  1. ^ I'm under the impression that he works there.
  2. Please don't. Have you ever worked in a park or with the public in general? Someone telling you they "deserve" something really makes you just want to hit something. The employee also "deserves" to be able to do the job they are being paid to do without people giving them crap about it. Sorry - but that hit a button for me - Carry on -
  3. For some reason, this post just made....my......day!!! Thanks
  4. Yes, Melt Bar & Grilled is my favorite restaurant ever. The food is so delicious. Their menu is out of this world. Here's a couple of my favorites. The Dude Abides: Homemade meatballs, fried mozzarella wedges, basil marinara, roasted garlic, provolone & romano Full menu can be found here. http://meltbarandgrilled.com/menu/melt-menu/ The 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon: This is a 10 ounce sandwich with hickory smoked bacon, black pepper-crusted slab bacon, Maple bourbon Glazed Smoked Pork Belly, Canadian Bacon, Herb cream cheese with bacon bits, in-house made mayonnaise infused with bacon, sharp cheddar, fresh romaine lettuce and sliced tomato! If Melt came to Cedar Point I would be beyond stoked! This! Just this.
  5. ^ Oh dear - I haven't been on this thread in a few and all of this is happening to you!! I'm sending warm fuzzies and good mojo to both you and Michael. I know it SUCKS. Although I'm super far away, if there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask!
  6. If they put 1/2 of the effort into Metropolis as they did into Gotham at SFoG, it will look AMAZING. I still think they have the best Gotham area of all the parks
  7. I agree with you about SDC. One of my favorite places!!
  8. From the picture, (I know, I know, it is just a marketing picture,) it doesn't look like it will have the Harley Quinn theme that the other Spinsanity's did. I find it odd since that character has become a LOT more well known since the release of Suicide Squad and you'd think Six Flags would keep cashing in on that. Anywho - these are a lot of fun and for years of a nationwide drought of flat rides - it's nice to see that a lot of parks are addressing that.
  9. I'll also agree that Hydra is an impressive looking coaster. Never blows me away, but is always fun. We've renamed its Cobra Roll to a Fallopian Roll
  10. ^ Agreed. Although they are not huge new "OMG AIRTIME!!" additions, people seem to forget the years of pissing and moaning about lack of flat rides. Then, when a park gets new flats, people piss and moan about deserving a coaster .
  11. LMAO - "power bottom." Great report! Thanks for sharing.
  12. I'm not exactly sure you fit the mold of what we're going for around here. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave. You know, it's fine to complain about not getting the things you want for your home park....hell, that's the norm for places like this. I do, however, find the level of just plain thoughtlessness shown to other posters in this thread and members of TPR to be a bit crappy. To put no thought into general bitching about the employees of a park, when a few of them go ABOVE AND BEYOND in this very thread, is kind of inconsiderate. Six Flags has always employed younger people - corporate wide. I worked there when I was a teenager. Now this comment is most certainly all encompassing, and I do not mean to offend anyone here; but teenagers (including myself,) often have an EXTREMELY different opinion of Above-and-beyond service. I'm certainly not saying that they don't care - but during hot summer months in the sun, when I was 15 and 16, I just wanted to give you your soda so you could leave. I'd smile and say thank you and refer to people as Ma'am and Sir - but that was about it (and I was one of the people who loved the job.) Six Flags Food Service, especially at the counter service restaurants, has NEVER BEEN FAST. EVER. I've been going to Six Flags Parks for somewhere around 40 years, and during the last 30 - I don't think I've ever quickly gotten a meal and often have to wait longer for food than for a coaster. I know from experience, being the cashier that people are getting upset with regarding the delay in getting their food (when there is absolutely nothing I could do about it,) did not lead to me wanting to give exceptional service. Once again, I just wanted to hand over the food and continue working the line until I could go on break. I, for one, would like to acknowledge the SFStL employees that post here, and say thank you. You are the kind of employees that EVERY park needs. I also want to tell you guys that on my visits to SFStL, the employees were mostly the nicest I've dealt with in the Six Flags Chain. Thanks guys.
  13. LMAO Although it is completely asinine and ridiculous, you gotta' admire is dedication to the ridiculousness. You go boy! I do think that it was odd to hype an announcement for the Planet Snoopy expansion, but hey - if that's it, that's it and good for them. Although they can be irritating , families do spend more in parks than individual or even groups of enthusiasts. Even without a Hurler upgrade, I'd still love to go back. It's not like I rode it any more so I won't really be missing out on anything. I-305, Volcano and Avalanche are still there and I also don't hate Anaconda.
  14. ^ huh?? Do some of the people on this thread not look at any of the other threads here?? Coasterbill is know for being humorous, witty and sarcastic. It is part of his charm. Anywhoooooo ------ It is nice to see them investing into this park, even if it isn't really anything I'm excited about. I really enjoyed the park, the atmosphere, the employees and the rides when I visited and would love to visit again.
  15. I've never been embarrassed about it. When in a meeting at work, they always do an "ice breaker" and ask everyone to say the usual (where from, how long at firm, etc...) but they also always ask for one unusual or unique thing about you. I usually say I'm a theme park nerd and I've ridden over 350 different roller-coasters. For the most part, people think that it is a pretty awesome hobby and MANY people tag me in coaster articles on Facebook or forward me news stories about theme parks. I don't go full-on technical with my non-enthusiast friends because forcing someone to listen to things they are not interested in is rude. I will, however, talk about funny things I've seen at different amusement parks, etc.
  16. Night rides on Toro are freaking insane! I can't describe how freaking out of control and amazing it is, and it seems to get faster and more out of control the later it gets. Truly some of the best rides I've had on any coaster - EVER. Have a blast!!
  17. No opinions allowed on this site. You know better than that. Just because you don't like someone's opinion of your opinion, you really can't say that no opinions are allowed here. That's just petty. Anywho....... It's funny, but the main reason I'd love to see RMC do their thing with Hurler is to see just what they are capable of doing with it. I, for one, have never enjoyed Hurler and really agree with others that the layout is kind of two scoops of lateral dullness. Although I know some people hope for B&M flyer, hyper, what have you, signs just don't overall look that way.
  18. ^ as far as the weather, this is Florida - it changes from minute to minute. At this time of year, expect at least one afternoon thundershower every day. It pretty much rains every day through the summer. If there aren't any hurricanes or Tropical Depressions in the Gulf, you will be fine. The ride and rain policy is like other parks - it is not consistent. I've ridden Cheetah Hunt in rain so cold it was almost sleet, and I've seen it close when there was a light mist in the air. As far as I can recall, all of the major coasters have bins in the stations so medicated rabbits aren't much of an issue unless you have valuables that you don't want to leave out.
  19. ^ Ugh - that sounds like a little slice of Hell on Earth. Sorry you had to deal with those crowds. Days like that here (at Disney) as an Annual Pass holder, I just turn around and go home.
  20. Loved the pictures and think your description of Dorney's "okayness" was spot on. I've been to Dorney twice, both times on TPR trips. After reading so much about this park, I "really" wanted to like it. I wanted everyone to be wrong and to have missed something as I kind of felt sorry about the place. My first visit - Laser was there and was, by far, my favorite ride in the park. The second visit - it was gone. There really isn't anything "wrong" with the coasters in the park...but there isn't anything particularly "right" either. Thanks for taking the time to post!!!
  21. I will never fully comprehend the claims of ejector on Millennium. I think it's a great ride in a fantastic location and it keeps its speed like a champ, but I've never experienced anything beyond pathetically anemic floater while riding it. Also, MM has some great coasters with good variety but I do think the coaster quality level is higher at CP overall. To compare the full experience at each park, CP comes ahead by a long shot. Love this
  22. Thanks so much for the report and pictures. Sometimes, we all get so caught up and opinionated about what is good and bad, that it is so refreshing to see someone who basically liked everything and had a great time!!! Thanks again and keep on enjoying yourself!
  23. Paula, have I told you lately how awesome you are?? If not......you are. David
  24. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed this report. Words just don't do it justice!! I, also, didn't enjoy much about LaRonde. Dragon was nice
  25. I might actually give a sh*t about Soak City is they bulldoze it and put some more coasters there, keeping only the swim up bar intact. My sentiments exactly!! If I go to a waterpark, I like to just go to a water park. Not go to a theme park, have to lug changes of clothing, rent fluffy bunnies, change,.... it wears me out just typing it.
