  1. No definite plans for a trip yet, but here's what I have so far: Definitely: Six Flags Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm Probably: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom California's Great America Disneyland/DCA Possibly: Six Flags Great Adventure Kings Dominion Dorney Six Flags New England Busch Gardens Williamsburg Hersheypark (but will probably save this for 2020) Cedar Point (already went there this year, but I'd definitely be down to go again) Canada's Wonderland
  2. The only time I've been sent for an extra lap was on Twisted Colossus, but the riders weren't cheering for a second ride; the ride op actually offered it: "You guys wanna go around one for time for last ride of the night??" Just one reason why I maintain that TC has the best crew at SFMM.
  3. ^ They usually take a few weeks to take everything down. In mid-November, it's not uncommon to see a weird mixture of Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park decorations scattered around.
  4. ^^^^ Great report. I visited KI for the first time this summer and had a lot of the same experiences as you. This park has a really solid coaster collection, excellent operations, and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. I believe the original Bat was where Vortex now sits. I actually prefer where the new Bat sits; I like how it's way out in the middle of the woods, by itself.
  5. The way the World Series is going, looks like Revolution is getting a Red Sox retheme in the near future. Does that count as a new credit?...lol Source: https://attractionsmagazine.com/six-flags-world-series-bet/
  6. ^ You have the right idea, but Santa Clarita is the big city that encompasses a bunch of smaller "cities" that aren't real cities, but just unincorporated communities - namely, Valencia, Newhall, Canyon Country, and Saugus.
  7. Great report again, Andy! SFMM is my home park and I'm always interested to hear other people's opinions about it. I have to agree with you about SFMM vs CP; both have great coaster collections, but there are several coasters at CP that are better than SFMM's best coaster. As for the question, "Is SFMM in Valencia or Santa Clarita?", the answer would be, "Yes." Santa Clarita is a city that encompasses several smaller towns/communities - Valencia being one of them. That's exactly what happened. The ride opened with two drops, but the second drop was blocked off in the late '70s/'80s. Why? I don't know. (Oddly enough, the park still brags about Jet Stream's double-channelled drop on its website.)
  8. Considering the only major roller coaster not operating will be Boomerang, I don't think that's much of a loss. Joker, Superman, Medusa, and even V2, plus the other kiddie coasters and rides will all be open. However it does seem like Wonder Woman will be closed. Obviously no park will operate as many coasters and rides during HITP as SFMM does, given their sheer volume of coasters and good weather conditions, but Discovery Kingdom is by no means "pulling a Cedar Fair." They're operating nearly everything. Yeah, I honestly wouldn't care if Boomerang was closed; I mainly wanted to see the rest of the animals. As long as Medusa, Superman, and Joker are open, I'll be happy as far as coasters go. Cool, I'm glad to hear that. Thanks, guys!
  9. Sorry for the double post, though my last post was over a month ago... The ride lineup for Holiday in the Park has been posted. I'm thinking about driving up here in December to check out HITP and check out the animals I missed on my last trip, but it sounds like the top of the hill will be closed off. I'm somewhat surprised they don't open the whole park like SFMM does, considering they don't have any issues with temperatures being too low to run certain rides. Is this just a cost-cutting measure, or is there some other reason they don't open the hill?
  10. Great report and pics! I'm in a few of these pics, so I hope you don't mind if I save them. It's too bad Ghostrider was closed this time around, as it's my second favorite coaster at KBF, behind Xcelerator. Hopefully, you'll make it back out here again to ride it.
  11. While waiting in Top Thrill Dragster's line during a breakdown, I watched a group of seagulls play Chicken on Corkscrew's track. None of them managed to get hit, though. Also, I must've eaten half a dozen bugs during the two days I spent there last June.
  12. ^Great report! I've never been to Scary Farm, but it sounds like it's worth a trip down there. (I live near Magic Mountain, so it's a 1.5-2.5 hour drive down there.) I'm hoping to head down there next weekend.

  14. Well, shoot... I was going to plan a 2019 trip to Hershey, but I think I'll push it off until 2020 instead. This looks fantastic!
  15. Thanks for putting this together, Larry. It looks like we'll have a solid lineup of new rides next year, though I'm mainly excited that my home park is getting a new coaster.
  16. To make it worse, Top Thrill Dragster is being removed to make way for a Harry-Potter-themed family coaster. Your car breaks down on the way to your home park.
  17. I grabbed a video of Tatsu's new light-up wheels on Friday night. The video doesn't do it much justice; they really pop in the surrounding darkness.
