dominator was having issues with its moving floors on Friday not wind.
  8. I have never actually seen any of the coasters closed due to high winds at Kings Dominion. Windseeker will shut down instantly once it has found the wind it seeks.
  9. Luckily I've ridden Griffon and Alpengeist in years past so they would not have been new to me. InvadR though was new and the denial truly a bummer. At least I got some new credit hotness out of Tempesto though (shockingly I literally thought there was a 0% chance I could ride that) The seat was huge and comfortable but the sensor for the lap bar just wasn't forgiving. Griffons test seat was two red belts which I believe indicates the larger seats.
  10. I guess it's okay, but I always thought this was a better crowd calendar for the dry park at SFA since it's a little more up to date. Link
  11. I got into Griffons test seat which is the two-strapped seat and the belts where less than an inch from the buckles. I probably could of gotten a ride op to really push down on it and get it buckled but I figured I'd save myself the embarrassment of a potential WOS.
  12. Just got in from a wonderful day at BGW. Rode Nessie, Verbolten 3 times, Tempesto 3 times, and Apollo’s Chariot 6 times. Got denied at the test seats for Alpengeist, Griffon, and shockingly InvadR I was legitimately surprised by that one. I thought I was a lot more likely for that than Tempesto. Ah well such a great park with fantastic operations. The San Marco marketplace is really nice I do wish I hit up the pretzel shop though.
  13. ^ You both posted within a minute of each other. I find it intriguing that SEAS wants to bring a third gate to Williamsburg.
  14. Went to KD today. Rode Racer 75, Grizzly, Backlot, Avalanche, Anaconda, FOF, and Intimidator 305. Dominator was down I checked it’s test seat and honestly if it got a good shove at the bottom it could probably barely buckle in a regular seat. Definitely a fun day especially the 10 night ride I305 marathon.
  15. So no go for TT however I enjoyed myself plenty. Rode Racer 75, Grizzly, Backlot, Avalanche, Anaconda, Flight of Fear, and then I capped off the night with a 10 ride Intimidator 305 marathon all night rides. It was glorious. Then some Panda Express on the way out. Dominator unfortunately was closed but I checked the test seat and I think I’d be fine in the larger seats and regular seats maybe if somebody pushed down on it. Really wish I rode Apple Zapple. I think I may head to Busch Gardens Sunday since I haven’t been in 6 years and I just set up a membership. Based off how the above coasters went I like my chances for most of their coasters.
  16. No lie I am VERY excited to have a Takabisha clone in the US. I suppose I will wait to do my NYC return trip till that beauty opens.
  17. I'm gonna swing by tomorrow night to take another crack at TT while wearing gym clothes. Gonna try to suck in my waist as much as I can when they bring that god forsaken lap bar down hoping it can hit my thighs.
  18. ^ I would assume not very crowded. It's a work day in March I know spring break is about to begin but I just don't see it being very busy tomorrow. Ride Volcano first and you'l be fine.
  19. How is Busch Gardens on Easter Sunday usually? I am playing with the idea of heading down there Sunday afternoon since I haven't been since 2012 which is insane to me.
  20. Strangely I have lost 7 pounds in the last week despite being out of the gym for 6 days and I am at my lowest weight in years. 313 I can't wait to get down to the 300 range so it's less than 10 pounds till I say goodbye to that mean ugly "3"
  21. ^I do really enjoy that picture. It can be in front of me at all times if it wants.
