  1. It's been a while since I've been but I don't remember seeing a lot of people being denied rides on the Voyage and B&M's have always been pretty forgiving. As far as removing your shirt - I wouldn't sweat it. You can leave it on of course, but once you are there and see all of the other people who are larger you might very well stop being concerned about it! I'm super happy for you that you are getting to go and I hope you have an AMAZING Time!
  2. Great report! I truly loved Adventureland during my visit there. So full of Charm! I'll agree on Dragon though, ugh - that pre-lift let you know what was about to happen to you
  3. ^ Back row Cyclone rides are a rite of passage for our people
  4. This is the first I remember hearing about the new Vekoma model. When you say it is like a Mega-Lite with inversions you mean it has airtime as well as loops? Thanks for posting! David
  5. Love this report. I grew up with SFoG (and worked there in the 80's,) and it is my home park again. I could do MUCH worse with a home park and Mindbender is still one of my favorite rides anywhere. Haven't ridden Rampage since 2009 and it sounds like it is still running the same. It was very aggressive, but awesome. David
  6. ^ I was thinking the same thing when I read that St. Louis is re-opening theirs. Plenty of spare parts available now Went yesterday with my little guy. I didn't realize that he was allowed to drive the Antique Cars (Hanson Cars.) After the log flume I think this is is favorite ride and I "got" do do it 5 times in a row. This is after three times on the kiddie coaster, twice on the log flume and a ride on the Sky Buckets. David
  7. Other than some of the hardware and boats removed earlier in the season it's been a Ghost Town down there.
  8. Thanks for the pictures - I love seeing a new ride being built David
  9. This was my first time experiencing Moose on the Loose. I thought the ride was perfect outside of my moose having laryngitis. It was cute and the audio I overheard from other vehicles put a smile on my face. I made it back from my 3 year old daughter's first trip to the park (about a month ago) and for weeks she would pretend that she was riding Moose on the Loose when she sat on the recliner. I'm just working on raising children who enjoy amusement parks so that I have a better excuse to go to them myself I can totally relate to this. I am the guardian for my 3 year old great nephew and take him to SFoG fairly often. We don't have anything like Moose on the Loose, but He loves the Monster Mansion, the kids coaster and his new favorite is the log flume (rode it 9 times in a row last weekend)
  10. Awesome report! I haven't been to Kentucky Kingdom since it was a Six Flags park but it is on my list of places to go - even though I have to bring my gay ass to Kentucky to get there
  11. ^ Welcome (soon) to Georgia. We're glad you are here. SFoG is really a damned good home park. It definitely has some of the "Six Flags" problems, but is (in my opinion) one of the better parks in the chain. Went yesterday with my 3 year old great nephew again. It is cool to see the experience from his eyes, even if I can only look longingly at Twisted Cyclone, Mindbender, Goliath, etc... He loves the Monster Mansion and the Joker Funhouse Coaster, but the Log Flume is by far his new favorite ride. Rode it 8 times in a row yesterday, and luckily it was slow enough that the staff kept letting us stay on
  12. Always love to see a report from you Andy! This is one of those parks that you think, if they had a few hundred thousand dollars for infrastructure and restoration that it could really make the park look better. David
  13. I haven't been there since it was Six Flags and desperately want to return and for some reason, the fact that they make the pretzels from scratch just really impresses me and makes me happy. David
  14. This was a great report - Thanks for posting! That last picture of the zero gee is from a great angle and looks super cool!
  15. It was introduced in the same year as SFoG's splashwater falls, which is also no longer working. I worked at SFoG then and it is weird to remember that these were a pretty big deal when they were first opened. LOL
  16. ^Glad you are having fun! Don't forget Mindbender. Still one of my favorite rides.
  17. It's awesome that you guys get to do this! That is a TON of quality time right there. I hope to do this kind of thing with my little guy when he gets older (he's 3 now and loves the coasters and rides he can ride, but not tall enough to warrant a road trip )
  18. ^I'll be thinking of you and sending good mojo and vibes your way Phil.
  19. Love all of the facial expressions and that chick should not have her phone out on the ride
  20. ^ and ^^ - Gave me a chuckle this morning so Thanks. On Topic - a hotel near a park will NEVER be at a $49 price point unless it is during the offseason and the park is closed.
  21. ^ Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them. I found Copperhead Strike to be just a FUN ride. Not super intense or anything, but a laugh a minute and everyone gets off with a huge smile on their face.
  22. The Superman flyers might not be all that exciting, but you have to admit they sure are pretty. David
  23. ^^As does Six Flags Over Georgia - its nice that it is away from the front of the park, you can fill your drinks there and pick up your skip the line passes.
  24. Sky buckets were running on Friday afternoon. My 3 year old great nephew and I went for a while. He's big enough for the Log Flume and Sky Buckets which he loves (made me think of coasterbill.) First time on Monster Mansion for him. He squished up next to me in the dark part and told me he was scared, then insisted that we ride it three more times
  25. I absolutely LOVE your explanation of night rides on the Beast! Thanks, as always, for posting. I really enjoy your reports.
