  1. ^Oh. Well then I don't feel so bad now!
  2. Is it weird that I'm more excited about the park's redesigned entrance plaza than I am about Fury 325? I really loved the state line being visible as guests walk in the park, and the new design looks like it will still highlight that while giving the new plaza a more modern feel.
  3. I'm honestly glad to know that Skyrider was bought by another park. Of all of the Togo coasters I've been on so far, it was definitely one of the more tame, enjoyable experiences. I remember bracing for pain for my first ride at Behemoth Bash but walked off totally surprised by how decent it was!
  4. That Ferris wheel picture is wicked! I love when parks use that much fog for their Halloween events!
  5. It'll be interesting to see if this change affects the ride experience. It will definitely have an impact on capacity, but hopefully the operations team can minimize that effect by speeding up the dispatch process.
  6. Seriously contemplating getting over to the park next year. It's been five years since I last rode Rampage and I'm dying to see just how "new" it will feel once it reopens to guests.
  7. Great to see The Santa Claw return! And the Proto Build Bar looks like a neat concept too!
  8. I'd imagine there would be a lot of need for "cleanup" by the time the ride returned to the station if a park ever ended up enabling this "shock" concept. This could possibly be the worst novelty idea I've heard of for a coaster concept... Even worse than the Wooden Suspended Coaster.
  9. That's a nice looking Intamin!
  10. I love that parks are building more B&M dive machines. While they aren't particularly forceful, the drops really make the rides special. Sheikra at Busch Gardens still among my favorites of all the B&Ms I've ridden for this reason.
  11. It is great to see the park continuing to invest in areas that need attention. Family areas of the park's give an important balance with the more thrilling sections, and it looks like this new area will achieve that balance quite nicely!
  12. This has been the first year that not once in any one night I've visited (five nights so far), I've not been able to complete every house before the end of the evening. The park is packed on a level I don't believe they've seen before, which is surely great news for Universal. I'm hoping that if the success of the event is as good as we seem to be observing from the outside looking in, that serious conversations are being had about adding an additional house or two to the event lineup to help manage the crowds.
  13. ^The longest line in Walt Disney World is typically for meeting Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom. Toy Story Mania and Soarin' are both up there in the higher-wait time echelon with them, but you can seriously see waits of 180 minutes and more for the princess meet & greet.
  14. I'd imagine Star Wars, Marvel and Frozen will serve as more probable anchors for future expansion for the Disneyland Paris Resort. Both brands carry great awareness and Disney seems to be realizing that they can lean on that recognition as a crutch, if not shot in the arm for the parks. I wouldn't expect any non-IP projects to make it through the development pipeline when they've got three marketable brands that are guaranteed to increase park attendance and by extension, merchandise revenue.
  15. ^I guess that answers the question of what you do with a drunken sailor...
  16. Dubai Parks & Resorts has sent us a press release announcing details for their shopping and entertainment district called Riverpark, which will serve as the grand entrance plaza that leads to all three theme parks Dubai Parks and Resorts also sent us a press release announcing the inclusion of a Dreamworks-themed land at the motiongate Dubai theme park within the mega amusement complex.
  17. It is insane to think that the full, brand new ride is ready to be assembled but is sitting in storage. They paid the money to order the track and the trains, so you figure they would have been prepared to build the ride when they ordered it. Such a waste of what would likely be a fine Intamin ride...
  18. That family coaster looks almost like a custom SBF model like they've advertised on the IAAPA show floor... Or it could be one of the Chinese Knock-off designers' attempts to build a unique coaster.
  19. That video was great! Hard to believe the concept changed so radically throughout the course of the ride's development. The first version's drop looked insane!
  20. It'd be nice to see the park come back, even if it is in a different form with a different location. It's always a shame to see a park close, so seeing one reopen definitely takes the sting out of it!
  21. Christmas week in Orlando will always be busier than a non-holiday week, but Fun Spot doesn't ever seem overly packed when I've been there, so you could get lucky. That being said, the park hasn't completed its first year with the expansion, so past precedent may not be applicable when predicting crowds now that there is significantly more to the park than there was last Christmas.
  22. The notion of new trains for the ride is very exciting. I'm selfishly hoping that if this goes well, Disney would consider replacing the trains on Rock n' Rollercoaster next, or at least the soft-form restraints to be like the ones on the new trains.
  23. I really loved the National Harbor area the last time I visited, so if I went back I'd definitely consider riding The Capital Wheel. I don't know that I'd head there specifically for the wheel but if I was already there I don't see why I wouldn't give it a go!
