Last week my dad came up to me and told me to check the weather for Sandusky. Not thinking he was serious, I lazily checked the weather and reported it back to him. Next thing I knew I was booking our room at Breakers Express and my mom, my dad, and I were all headed for Cedar Point. INDEX Part One- The Drive: See Below Part Two- Knocking Out Boredom Part Three- Early Entry Part Four- Morning Manic Part Five- Afternoon Antics Part Six- Twilight Delight Part One- The Drive Since I live in Missouri, the drive to Sandusky is about 10.5 hours.... Yea, you saw that right, 10.5 hours. It wasn't too bad though, we had my iPod and plenty of McDonald's on the way to keep us happy. Rise and shine! Oreo knows something is up. Poor kitty, we'll be back on Saturday. Our ride for the trip. Around 8am it was time for our first stop. From the outside it looks liek a normal McD's. But from the inside it is a luxury restaurant. Complete with flat screens and old people! Elissa would be in heaven. Everything is bigger in Illinois! Oh wait.... Indianapolis is a beautiful city... too bad I cant get a good picture of it. See? Everytime I had the perfect shot, something got in the way right as I clicked. Oh well, only 5 more hours to go. So is this the gateway to the East? Finally something that says Cedar Point! So.... close! Too bad we're going to have to wait until tomorrow to ride anything. Breakers Express was nice, I thought it was funny that these toiletries had CP stuff on them, but it could have been the 10 hours of driving.

Really? Because I was at the park yesterday and everyone I talked to LOVED the ride and said it was great fun. It has to be that you're too tall or too short or something, because my rides were very smooth with no headbanging at all. The turns provide laterals, get over it, it was nothing bad. I didn't notice any problem with the turn after the launch, in fact the only part of the ride I thought was uncomfortable was the stengal dive. Maybe it was just running bad on the day you went, or maybe it was running GREAT the day I went, but to say that this ride is bad is an insane statement. I know that you are probably just going to write me off as a CP fanboy who is in love with any ride at CP, but that is NOT the case at all. I got this screen name before I became a real enthusiast and I hate it now. I am NOT a CP fanboy! Wow, that sounds really mean, it's not supposed to be though. I'm just saying that my ride was extremely smooth and fun. And either you are intolerant wildness, or you are too tall or something. -

I was there yesterday and had no trouble carrying my camera bag onto any of the rides, including TTD and MF. Most of the rides use "smart bins" as I call them. They open a certain bin for your train, then only your train can get into that bin. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable that someone isn't going to steal my stuff while I'm on the ride. At MF, they didn't say anything to me about having my camera out in line, but at TTD they insisted that it be in a cargo pocket. Im not sure how a big souvenir cup will be able to go on MF or TTD. Unless you can stick it down your shirt, I doubt they'll let you bring it on. As others have said, it seems to be really inconsistent. Rides that have separate load/unload stations are going to be your biggest problems. Rides like TTD, MF, Disaster Transport, Wildcat, etc. Hope this helps! -

I forgot to post on here earlier, but I will be at the point on Friday with my parents. I will be wearing a green and white striped polo and will most likely be at Maverick for the one hour early entry. Whoever that guy is that is on the Maverick crew (Jon?), be sure to say hi to me if you see me, and Ill say hi to you if I see you. -
If I was a gambler, I would put money on them tearing out the water park within the next 10 years to make room for more rides. Why? ~How many people go to CP to go to Soak City? ~When was the last time it got a new ride? ~They just built Castaway Bay Good to hear MS might be getting some attention, but even if GCI retracks it, it still wont have a good layout. What good is a smooth coaster if it's boring as he11? Great photos and great report, it is making me even more excited for when I go this Friday. I was laughing at all of those jokes you made, even if you did put Latinos and Mexicans on the same list.

Why does it seem that people go to parks not looking to have fun, but looking for ways NOT to have fun? Many TRs I read nowadays aren't about going to parks to have fun, they are about how the park has too much concrete or not enough theming. To be quite honest, I LOVED your pics, but the overall bashing mood of the TR made it not enjoyable to read. I wish people weren't so critical, and just had more fun. Hearing people rant about bad rides and ugly midways isn't what I want to hear, but thats just my opinion. -

I meant to say the 22nd. Now that I've edited it and you feel better about yourself, are you ready to answer my question or not? -

You argue that elements like airtime, forces, and speed don't matter, but don't all of these implement into your "fun factor" and "KYOYA factor"? You say its all about the ride experience, but "how many G's or exact mph, or how many milliseconds of difference in airtime you get or how many stengloozal dives or watever the coaster does" IS the ride experience! On a side note, I may be heading up to the Po!nt on Friday, June 22nd. Is it bad to go on a Friday or should it be okay? I will most likely be staying at Breakers Express to get the early entry deal, and I already checked and there are no events scheduled on that day. Should crowds me light or are they going to be your "standard CP" crowds? I would like to be waiting less than an hour for everything. -

That "original Dragon Coaster car" looks a lot like the current Millennium Flyers... That's pretty weird, but cool! Nice TR, that park looks like a good little park. -

I wouldn't say that. I consider Patriot to be more mid-sized than BIG. Alpengeist and Montu are BIG. Talon and Patriot are mid-sized. Montu is 150 feet tall with a 128 foot drop. Patriot is 149 feet tall with a 123 foot drop. Since when do you classify a coaster as large when you are calling the one that is one foot shorter medium? -

The latest rumor is a GCI for 2008 (formally 2009 but bumped up due to the fact that they got nothing this season). To be quite honest, I only ride it to get wet. On a hot day its a great way to cool off without having to wait in a long line. Without the jets, the only reason I'd ride is if I was feeling like having my balls smashed. -

I guess they were dueling the trains on Maverick like they showed in the animations, did you notice when on the ride? Those were some pretty good pics, were they stacking trains that bad all day? If so, thats a shame. I knew they couldn't run all six trains efficiently. -

Maverick certainly does have stengal dives. This one and this one would obviously be air hills if they continued going straight. This one would just have to turn after the apex instead of continuing as a full air hill, though. Both, however, ARE stengal dives. -
