Congratulations on making your way through all of that!! Good luck with getting the weight back off, but it sounds like you shouldn't have much of a problem doing that. -

I am overly-concerned about this and that is disturbing me. True, I've been going to SFoG since I was 3 (when the park was new ,) did work there for a couple of seasons in the 80's and have spent Easter Sunday there almost every year since I moved away.....but still - I just need to relax. that being said.....I think I'll lose my #$@% if they do anything to Mindbender.

Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread

I'm kind of glad about the removal of the splash battle for the bumper boats. Although all of IB is rides stacked wherever they will fit, that Splash Battle always looked odd and never seemed to quite fit in. -

I don't think it will be Monster Plantation as it was completely redone in 2009. It (in it's former role as Tales of the Okefenokee) was one of the original rides at the park and other than Disney, it is the world's largest animatronic-based family dark ride (remember reading this and checked wikipedia to see if I was correct.) I hope it is not the Mine Train as that was the first roller-coaster in the park and is a GREAT first coaster for smaller kids. I really don't think they would touch the Mindbender - SFoG has always known it had a gem there. Splashwater Falls, however, opened when I worked there (and now I feel SUPER OLD,) and hasn't been open the last several times I've gone to the park. It looks rough and only has a few boats left. I think that is what they could get rid of. please please please please please don't let it be MindBender

I shouldn't have to worry about going out dancing in my home town with my friends.

I really liked Prowler, and anything similar to that would be a great addition to any park. ^Thanks for your hard work. It really helps me "visualize" what could be going there and gives me a frame of reference to start with. -

^^The Cinnamon Bread is really almost a religious experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Especially if it is still warm - that is a foodgasm waiting for you right there. I have not ever had a Skillet meal that I did not like. You can smell those from quite a ways away, but I seem to remember one having pulled pork, potatoes, onions, etc that was amazing. Try the red velvet fried Oreos. I....was....in.....ecstasy!! I'm usually not a "foodie" when it comes to Theme Parks (other times I am,) but SDC has some amazing choices. -

^ I'll just go ahead and let you know how jealous I am I LOVED SkyRush and even though it is confusing and you walk up hill for 352 miles every visit - I absolutely love Hershey Park. Have a great time!!! -
Thanks for the report!! Looks like an awesome couple of hours for you.

Being here is surreal, sad, frustrating and generally leaves me feeling very angry, sad and discontent. I've met a couple of the victims, but did not really know them well. The nightclub, Pulse, was frequented by younger people - which sucks even more because it is like "our kids" were attacked. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Orlando.

I'll agree that SDC and Holiday World are great, but have you been to Dollywood?? It seems to be the more comparable park to SDC, and although I love both - Dollywood slightly edges out SDC because, you know, Dolly -

^ Also - Voyage doesn't need any changes to the layout. Although it gets rougher later in the season, that layout is absolutely amazing. -

Saying that I am impressed would be a VAST understatement. This is truly just out-of-this-world amazing. -
We are okay. We don't go out that often, and when we do - we don't often go to Pulse. When it opened 10 years ago I still would have been to old for Pulse. It was a pretty horrible day yesterday and although none of our friends were there, everyone knows someone who was. Terrible terrible terrible.

What makes Phamtom's Revenge so good? Seeing the image of the second drop is legend among coaster enthusiasts. The drops, the "big drop" being hidden and the extreme airtime are a huge part of its appeal, but to me, it also has kind of an "old school" vibe, and it doesn't look like it is going to be as epic as it really is. I went in knowing its reputation and having heard people talk about it for YEARS, but I was thinking to myself that it was over-hyped. In my opinion, it was most certainly not. Take this with a grain of salt and be prepared for some of the TPR or Enthusiast "hipsters" to come in and say it's over-rated and that they don't like it so that they can feel superior and stuff.... they are wrong -
Any day in the summer is a crap shoot! Best bet is to "risk" heading there when bad weather is in the forecast, and hope that you get a window of no rain....easy for me to say, as I'm only 20- 25 minutes from the park! Here's the bottom line for any visit/any day of the week to SFGA: - get your A$$ up early and plan on arriving to the parking lot between 9am- 9:15am - early arrival gets you through security fairly quickly, and thus be one of the first people in line to get into the park - once you are in the park, head left and go: Kingda Ka> Zumi> El Toro> Bizarro (it should be around 12pm at that point) - high tail it to the other side of the park and go: Batman> Nitro> Skull - at that point, have fun with the crowds! Do whatever it is you like to do.....and keep your expectations low (in terms of wait times) Also: - you'll get some feedback about "not missing" the Safari, however- you'll need close to 2 hours from start to finish- your call - if it wasn't "new for 2016," trust me- you wouldn't wait on line for The Joker for more than 15 minutes....it will have the longest line in the park (as it is new/advertised like hell), and not worth giving up on the other coasters I mentioned above Have fun...... I appreciate it. I kinda want to leave the safari out, but my daughter is looking forward to it. The one at Disney blew her mind since some of the animals came right up to the truck. Truly told, the Safari at GAdv is better than at Animal Kingdom. I've done the AK Safari many, many times - and in one morning in New Jersey, I saw more animals and activity than I see in Orlando (and this is NOT to put down Animal Kingdom in any way as it is fantastic and the safari there is great as well. ) Just my opinion

Thanks for the pictures Thad! My one visit this park was really really nice. The staff were so friendly, they ran the flat rides like deranged carneys, Outlaw was fun and I didn't die on the Dragon. This looks like a wonderful fit for the park and I am so happy to see them grow. D
