  1. This was great! Thanks for sharing your day with us. David
  2. What a wonderful and funny report! Thanks so much!
  3. Awesome report as always Chuck! Thanks for posting!
  4. The kid is tall enough and wants to ride and you're worried about some measly g-forces? What the hell kind of coaster dad are you? You are right. He's already a little adrenaline junkie. Took him to White Water this weekend to switch things up a bit. He had a blast but damn was it exhausting.
  5. ^ That 2nd horizontal loop has always been VERY forceful - I'm under the assumption it is from the G's. I didn't realize they were tearing down the Batman arena! When I've gone this year I've been with my little guy and we haven't ventured into Gotham City as although he is only 3 - he wants to ride all of the big rides and gets upset that he isn't tall enough for Batman. He's just hit the 42" mark and I'm debating on taking him on Mindbender. Not because he would be scared (he is fearless,) but because of the super heavy g forces at the bottom of the "2nd loop - downward helix" and the last loop. Thoughts?? I'd love to see a Poison Ivy themed ride! David
  6. It seems like Mindbender has gotten faster as it has gotten older. I for one am glad that the trims / blocks kick in like they do. Untrimmed going into that last loop would have airtime galore, but then you'd be unconscious pulling into the station . Still one of the best rides ever to me (I've been riding it since it was new.) David
  7. I've kind of been wishing for a central measurement station at SFoG. My 3 year old and I go almost every weekend and he is right at 42 inches. Taking a little guy up to a ride and waiting in line, then being told he can't ride is literally a nightmare. He has no fear and already gets upset that he can't ride Goliath so he gets upset by this and I get to deal with the aftermath
  8. I think this looks great! I haven't been to KI since Banshee was new (Thanks TPR and Banshee Bash!!,) and this, along with Mystic Timbers (and the ever amazing Beast night rides) might definitely get me out there next year.
  9. Wow - what an adventure you guys had! Still loving the reports and am always amazed at how wonderfully and efficiently the Japanese deal with things like earthquakes. David
  10. Awesome report! Thanks for sharing this. They all look like cute little family parks.
  11. Awesome report Chuck! Thanks for sharing with us. David
  12. Awesome! Thanks for posting and I love the Titles of each "chapter." David
  13. Excellent! I've been looking forward to your report from this trip! Thanks!
  14. I don't really care too much for water parks, but I have to say that Holiday World's is an AMAZING one and really won me over. I actually took time off from riding Voyage to spend time in their water park. David
  15. Couple of things - My 3 year old little coaster buddy is finally tall enough for the Mine Train, so we rode it 6 times last Sunday. I know I'm showing my age here, but does anyone remember when they ran 4 trains on this? I don't think they even have 4 trains for it any more Also - when did they decide to not open the front part of the park early? I usually get there around opening with him and the last few visits it is just a $%*#show. Several hundred people waiting (with no shade.) The "Diamond Elite uber special secret entrance takes at least twice as long as the regular gates and security is slower than ever. It's just super frustrating and not the best way to start your day at the park. Don't get me wrong - I still have a great time and this is now our Sunday "thing" that we do - He asks every day when I pick him up at daycare if we are going to Six Flags and that makes me smile. David - need to go for a grown up day soon though- McCollum
  16. This is awesome! Once I realized you were on the trip I began looking forward to the "Chuck Report" from the trip! Thanks for posting this and I look forward to the rest. David
  17. Still enjoying the hell out of this report! Thanks David
  18. Dare Devil Dive and Superman get the longest lines - since you can't rope drop one of those if you aren't getting a Flash Pass just plan to wait a while. Twisted Cyclone moves pretty fast but will get a line as well. Give yourself time to ride Mindbender a few times as it is awesome! Don't miss the Monster Mansion as it is super quirky and fun. I usually eat at JB's as the food is good and you get good portions.
  19. Awesome report - Looking forward to more!! Thanks for posting.
  20. Looks like everyone is having SOO much fun on Untamed!! Thanks, as always, for the great pictures! David
  21. There is no such thing as too many pictures of Knoebels! Thanks so much for posting. David
  22. This is lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us. David
  23. Great report and congratulations on #100!! Thanks for posting these and I was also curious about that -2G reading on Whizzer. I absolutely adore that ride, but don't remember that type of airtime
  24. I think that was a good call on their part in the long run, even though not ground breaking, American Thunder fits really good with the rest of the parks line up and is a solid coaster for many. As with the toll plaza area, I wonder if there has ever been any talk to repurpose that land, or even turn it back into a picnic area and brighten that area up again. As for the dog kennel, do they ever mention it? I have never seen them advertise or ever point out that it's there. Does any other park in the chain have a dog kennel or is that unique to SFStL? SFoG has a dog kennel - right under the turn for the drop into the 2nd loop of Mindbender.
  25. ^ I definitely think Dragon is a MUST RIDE, but for me it is a "must ride - ONCE" kind of attraction. I feel that it is another "rite of passage" for roller coaster and theme park enthusiasts.
